I receive my new unit today and it as the same casting as my first one but with firmware 2.07!!!
My original Crafty broke on mai 24 (red and yellow flashing light) and I receive my new baby today!!
All procedure in 10 days, ship to the far eastern canada!!

Damn it, 43 hours in on v02.06 and i just got the red and yellow lights and the send in your vape pop up.

Wow. I am so medicated I might have trouble assembling this thought.

Packed my Crafty to the fucking outer limits. Pineapple, Amnesia Lemon at 350-365 dump the half-baked load.

Add in the Bruce Banner, grind in the orange storz grinder into a relatively fine (not too fine) powder. Go 365 for a few more, kick it to 375, enjoy at that temp for 3-4 and then go for the gusto up to 410.

My one complaint is that if you are going straight draw off the Crafty, I'm hacking up a fucking lung over here. I mean it's not necessarily a bad thing know what I mean?



I'd be curious if the Mighty tamed the vapor a little more because of the increased real estate inside the Mighty's cooling unit.

I like the concept of a glycerin chiller. The Crafty's "grate, or heatsink" is calling out to be 'clipped onto' by some type of chiller, extender of the air path.

There's no doubt in my mind about the power of the extraction. I have been having tremendous success using my new regrind, supplement method. Try it out.

tdub, I know your EVO you have like 20 ELB's in circulation constantly. I'm thinking about just dropping 100 and buying a couple cooling units, keep them in circulation. If that thing is as good as new, your unit should be operating pretty damn well with damn near zero draw restriction unless you're seriously clogged up from using concentrates or any other syrupy blockade.

If you really wanna be anal, and I am; pull the screen out of the bottom heat chamber, soak, brush and clean that off.

I'm thinking if there's a Dremel attachment for a brass brush, that might be ideal to clean the inner walls of the Crafty or Mighty. Brass is softer than stainless steel, so although the chamber might not look OEM factory, it will still have a cleanliness that's to be appreciated and shouldn't scratch too bad if you lay off the gas on the Dremel speedracer. Gonna look into that.

Harshness of vapor with the Crafty increases as the CU gets hotter during the session. Having two or three CUs and cycle through them during the session would probably give you a much cooler experience...

I know it's been stated before in this thread but try mr cleans magic eraser, it really does work wonders without the risk of scratching the oven

Anyone here a photographer with a Crafty (or Mighty!) interested in taking some pictures of my Silicone Crafty waterpipe adapter? My store listing needs some better pictures, but I still don't have a Crafty to get pictures myself.....

Yes this

Still only on 24 hours (had a few new toys to play with and crafty got a little overlooked)

But magic eraser then ISO wipe then air blast gives these results (flowers only)



And here's a close up with flash, and that's the screen reflected on the side not scratches if it's not clear

So my Crafty has finally been sent back for repair/upgrade.

I have a first gen unit CY0619 and have been living with the following faults for too long.

1) over heating
2) long re charge times
3) broken top fins
4) losing BT connection
5) only getting 2 or 3 bowls per charge, max

Fingers crossed for a new 2.07 model, I will keep you all posted.

That is exactly how mine looked afterwards and I was over 50 hrs when I first cleaned it with the magic eraser. I don't know if it is just me but the vapor even tasted better afterwards, I guess because all of that build up that I couldn't get rid of before is finally gone. It also worked juSt as well with my pax, but not so well for my pinnacle pro. I assume that to be due to the small oven space and how difficult it is to actually get in there to clean

I find with the eraser a very very small amount of water (wet then squeezed out) and then it's all about rubbing (think of it as magic sandpaper that only sands the bits you want rid of), for hard to reach parts I use a cocktail stick sanded down to a rounded end (wood so no scratches if it pokes through the eraser, it's kind of a homemade magic eraser cuetip) just use the stick to rub with a small piece (I get mine in big blocks 2ft x 1ft then cut to size) I don't have a pinnacle so not sure if this would work for it but it works for getting the awkward bit at the bottom of my Vapman bowl around the centre pin.

Was looking at arizer air bc of price but I came to the conclusion that I do not like the glass stem on air and everyone says crafty is awesome.

Man so I know this has been talked about a ton. For my Crafty cleaning I'm now turning to hot alcohol.

I take a widemouth mason jar, put 91% ISO and all my Crafty parts. I don't clean the O-rings in the hot alcohol.

