Why all the cracking of the housing? Are you guys dropping your units? It surely cannot just be from removing the CU can it? If so that is a major negative for the price.

Haven't dropped mine yet. The plastic at the top is (was since they have redesigned) wearing down through normal use (but likely accelerated by manipulating the cooling unit when really hot).

Yes, it is a negative for the price of the unit, but they have redesigned the housing and have excellent customer service. I have no regrets paying the old price for a Mighty knowing when and if the time comes, I'll get a brand new unit no questions asked.

The plastic around the oven starts to soften after time resulting in the plastic casing chipping off to the point where it is impossible to know whether you have got chips of plastic in your oven.

Vapin' with my Mighty
One thing I realized is Ive never researched on the best breathing/inhaling techniques when vaporizing. What type of ways do you guys use? as in, how long draws do you take and how long do you hold your breath after inhaling? I always take big draws out of my Mighty and then try to hold them in for as long as possible, even though Ive read that holding smoke in your lungs for longer than a few s
econds makes no difference. Not sure if it applies for vapor, though. But yeah, would be interested in your habits and also if anyone as any knowledge as to whats the best way to take the draws, inhale, exhale and whatnot.

Does anybody here have a mighty that has actually lasted? Don't you guys ever worry that by the end of the warranty the mighty will still have you needing to send it in all the time?

I've only had mine for 2 months. But I've had zero problems so far.

I've been waiting for mine to cool before removing the CU....it has no noticeable damage and I think it's a relatively good way to prolong the life. 4 whole days though. I just mean, that I don't really feel like I'm stressing it when it's cool. I did remove it once while hot, and I see where the stress would definitely occur and accelerate.

They emailed me back again, and just told me that if I ever have any problems, to just contact their Oakland office and send it in, will not be an issue at all! Which I knew, but they went out of their way to send me another email after that first one, which was nice of them, as I considered my question answered.

Got a quarter of BHO today  I can't wait to try it in the Mighty.

@hybride I like to rip the Mighty, I just inhale as hard and as strong as I can, get huge lungfuls of vapor and hold it in as long as possible....often no more then 5-6 seconds before sputtering out :p I get waaay to high to count my hits, but it usually vapes for 10-15 minutes doing that technique, with like some time to catch my breath and let the weed start hitting me. 365-375 F

I bought a new unit outright two weeks ago when I had to return a unit with a cracked casing. I got a refund on the original unit so my warranty still has two years to go.

After 2 years I would be happy to buy another unit. These things are that good.

I found that by emptying my oven straight after it was done and blowing off the vegetable matter from the screen that I was able to stop the build up of fluffy resin on the screen. I now leave the CU off after use in the hope that it will let the heating unit cool faster and more effectively and prolong the life of the plastic.

I personally do a medium rate inhale directly to lungs for about 12-15 seconds finishing with a deep inhale of fresh air. Hold it 5-10 seconds and exhale. Typically get 5-7 of those at starter temp and then another 5ish at finisher temp (185/199 C)

I'm on my second Mighty and it is perfect so far. The first one had the power button fail on the inside somewhere which I believe was addressed by S&B a while ago. I would like the new case design but will wait for now. When installing or removing the cooling unit, I press down a bit into the o-ring to relieve pressure on the plastic in that area.

Kind of bummed. I've had my Mighty for about a month and the screen stopped turning on. The unit vibrates and heats up but the screen stays dark.

Emailed S&B and they sent me a shipping label and I'm sure I'll get a new one just fine but still a bummer.

Do you notice where your battery level is when the screen goes dark? I have the same issue going on, and have found that when the battery is freshly charged and I turn it on, the screen will work. When I am down two or three bars, the screen almost never turns on right away when I power up the mighty.

For reference, I bought my mighty in Oct of 2014 and have a unit in the 300 range.

Did you specifically complain about the cracked housing to receive this unit, or was it just a random thing? *new housing*

I'm having the same issues..mine happens with full battery sometimes and lower battery sometimes..no sure any rhyme or reason to when it happens..it sucks cuz u can't tell if it's on or not and it still vibrates and works but I have to turn on and off and physically touch the screen and it will come on..It on happens occasionally so I've been using the heck out of it. I got mine from randy at puffit up and he sent me label awhile ago but I'm still using til I notice it happening more..when I get my minivap I'll send this back for repair or new one..

i did complain about the housing but doubt that's why i got it, also to let every one know , mine has already cracked again at the improved area so there is still room for improvement! at least this one vibrates when its meant to

Did a quick search and although a few people seem to have asked about it doesn't seem like anyone has actually tried it.
So has anyone tried making hot chocolate with their CU is it safe to put in hot milk?
I'm hoping so given the high grade plastic but not sure I'm up for risking it until I pick up another CU!
I used to do it with my mflb stem and that used to come out perfectly clean so hoping it might also work with the mighty and save any need for ISO

Got a brand new unit back! Well done S&B. 16k range with the reinforced top fins. I've noticed the temp meter is more sensitive, it fluctuates around the set temp rather than just staying there. Good to have my baby back, she has been missed. I have been alternating the Mighty with the MiniVap... Mighty is my preference

I own the Mighty, got a $30 upgrade from S&B when returning my Crafty for battery replacement. Anyway, my question is what's the main difference between the Mighty and MV? They seem to be two high quality vapes, and I see you use both, is one more efficient with material, longer batter life? I know both are "portable", and I may feel comfortable taking the mighty on a drive, but I tend to baby it too much to take it on the road.

As far as a good travel vape (I know the Crafty is awesome), any recommendations?

PS: Also have a Plenty, but find it to be go through material at a ridiculous rate (I usually smoke alone).

sorry for all the questions, just trying to learn. After combusting for four decades, vaping is so much more fun and the high is much cleaner, stronger.

Thanks everyone for the great knowledge base.

For travel, consider the pax 2 and grasshopper (which hasn't hit the market yet - read the gh thread here; it'll take up a few days of your life but is soooo worth it!).
