Smell my cheese
I finally got a hold of one of these last week and, after a couple of disappointing sessions at first, I really love it. I'm camping on 410 right now, so the taste is not great but the clouds are some of the best I've gotten from a pocketable portable. Soon I will need to dial it down and enjoy some tasty hits...

How do you find it compared to the MiniVap in terms of cloud production?

It's hard for me to say since I have mostly used it only on high (that and I'm still getting to know the Crafty, whereas I have the MV down pretty good). But initially I give the nod to the MV for taste and clouds. But they both have a good, strong effect and seem to have smaller chambers than some of my other vapes. I'll have to do a side-by-side someday to really know!

But at this point, I'm reaching for the MV for nice, tasty sessions and the Crafty for quick, stealthy sessions. The Crafty heats up much faster.

I have both of course, maybe the Crafty is faster and goes to temp in no time, but I see I get more puffs from the mV than the Crafty (less clouds, maybe bigger?).
What I don't like on the Crafty, correct me if I'm wrong, is that your load get pre- beaten or there's some kind of conduction through the metal surrounding the chamber.
To the point that I turn off the Crafty a couple hits before I actually I intend to stop pulling.
Otherwise I think there's some wasted vapor. On the mV this is close to inexistent and its easy to detach the chamber and don't waste any terpe/cannabinoids in the process of heating.
If you pack bowls and intend to spend it all.in one session, considering the portability and speediness (not flavor), Crafty wins.
If you need just a pull or two to get considerably vaked, you get more puffs for your bucks on the mV.

First the flavor, then the buZzz settles in....
Knowledgeable people of FuckCombustion.com, I have a dilemma. Ive narrowed my search down to 3 portable vapes. The Crafty Vs The mighty Vs Arizer air. I know I am going to get verbally scolded for this, people will probably send me to use the search function, ask me if Im high or something or just plain ignore me. I also know that everything comes down to personal prefrence. But if someone here has been lucky enough to try all 3 vapes which one would you choose and why?

Here are my prefrences in descending order.

1) Draw restriction....some is fine but I have issues if theres too much draw restriction.

2)smooth vapor. My throat and lungs are sensitive and get easily irritated from harsh vapor. This is why I use a water tool with my e nano, home vape.

3) stealth. Since MJ is not legal here per say, I want something that I can take with me to places, I will be driving mostly and I dont want to raise any flags or sound alarms.

4) ease of use and ease of cleaning...I know there is a learning curve for everything but I dont want this to turn into that science project that never worked right.

Help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Any takers?

Based on your preferences I'd say Crafty.
Get a power bank to prolong the battery life (official one charges is faster having a 2.1A output).
At higher temps Crafty can be a bit harsh but you can go lower if you don't have a water tool around.
Easy to clean too, and it's a powerhouse.

Thanks man. I am leaning towards the Crafty slightly much. I had to pause for s minute though, because the mighty is much more pronounced and for a few bucks extra seems like a sweet deal, though the size of it, defeats bthe purpose of stealth And will catch wandering eyes.

Now when you say, not having a water tool around, do you mean that I have to possibility of attaching the crafty to a water tool if I wanted? Thats why I was looking at the Arizer Air, because of the capabilities it had to be attached to a water piece.

 Go use the search function, are you high?

Ok now that's over with  I can only comment on the air and crafty, never felt the need for the mighty's extra power as I have other options that make the crafty power fine the way I use it.

1) draw restriction, win goes to the crafty, the air is not hard to draw on and other stems can help here if needed (never felt the need myself though) but the crafty is free and easy.

2) smooth, :worms: here, both have the potential to be harsh (never found this myself but I think my throat/lungs are numb going from friends reactions ) lots of things like strain, temp, user and grind can play a part here.

3) stealth, it's close between the crafty and air IMO, the air kinda looks like a big e-cig, here in the UK that is a plus as people walk around with similar looking things all over, the crafty fits nicely in your hand and the vibration means it could be in your pocket out of site until ready to hit, so tie here.

4) ease of use, IMO crafty wins (but only just) but ease of cleaning goes to the air (less parts to clean) learning curve is turn it on, fill it, vape it that's it, only learning curve is personal preference things like grind, temp and draw speed, and what ever of these you choose the crafty will just get on with it, the air for some things needs them done a certain way.

IMO each one has something that it excels at, the craftys heater is just amazing, really consistent I try to over power it sometimes but can't do it (can with all my other battery powered vapes), I might make it think for a few seconds but then it just laughs and pumps out as much vapour as I can handle (or as little if that's what your looking for)
The air, simple removable battery, can have ready charged one(s) waiting so no worry about battery life and IMO better for group situations.