Basically just screw the lid on the mason jar tight, using your faucet get the water extremely hot and start pouring that over the mason jar. Fill the sink up with hot water and let that sit.

Then boil a pot of water, add the boiling water into the sink to get the solution even hotter. This way there's no risk at all of combustion, just don't smoke a cigarette when you are opening that lid. Use a little common sense people. Ventilate.

With lukewarm/room temperature alcohol, I still need to take a q-tip to mechanically pluck away at the gunk.

Using this hot ISO alcohol method, the parts come out sparkling clean, no need to scrub anywhere. That little increase in temperature really makes the alcohol do wonders.

I have never attempted the "hot alcohol" method, but I do turn my crafty on high temp for about 5 minutes before dissembling and dropping into a jar of 91 iso which seems to work rather well. I also use a q-tip afterwards to get anything left over

I am very impressed with s&bs shipping. 22 hours ago my crafty was 2k miles away. Now it is just down the road.

Okay some good news. Storz & Bickel just contacted me about my Crafty. They are charging $30 for an upgrade. They reassured me that it will be the newest model with the new casing. I have never experienced customer service like this before. This is friggen awesome!

Does anyone use a spacer other than the pad provided by S&B? Any suggestions?

Hi everyone, just joined FC to say the customer service experience in Europe seems to be completely different - have emailed S&B several times over several days with no response..

I have a completely defective unit - ever since I bought it a week ago it has only worked for about 10 minutes/half of one load before running out of batteries, even if it's plugged in the whole time, and it constantly overheats whether it's plugged in or not, and it takes more than 3 hours to charge back up again.. Without a response from S&B it looks like there's nothing I can do.

It's my first vape so this has not been a great introduction

Sorry to hear that but I am pretty sure Michel has been dealing with the Germany offices.

Rather than email, I would just follow the directions on their website of just sending it to them with a note explaining the issue.

I think others have had similar issues with regards to email, but have been more than happy after sending the unit off, personally I always ring and talk with someone (never had to with any of my vapes but with other things in life) as it makes the back and forth quicker.

Hope you get a response and can start to enjoy your crafty soon.

If you bought it from a retailer it could be worth a call to them if it's only a week old, not sure if they would or could help but might with it being so new.

I would also not recommend charging while using (unless you need to) as this will generate more heat, and 3 hours does seem wrong unless you use it while it's charging then 3hours would be IMO easily achieved.

Also just a few thoughts that probably are not relevant but best to check the obvious first as you mention its your first vape, first if you were using while charging I would suggest charging while leaving it to charge (should be around 2 hours) and also you do know about the 1 minute auto shutoff? (Have to press the button or draw hard enough to drop the temp for the unit to notice and not turn off) and have you had any not normal flashing lights or popup messages with regards to over heating? the unit will get warm but It shouldn't be uncomfortable to hold IME.

I have finally managed to get in touch with the shop I bought it from, and apparently when the owner gets back into the country in a week, he might order more, and I might get a replacement through him. All in all it's been a very frustrating experience especially considering how much it cost and I wish I just hadn't bought it..

My normal pattern of use has been to leave it charging all night and all day without using it at all. Then I get home from work and watch one half hour TV show, using it intermittently while leaving it plugged in. Before the TV show is finished, having used maybe one third/one half of the loaded material, the batteries will be completely drained and the lights will flash red/blue to indicate overheating.

If I do the same thing, but unplugging it while I use it, it runs out of batteries much faster, and when I plug it in after it runs out, it flashes red/blue anyway. So then I blow on it to cool it down until it will charge, and leave it plugged in for an hour or two, after which it will be at maybe 20-50% charged, and I can get another 5-10 minutes use. Repeat until I go to sleep. Extremely conservative use (making sure when it is at vape temp I get the most use possible out of it, et c.) and aggressive charging tactics (blowing on it to cool it down enough to charge whenever possible, et c.) means I can get through maybe 1 1/2 loads in a whole night if I am lucky, careful and diligent.

At first I thought this was just the best experience possible, and was on the verge of giving up on vaping all together (as this was meant to be one of the best vaporisers around), but after reading about it I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be acting this way.

Yep - started using it 10 minutes after writing the last message. It was fully charged, with 1/3rd of a load left. Now out of batteries and overheating and there's even still a bit left in this load.
