How to improve the moisture level of vapor and avoid throat irritation?

Hello Folks
I have been reading quiete a few posts in this forum about dry throat and respiratory tract irritation because of dry vapor. There are people (like myself) who are prone to allergies and can easily get irritated from the dry vapor. This is a list of what I have found so far by reading your posts and trying some of these stuff on my own also:

1. Sip some warm water in between hits
2. Mix two table spoon of honey with half glass of water and sip it before vaporising and also in between hits
3. Use a bubbler or a water tool/bong together with your vape
4. Fill your mouth with water (pure water or water mixed with honey) and vape while keeping the water in the mouth. This will act as a second bubbler. After the hit, swallow the water.
5. After the session, do some gargling with water and decongestion natural medicine (i.e. honey, etc) and then swallow
6. Use warm steamy water in the bubbler/bong instead of ice (not hot boiling coz it can break the glass)

In theory throat irritation would decrease if ALL of these actions are used. I will try later this week and post my feedback later on here.

However, I still think there is one key aspect that the vaporisers are missing and that would greatly increase the moisture level: incorporate a ultrasound humidifier in the vaporization system.

Basically if the water tool or the vaporiser had a ultrasound humidifier attached to it that creates vapor while hitting the bong, I guess a lot of the dry throat issues would be resolved. I have a mini one and I'll try to develop a home made solution that links such tool to the vaporiser and see if this is possible. I'll post this experiment also during my next post.

Anu comments/additions are more than welcome
i had 3 different whip type vapes over the years. i stopped using all of them because of the heat on my throat and lungs. then i got a vape with a whip and a bag (the extreme Q). i will never go back to using a whip with a bong/bubbler set up again. i love the bag. haven't had a problem with a sore throat since and i went from vaping 3 grams a day to 1.5 then to .75. . same genetics and i use much less bud.

Not to invalidate your experiences but just to say that for many, their experiences has been quite the opposite, which again goes to prove that there's not a vaporizer on the market that is right for everyone.

people complain about the heat from vaping from a bag? it's a bit dry and a sip of water per bag is all i ever think of doing. I'll have to search that. I'm pretty sensitive to the heat and again, the bag is the only reason i vape. it's much better than using a whip for me.

different strokes eh! :)

i bought my first table top vape in 1999. i kept trying to like them but i never did. i'm so freaking happy i decided to try a bag unit. i hope to get a volcano one of these days.

No, but they do complain about how the dryness has a negative effect on their lungs much like heat does and it really suffers in the taste department as well.

Also, it's been my experience that vaporizers that use a bag as a delivery system really suffers in the efficiency (bud conservation) department for the same reasons that the taste takes a hit.

From everything that I've read, and I've read a LOT, most of those that have the Q end up using it strictly, or at the very least, primarily in whip mode.

But again, my intent is not to invalidate your choices but rather add another perspective to those who may be considering on purchasing a bag vape.

I can't take really high temperatures unless I have water filtration. I have vaporizers that are harsher than some and I need to keep the heat down. The shorter the air path the more harsh the vapor will taste in my experience. I like to use high temps late at night for pain and sleep, that's usually when I get out the water tools.

Some cannabis strains are also harsher than others. For example IMO AK47 is a fairly harsh strain than has a tendency to be hard on my throat and lungs. It medicates amazingly well but the harshness is a factor. Sometimes I will mix a better tasting strain with something that doesn't taste so well like Blue Dream. Also if your cannabis is too dried out that can cause some harshness.

Vaping through warm water has been my go-to method for relieving any kind of harshness.

Another method that I found really useful if warm water is not an option is to puff on your vaporizer multiple times per hit like you would a cigar inhaling little bits of air between vapor puffs.

When I started useing again after 30+ years I would cough and cough so I would just suck on a cough drop while vapeing and after a little while it got to where I don't need them now .
