Grav Labs Stax

This too shall PAX...
Good Day All,

Was curious to those that may own any of the Grab Labs stuff? Massdrop has the Stax pieces right now and was debating joining. I'm broke, but bored with the China Glass. Thoughts on the pieces? I'm mainly concerned about the clearance for the Underdog?

It seems like the cost really adds up once you've put together like 2 or 3 pieces and you have a total of like ~200. I know a guy who has owned a few build a bongs but he says the time it cracks everytime will be when you are just removing the pieces- even gently he said it has cracked from just removing the middle section for instance- always on the joint crack too. They have gone through like 3 bases and are finally kind of saying this is the final ByB base that they will get, it just racks up your cash when you think about it- grav labs is a china company for most of their glass, so this really is only a good deal because other chinese companies haven't caught on to doing this style because of suspected low demand by the suppliers.

But yeah, in all they crack like mad from my friends experience, and not from normal everyday fuckups it will just be from removing such a large joint it is hard to pull it directly up and not at at least a minor angle and the joint areas are very weak on these- part of what makes you buy more. He said he cracked one just pulling it out normally and there was no tension it just broke.

"Dave: We have 70 employees in Austin alone, and we do have some production that we do in China to help facilitate the production that we do here. Thirty of those employees in Austin are glass-blowers, and the other 40 do processing, shipping, sales, marketing"

Their general production line is done in china, worked pieces in the US. I thought it was quite well known that this is a cheech type company where 90% of their glass is china but they market as a US company.

Edit: Shit man that last sentence sounded really elitist, I didn't mean it as an offense, peace
