Looks like a slow vortex drain on that thing..... No thanks. I'll pass

All I want is a damn D-Cycler with a female connection!!
Slow vortex is not a bad thing, it only slows down when you stop pulling.
If you were able to see the vortex while you are pulling, like other pieces that have the return funnel exposed, you would see a faster vortex during inhale, and slow down when you stop.
I don't think you are able to pull water up the funnel while also pulling from the perc, the perc feeds on the water coming down the funnel, so the harder you pull the harder the water will come down the funnel. The water will always find the path of less resistance, and that's the perk with all the slits.
Steven Torus vortex doesn't look much different than an EFS Incycler.

I am confused about all the people hating on the slow drain :mental:

I feel as though Steven freaking nailed this one. It took a lot of tries but he finally got it. Here is a water test video of a real mothership Torus. They are very comparable.
And like @mestizo said, the drain only slows when you stop pulling. When you are pulling it creates a sort of vacuum and constantly displaces the water. So do not fear guys because no matter how long you hit it no one should be getting a drink.

So I talked to Steven just to verify these Torus are actually finished since he was working on finishing 100 straight fab last time we spoke.

He has 50 of these beauty done right now so grab one before they're gone.

Looks like a knockoff of Adam B piece from a while back. This design is starting to get popular but works better with multiple uptakes and higher diffusion perc. This configuration doesn't utilize the fab section as well.

For sure worth checking out for $50 which is about 10% what you would pay anywhere else

I most likely will give it a shot but that's the 6th piece in my cart lol. I should start buying them and clear it out.

My straight fab from Steven is at my local PO and will be delivered tomorrow. I'll be sure to get pics n vids up, I'm hearing good things already.

REALLY like it, but again, it has a male fitting. I WILL NOT buy anything with a male fitting ever again
Curious, why not?

Edit: I got them mixed up, I'm guessing it got stuck? I have a New-Vape e-nail base currently married for life to a dropdown but I haven't had any issues where the dropdown connects to the piece.

I wish it vortexes a little better when it goes through those holes for the FC torus. It looks like the real thing here. Ordering one asap. Hope he keeps his production on check because these knocks are on point with some. If he starts to make his own design that kills he can finally do it for 2 bills and make it a limited drop to take extra time on it for those who are willing to wait and spend extra.

Male fittings on bubblers get gunked up. The vapor flows down over the male joint in the vapor path and gets really sticky over time.

When you reverse the fittings and put the ground glass on the outside of the vapor path (by using a bubbler with a traditional female fitting), the vapor won't accumulate and make the joint sticky over time.

I've got a GB-242 which I absolutely love, but it's ruined because the male end is a sticky mess. Despite multiple ISO and PBW cleanings, my female WPA's always get stuck.

FC-UFOv2 arrived! Slightly different than my FC-UFOv1. The perc is smaller, more slits, slightly smaller base. I'll get pictures posted later today

I suggest anyone ordering from steven ask for their piece to be bubble wrapped really well. My straight fab showed up with one layer of bubble wrap and a layer of floral looking tissue paper that offered no protection and of course showed up with a broken mouthpiece .

Aside from the broken mouthpiece this has some high quality craftsmanship with virtually no flaws, In fact it is so nice looking I am even more sad I cant use it.

:edit: Steven just messaged me back and said he will be sending me a replacement in the next day or two. I informed him of the poor packing so hopefully it wont happen to anyone in the future

Hey everyone, I was just getting caught up with Steven and figured I should post an update.

The UFOv2 is now available for sale with new improved higher joint connection and longer neck

Steven has his workers cranking out straight fabs at the moment and when they complete 100 they are going to work on some other things...

Ball rigs are coming

The drop down donut bubbler is going into production

There is talk of a smaller scale straight fab. Just under 8 inches tall, 50mm can, and 14mm female joint. It will have 2 layers of 3 fab holes. Current full size version is almost 12 inches tall and has 3 layers of 4 fab holes. Smaller version should hopefully be around $50 if things go as planned

We are getting a knockoff of a vapexhale devastator

Hey Guys,

Have been working on this design with Steven for a while, im actually very surprised that he has shared this with another member as its a prototype and ideally I wanted to get it finished (3 different downstems, 3 different mouthpieces etc) before it was out in the wider domain as personally it was something ive wanted to try and create for a while, a modular bubbler setup.

