I hope the real story about why he left (probably got booted out because he probably had no experience or technical know how) comes out someday:rip::|

Hey folks, I am thinking of biting the bullet and pre ordering one of these fellas. Im in the UK and not sure if hopper labs are only dealing with US orders first. Are there any UK pre orderers on this forum?

They havent hinted or anything at shipping US first, I would assume they will go down the list, regardless of destination... either way pre-ordering now there shouldnt be much to worry about anyways, I would think by the time they get to your order there shouldnt that many orders to really make that much of a difference so I wouldnt worry too much

Thanks man, their website estimates shipment in late July. I am going to have a bit of a think then maybe order tomorrow. Am i correct in assuming the 'pre-orders' on their site will stop once production units start being delivered? I assume they will just go on sale through the usual third party channels (at a higher price than the pre-orders?)

I don't think anything definite has been stated about their plans, post-production. It's been such a journey just to make the damn things a reality that I don't think many people were even really asking questions about it.

Sure, makes sense. Basically I would just like to order a Ti model at $180, rather than at $250 in the not so distant future. I also think when these things are released they will be permanently 'sold out'! so its worth getting on the pre-order band wagon.

I haven't especially regretted my pre-order at any point, and now that things seem to be moving more concretely, I'm pretty pleased I'm getting in on the ground floor, so to speak. Who knows how much they're gonna go up in price, once it is officially released. It could be 30 dollars, it could be fifty...I'm glad I'm gonna go ahead and have a color ti. I'll have the "best one" or at least, the most expensive one. So if something comes up for some reason and I decide a stainless would be better for me, I can switch, and it'll be cheaper than an upgrade. Though I expect to be perfectly happy with the ti, I'm not particularly worried about this supposed heat increase, I'll adjust to whatever the vapor is like.

well unless they stop production I cant imagine them being permanently sold out lol but yeah I would say your best bet is pre-ordering b4 the shipping really starts. Someone who ordered the end of May was told it looks like Late July and doesnt seem like it will change so around then would be a safe bet (maybe early August since UK) but the earlier you order the earlier you get it

Just received this email from Hopper Labs. It's an update on expected pre order delivery time and development of progression of your order.
Apparently as soon as IGG units start shipping, prices are going up!

June Production Update
Hey Everyone,

June is here and we’re hard at work producing Grasshoppers. Parts are flowing in and we are completing assembly tasks in bulk. Production is looking good. The testing mentioned last update has gone incredibly well and we haven’t had any unit failures. We are feeling very confident in the design. The many revisions we’ve made over the last two years are paying off.



Shipping is what everyone wants to know about and we’ll cut to it. We have units to ship but our pcb manufacturer made an error on the charger. They are currently reprocessing those boards. This has caused a delay delivering the IGG backer units and in-turn pushed the estimated delivery of pre-order units back.

A new system to show real time delivery estimates is in the works. It will keep you updated on your order’s progress and let you know when to expect delivery. For now, late June and into July is where pre-order delivery stands. Pre-orders with an estimated delivery of July are bumped to late July.



There are some changes coming to the website. The estimated delivery dates for new orders will be pushed back and production pricing will be starting. These changes will not affect current orders.