I have heard people say the mighty might be slightly smoother (due to slightly larger cooling unit )
I like to think I play to each ones strength, my air I grab when I'm going to take my time spend 5-12 minutes on a bowl or with others, and the crafty i use for 2-5 minute bowls fast and heavy.

They are all great vapes and any you choose I think you will be happy with, just have to figure out the little things that are most important for your planned usage, good luck

Oh and on a water tool front the crafty is just as easy to use as the air and IMO milks with ease thanks to the heater, only difference is my air thanks to the GonG I don't have to hold while using but the crafty I do unless using a whip to join it up.

@JayDay what you describe is normal, although the way I use mine I do get vapour on the first draw but not huge amounts (I class the first draw as getting it ready) think of it as drying your herb a little, IME dryer herb gives bigger visuals with any vape, so go slow or go fast just because you can't see it doesn't mean it not there (as you noticed by feeling not sight) maybe try a fast 5-10 second first draw and see if that helps get you what your looking for, of even grind some herb leave it on a sheet of paper for 30 mins then vape it, best to try every option to find what suits best.

Recieved my replacment unit within a week.

Its brand new, firmware 2.07 and has modified top fins that look tougher and light blue o-rings.

0 miles on the clock @Stu

One very happy S&B customer here.

Any chance of a pic of the modified top fins? I have fw2.05 and it was advertised as improved moulding, would be good to get a pic of yours if you have noticed a difference to see if mine is old or new improved style.

It's always nice to hear of people getting brand new units, makes the price a lot more justifiable, if only car company's were this generous.

Thanks for the reply man. Yeah, Im golden after the 2nd draw. But thanks for reminding me that I can do fast draws (I just did and saved alot of time making clouds), I used to toke long and slow (tabletop convection experience). Also been using the S&B grinder which I think does the job. Will have to expirement using finer herbs.. Isnt it bad though for the lower screen?

Oh crafty, man, destroys me everytime. Clocking in an hour a day since I got it.

On second inspection I'm not 100% sure they are any different from my cy000619 model.

As I don't have the old one to compare it with perhaps someone else could confirm.

I do think that top fin is slightly thicker and tougher than I remember.

Don't know if I would say bad, but will need cleaning more often if done regular, both under the oven screen and inside the CU, I use a Santa Cruz shredder (don't see myself ever having to buy another grinder) which for me works perfectly (not too fine, not too coarse, just m m good)

Always worth trying something once just to see, you might find you don't like too fine a grind (for me it does something to the taste, don't know what and it's not really bad just different)

Grind size is hard to explain but I find dry herb in a S&B grinder around a half turn is enough, just big enough to save on cleaning.

@h3rbalist thanks bud mine looks the same, that was my only worry as the plastic breaking isn't really something we have much control over, might take off the kid gloves a little more now.

Cleaning more regularly is not a problem. Im even sacrificing not using the oil pad just to decrease restriction, plus I always do full loads.

I will def try it, might produce thicker clouds. Plus I was really used to grinding as fine as sand because of the Pax.

Should I go slower on first 2 puffs?

Welcome to FC first of all. As for your questions,

Could help. The slight conduction aspect of the mighty and crafty is supposed to ensure the first draws are cloudy too. I have my crafty at 185 starter temp and once the light goes green I wait 5-10 seconds before doing my first draw. Don't do a different style then the rest of the them and always get decent clouds.

Maybe material or grind consistency?

Got my new replacement craft today, so good to be back to the vape. Fuck Combustion. Took about 10 days, 2 day waiting for shipping label, 2 days shipping there, 1 day there, and 5 days shipping back. Five day ground shipping just to go with FedEx and get a signature sucks lol. Its version 2.07 and the only other thing that is different is a smaller charger. Makes me wonder if the original charger caused problems. Sent an email asking what was wrong with my unit and if there is anyway to prevent the same issue reoccurring.

And please mind that I shot these vids standing on the toilet in my bathroom freezing not to move out of camera, which I held in my left hand. I'm bringing this up because if I keep a perfect seal around silicon I get even more vapor :rip:.

I have that same shower tool but from vapor blunt, I believe that is a 14mm adaptor but wanted to clarify before making my purchase

@YetAnotherUsername ancient Chinese proverb say: Man who stand on toilet, high on pot........

I have been using my Crafty off and on since receiving it in March. I only use it for 1-2 sessions in the evening. Each session is @ 385 for about 5-7 minutes. Although the initial heatup takes longer than it used to (2:15) , extraction is top notch. I have been using a glass 510 drip tip (thanks FC!) and I no longer grind. Just jammimg a small nug into the chamber results in even doneness for me and the herb......