Its way from finished and to be honest ive slowly lost all faith in Steven so kind of happy that this still may see release and it is getting talked about.

I just personally cant work with him.

Its great that he is willing to make these designs but I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him (which actually how im feeling at the moment could be quite far).

Every piece I have received recently has had major faults (cracked joints, leaks, non functioning percs and the replacements have been no better) and has got to the point that I no longer can support him

Rant over!

@polvoman , you're not the only person who has talked to steven about a devastator clone, I've mentioned it to him a couple of times and done a knock up design sketch for him regarding the devastator as well...

The whole scale of the devastator clone looks off to me...
Just IMO, it looks like they should both be like 1/2 - 1 inch taller...
Does anyone have measurements of this prototype?

Also, IMO a joint reinforcement under the mouthpiece joint is an ABSOLUTE MUST.

I saw someone mention they wanted a 14mm male fitting for the mouthpiece joint - no offense to whomever said that, but God-damn-fuck-no!
18mm male allows hydratubes to be used as a mouthpiece - something I very much plan to do, and was a major part of the original design intention...

I would think a stock package of devastator + showerhead downstems + 1 mouthpiece would be best, with purchase options or separate listings for additional downstems/mouthpieces?

I still think it would be beyond badass if they could make a removable downstem for this piece that has an FC-710 diffusion pump perc in it :brow:

Agreed! We share many of the same ideals and strive for similar results Frederick :)

Maybe your the right guy to pick this up and move it forwards methinks?

Im done with Steven :bang:

I've still had nothing but good experiences with steven.
Sucks to hear some others aren't getting as good service...
I guess it's the same as me and CCG...

I'd be happy to keep tweaking the design of the devastator, I'd love it if anyone who's actually seen one in person can chime in on how it looks compared to the original...

Excellent, look forward to seeing updates.

I had nothing but good things to say about him up until a month ago when I started ordering multiples and the quality shot down.

There were loads of posts in the cheap bubbler thread recently complaining about the quality of items he is sending out so surprised you missed those, that said they are probably getting deleted by posters
as he offers replacements which kept me refrained form posting about my experience for a while.

My 2x FC 187 had pinholes in the joint causing major leakages, Im still waiting on the replacements for these even though I am given a promise nearly every day that these will ship "tomorrow".

FC 1000 doesn't stand up staight due to its warped base in 2 places, a crack in one of the pillars leaking water, a 5 " red/brown mark down the side of the mouthpiece.

This was the replacement for one that arrived smashed.

FC 186 arrived with wonky percs and at this point I gave up doing business with him as the replacements he was sending were clearly not from 'premium' stock. The replacement Fc 1000 was simply dirty and disgusting to receive.

I dont expect amazingly quality, never had with Stephen but the quality control has taken a massive dosedive imo (the bubbles in the welding has now got to a joke) and I wont be ordering or recommending him again.

Just for the record I have given him possibly more than 10 chances to rectify and every step he take in the right direction he manages to take two back.

I dont take any enjoyment from bad mouthing someones business even if it is imo deserved.

Glad to hear you have had more success though :)

Dude I agree. I hope his glassblowers are getting a lot of experience. But so far he's 0-3 with me

Sure every piece I have gotten from him *worked*, the quality has always been below that of any other vendor we mention over on the cheap glass thread (Sunshinestore, yingmin5, kathy0577, cleanclearglass - they all have BETTER quality than Steven).

He's got a few cool pieces and what not, but I'm no longer interested in his brand. If someone wants to work with another vendor like Yingmin5 to make these dreams a reality, awesome, I'm all on board.

But Steven has had 3 chances, and the quality just isn't there for me. By this point I think I'm done with china all together, time for me to start investing my money in some American glassblowers!

@blankrider didn't you start a thread for upcoming glassblowers somewhere on FC?

Wow, I dont feel so bad with my 2-6 ratio so much now, thanks Ratchett!

Your totally right, the quality has always been subpar to the other sellers you mention, he just gets away with it as everyone (myself included) gets carried away with the designs.

@blankrider - if there was any possibility of looking into creating quality pieces with American contacts (I appreciate the cost implications) I would be very interested in hearing more!
