What is the preferred core?
S/S,Glass or Hybrid
I cannot wait until I get chosen for JedHi training...

I already sent one tri-tone Afzelia to Alan the hunt for more wood continue's thanks to @Snappo finding unbelievably beautiful wood made easy

Any input is appreciated...

I would suggest the SS core. Also, the glass is the hybrid. There has been some confusion about that but I'm pretty sure that's the case.

So I will only need one more piece of wood.
And of course a variety of different species of Wood for roasting tubes.

I would consider purchasing one of each as it will only be a matter of time that you will want the full inventory. Each core is unique in-and-of itself; and with the plefora of roasting tubes you'll never lack the diversification of taste sensation(s). I generally start out with the glass core and finish with the ss.

That is what i did...Alan should be finished soon. @Alan feel free to post pictures, i dont mind Hell i may be too damn high from playing with both units.

I need to jump back on the list so I can get a standard HI to go along with my Hybrid. Everyone really should own both.

I've had both for a while now and I prefer the HIbrid. Just my personal preference given my setup and affinity for low-temp hemping. It's the bee's knees.

Both core models are exquisite and beautifully simplistic pieces of HIghly functional art.

I could go on and on, but in summary, strive to own both as they'll each serve different purposes. And they're each fucking badass.

The HI is the ultimate in versatility and connectivity to ritual.

@Alan...I had my first opportunity to try the new Adjust-a-bowl roasting tube you sent me; and can see why it's become your stem of preference. It delivers both an economic and potent delivery of green vegetative material. Those of you who are talking about getting 2 different logs- are you referring to the HI and the toasty top? I don't see other options on the site.

There is a SS core Hi and a Hibrid (SS/glass core). Then the toasty top. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, you'll get an email from Alan when it's your turn. Whether you do cartwheels afterwards or not is completely up to you.

Questions: Are any of you buying toasty tops or are you mainly getting a variant of the HI? If so why?
Also it looks like the tubes are purchased separately. How did you decide which to get?
I have months to wait but I'm obsessing about the HI now and am curious.

Talking about the core...
There is an S/S and Hybrid all I know Hybrid incorporate's glass.
Someone else will have to explain the difference.
From what I understand u need both. Lol

I know there are 2 different cores now but the toasty top and HI are a bit different and I don't know why people choose one over another. The toasty-top comes with 2 different cores also but are they the same as the SS and hybrid cores in the log style ones? If that's the case I would probably buy a tt and an island each with a different core but I think there must be a reason why the log style is more popular.

T-t has its own core but u can put the S/S HI Core in t-t but not hybrid. Most probably prefer log because easier to pair with water. Jmo

Maybe because the TT needs a stand? Not sure why else.

I always thought the tt was the desktop/whip version of the hi-sabre, like the ev2 is to the e-nano.

The HI functions a like the UD, though the roasting tubes are more elaborate. As with the UD, you fill the HI tube and slide it on top of the heating core. I'd recommend thinking about a vvps, since it would work with either your HI or UD.

The contents of the Slide-a-Bowl can be stirred by blowing a puff of air through the mouthpiece, pushing the material off the inner screen and improving airflow. The material is captured between two screens, one in the 13mm outer tube, and the other in the 10mm inner tube. This prevents spillage at any angle.

Our two current heater covers are the ones on the right side. The mounting holes for them are identical so they can theoretically be interchangeable. Since the glass heater cover has no air intake holes like the ss heater cover, the air must come from the space in the bottom. Air holes are drilled from the top through to the bottom. The Toasty Top has no bottom space since the power socket threads into the bottom hole so it can't accept the glass heater cover. I also like to limit the weight of the unit when using a glass heater cover to minimize the chance of bending the aluminum prongs holding the glass. The Toasty Top weighs too much.
The advantage of using the Heat Island for water filtration is the small diameter allows it to fit along side the glass body where a large piece would not fit without having to use an angled adapter.
I try to always make HI's as small as possible, but can really make them into almost any shape that can be turned on a lathe.

@grokit - The Toasty Top has evolved into the Heat Island using Heat Island Technology similar to how the EV-2 evolved into the e-nano.
