what would you choose

Getting my husband a portable vaporizer for his 65th, (yea, where did the time go??). He vapes mostly herb, would you get the Ascent by DiVinci, the Arizer Solo, or the Haze? Could you tell me why you chose the one you did and if none of these, what portable for herb would you choose? Thank you.

The Arizer Solo has been in the marketplace since 2011. Most of the bugs have been worked out. Planetvape and @Ed's TnT have many accessories to add to your vaporizing pleasure and needs. It's fun to use wood as well as a glass air path. This unit adds easily to many different water tools and has great taste and it doesn't use a lot of herb product. The Solo is a miser with the herbs. You will save $. I love mine as well as many others. the thread is quite large so read about the last 20-30 pages to get up to date.

I have both the Solo and the Ascent. I do like the Ascent too but there is a learning curve. The Solo is easy to learn right from the get go. The Ascent needs spacers because of the way the oven is made. The herb will fly around inside if not weighted down. The oven is fairly large if you chose to fill it up. I enjoy using my Ascent so if you decide on that one there is some tricks to the operation of the unit. There are many helpful FCers willing to walk you through the process.

I hear a lot of good things about the Haze, I may buy one some day.
Read through about 25 pages of each vaporizer that you are interested in.

The bottom line for me is a vaporizer that helps to produce great flavor from my herb.

The best vaporizer hasn't been invented yet, but we will keep searching. This bit of info should probably go elsewhere. I got carried away.

I like my solo, but the da vinci and haze also get good reviews, from what I have seen. Da Vinci seemed to have more issues unless this has been straightened out. haze hasn't been out all that long either.

I would recommend the Solo, or the Air. Depends on if you want one with a removable battery that is cheap, or a battery pack that is not so cheaply and easily swapped out. Once I get a desktop I may sell my Solo to a friend to get the Air, since that is a bit more portable, and looks like an ecig kinda. Though I walked through a busy park hitting my Solo while walking a couple of weeks ago, and nobody even really looked once. Not even stealth status, just drawing direct from the straight stem, covered in honey and bits of bud.

So, I think you should look at either the Solo or the Air, to be honest. I use my Solo daily and love it. I turned on another guy to vaping the other night. People seem to either embrace it right away usually low tolerance types with an open mind. Some kinda get it (takes a half dozen times or so), or just don't get it at all - high tolerance types who associate smoke with a high.

I dnk the da vinci, but I considered the Solo bc the pricepoint is better than the haze and the taste is supposed to still be good.
I chose the haze bc they have a 10 yr warranty, you can join the upgrade program for an extra fee (and join any time, not just when you first buy, I haven't joined yet), the batteries are easier to work with, it is smaller, with two bowls I can load both convection screens before I go somewhere, the cans provide additional ease of portability, and they apparently have excellent customer service. See the Haze thread. I read 51 pages before switching to the "best of" collection...then realized i'd already read most of them in first 51!
Haze is coming out with v3, so waiting until end of the month might be beneficial if you choose haze.
they read haze thread and many of the suggestions on thread have been incorporated into their redesigns...like a major redo of the temperatures with v 2.5.
oh, and I just started vaporizing and mainly smoked, now vape, flower.

I would suggest the Arizer Air or Solo. Strong brand. Highly reputable. A lot of aftermarket parts. The Accent I would not buy. More expensive than the Air and I hear the quality is not as good based on reviews is have read when I was in the market to purchase one.

The Arizer Air is an excellent vaporizer. It's the thin version of the Solo with less temps to choose from. It has user replaceable batteries. The batteries cost around $17 or $18 each. FCer @CentiZen sells them for a less amount. I have 4 batteries. Also the NiteCore charger works well with the batteries. My batteries last almost an hour each.

It mates well with a water tool. There are different mouthpieces that you can buy through Planetvape. @Ed's TnT has made some wooden pieces too.. I see FCer @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd from JoDa Glass is selling his specialized mouthpieces through Puffitup. So there's a lot of choices, it's always nice to have variety.

It's an excellent portable to take hiking or out for the day. It reminds me of like an e-cigar.
