Broke the 18-18mm adapter I've been using as a wand and replaced it with a 14/18mm adapter that I can use with my bubbler and it's awesome! May just be my specific WPA but it definitely works better (quicker and thicker vapor) than my WPA ever did.

I'd be interested to see pictures of the piece you are using to create the vortex?
.

This is my latest untested stainless steel version. I have a good feeling this one will work better. And If not , I may have just made the world's smallest jetski drive impeller

your wpa came with a permanent screen? thats interesting. we must have a different model wpa then, mine has grooves to hold a screen in place.

No...they're the same. He's just never removed it. I was always changing mine because i like to crush the load as I go, clogging the screen in the process.

I like to crush the load to near the end but I dump mine out in the palm of my hand, crush it with my fingers and then dump it back into the WPA, but I no longer have to do that.

I don't know how youre getting a screen to fit there. got any tips on how to do it?

So I have 2 bitches about the LSV.
1st it makes my weed taste so good I just want to keep vaping all day. I actually used more weed this weekend than normal but I'm sure it'll pass, I'm like a kid playing with a new toy and can't stop using the LSV.

2nd is that it makes me hot!! I can feel the heat coming off it and when I use it with a bong it's really close to my head and it makes me sweat. I have a m2m elbow coming thanks to @stickstones so I hope that helps.

I have been vaping my 1st 2-3 hits at the 1 o'clock position the next 1-2 hits at the the 3 o'clock position and finish it off with 1-2 hits turned all the way up. Seems to be working great like that. What do you guys like to vape at and how many hits do get from a .3 nug through the bong?

I just set mine to between 1 - 2 and leave it there.

I can get 20+ hits, or I can cash a load in 2-3. It's all down to the user.

Bend the screen a bit, just enough to get it into the joint.

Once you slip it in the joint, the "top" domed side of the screen will face the outside of the adapter, and the "bottom" will be facing the inside of the adapter.

Slide it down far enough that the lowest edge of the screen is roughly where it should finish up.

Now, you need 2 poking tools.
Dabbers, skewers, toothpicks, 7th floor stirring picks all work well.
Insert 1 poking tool from the bottom of the adapter, and pres it up against that low edge of the screen - this isn't to move the screen, just brace that bottom edge.

Now take your 2nd poking tool, and insert it between the "top" domed side of the screen and the glass.
Using the top poker, you can leverage the screen down.

It can be a little tricky, but you can get it in there in under a minute easy once you're used to it.

Once the screen is in place, I press down on the centre of the screen gently, enough to remove a bit of the dome - my theory here is that by flattening out the screen a bit it makes it grip the m2m a bit better.

I live in Scotland, a vaporizer that provided me with heat would be a bonus hahah!

Try turning it off between uses, my units never get past warm in the 25 minute stints ill use them for.

Also having the LSV mounted inverted to the bong and turned on will exacerbate the issue.

It was 102 here and I was dying!!

I gauge my LSV to never surpass around 18C above ambient, though ambient in Scotland is around 0C

If the ambient temperature is uncomfortable, then any heat producing device is only going to raise to an even more uncomfortable temperature.
Cant say i have ever had temperature be an issue haha. I can wrap up easy, but i cant un-sweat and cool down so easy!

I do not know how people live in consistently hot countries/locations!

Secondly, I wonder if a rubber/silicon sleeve would help at all with stopping the clammy hands.

I'm using a silicone sleeve but can still feel the heat from the glass/HC.

Had a power outage this weekend, my LSV worked great on a Tripp-lite UPS. Had to turn the dial up a little more than usual to get the same wattage, but it did the job.

I wonder if that stems from the non-sinusoidal waveform of the UPS inverter, I considered the effects of that a while back.

Since we're talking tech here, I recently tried to get an old 12v lead-acid portable battery pack with inverter going to make my lsv transportable. It's made to charge from a cigarette outlet so I wired a 12v wall wart to a 12v socket and charged it overnight with no results. It's a really old battery, I did get a small milliamp reading and everything was warm but no real power. Then I thought I wired it backwards and changed the leads around and left it overnight again. Turns out I had the wiring right the first time; everything got warm again, but the milliamp reading went away. So the battery is no good, wondering about the rest of that setup but I'm also wondering: do these wall warts have built-in circuit breakers or fusible links, to protect them from idiots like myself?

I really wish that the seventh floor crew would offer some 14 and 18mm FEMALE water pipe adapters I have so many pieces with male joints I would love to vape from and these days so many tubes have male joints they need to get with the times

I'm sure you could contact them and get a couple made up custom for ya :)
For something as simple as that I doubt they would charge you any extra...

Also, I know it's a bit annoying, but IMO if you've got a collection large enough that you've got multiple pieces missing out on LSV action, you should try to have a few adapters on hand...

I've got enough adapters now to turn any 14/18mm joint into an 18mm female, and enough adapters to turn an 18mm female into any 14/18mm joint :)

Good thinking I guess I will send their customer service an email but hopefully they offer them on the website soon because like I said the popularity of male joints is rising

And I have adapters that I can make work but it's inconvenient and some adapters bring the WPA right up to my eyes even low profile ones Makes me cross eyed not to mention the fact that it makes me cringe having to put on a 10 dollar adapter onto my 2,000 dollar piece of glass

Yeah fair enough, I know adapters aren't ideal - they definitely add unnecessary height etc...
It's just more that I see some people just sit there and say "well, my glass is useless now" without dropping $10 on an adapter

At the very least it's an option until you can get the right WPA :)
