I'm a little confused on all of the different "set up so people are using like flexicone, ring, basket, metal ring??

It'll work right outta the box. It only gets better with a little bit of tinkering and thinkering!
The flexicone is a small silicone nipple looking thing. This is used in 90% of setups.. Alternatively there is a hard Teflon cone(kinda unanimous on here that this doesn't seal quite as well as the flexicone)
Next up's the flexicone plus.. This is a version of the flexicone but six or seven inches of tubing formed with it. This is mostly used in conjunction with the screw on lid.
The baskets are referring to the small meshed baskets you get with the MV.. There are large and small versions.. With the added option of picking up some medium sized baskets from any headshop stocking arizer EQ tower accessories.
The baskets snap into both the flexi and flexi plus before being placed into the chamber of the core(chamber can also be packed directly though this is considered a far messier optoon) Out of the box are also the flat cap screens that sit atop the open end of whichever basket you are rocking before attaching to either flexi.
Rings are referring to either the Teflon set(supplied with the Teflon core MV but not the Glass core) or the aftermarket stainless steel(Decarboxylation? Kit)
Confused? Lol.. The rings actually line the chamber.. The metal set add an element of conduction and that means a slight drop in flavour im(and many others)o although does produce faster hits with less priming of the load necessary.
As I said it works straight outta the box.. There is no box!.
But the further you can find yourself thinking outside of the box the more fun the MV becomes.
Any other queries.. Just shoot bro.
I should add that should you have/get a glass core MV then the Rings are not relevant as they cannot be used with this version. The glass acts similarly to a Teflon core fitted with the metal rings.
Adapters for attachment to watertool is a whole other subject.. There are many options.

Ok my next questions is u said screw lid? Is their multiple lids? I think I'm leaning towards a Teflon core..I'm hearing that is flavor town and glass core is cloud town??how is it set up out of box?lol..is it set up to be used just loading directly into chamber?and then it gives the basket and flexicone?so do baskets get used with flexicone?I am ready to get this baby..

Straight outta the box is setup dry.. Either with the small supplied straw or the flexicone plus. This can be done with either a direct chamber load(messier option) or baskets. For WT usage the easiest method is to use the sorta (basket module) flexicone with a herb filled basket capped with a flat screen, with both snapped into place. This is then placed onto your bong/WT and the MV chamber inverted over it to achieve a seal and voila(so so versatile) often a reducer from 18 to 14 is required for a good fitment.
Yes baskets get used with the flexicone And flexi plus though can be used without. This requires the hard Teflon cone(supplied) and means the basket can be dropped into the chamber with the hard cones built in screen acting in place of the flat cap screens used alongside either the flexicone or flexi +.. Oh and only differing colours for lids.. All standard other than that.

Just two rings of differing size that can be fully or partly switched up for the related Teflon rings.
I'd highly recommend the MV as a home unit.. It's only semi portable imo.

What purpose do the rings serve? To have such an important name..thank you for your assistance..

The Stainless rings hold heat between hits better so less priming (heating back up)of the load is needed.
As it adds an element of conduction into the mix it's the general consensus that the taste does suffer a slight hit.. Slight but noticeable. The small conductive element added by use of the decarb kit are supposed to allow for an even fuller extraction.
This, I don't know about really as the newer heater cores seem capable of darker abv right off the bat.

Most basic is wire basket, loaded with herbs, screen on top to keep herbs from going out the mouthpiece, snapped into flexicone, which snugs into hole in the cover, use short stock mouthpiece or add a whip tubing for longer mouthpiece.

Take direct hits on lower temps and then----take 3 seconds to unsnap flexicone from cover, invert into 14 mm bubbler, then invert mV over it for superb moisturized/cooled vapor.
Pic below--invert mV without cover onto flexicone....
mVbskion.jpg

Another of the gazillion and three options:
MFLB water whip where you can take direct hits OR place the 14 mm glass end in your bubbler...

the sky is the limit on options!!

Does anyone have a 2015 Teflon core MV that wouldn't mind posting a video of a quick session or what you have you?i want to judge the differences between my 2013 model and the Current model/firmware.

Good morning everyone, @stickstones said you all might like to see the Blackwood piece I made for this unit. These pieces are 1 7/8"L 18mm as he said, I feel these being such dense woods and Blackwood being one of the most dense on this earth that should hold and retain its integrity surrounding the nipple its placed over for quite a while. These piece were fun to make and I hope you all enjoy them. If you have any questions pls ask and I will do my best to answer!

Thanks Ed.
Your Blackwood piece (above) is kind of in shadow, one can't really see the grain.
In fact, it almost looks like no grain is visible, just solid black.

Would these Blackwood mV pieces look more like your Air? piece in Blackwood?
Pic below.
It has black and dark brown and nice visible grain structure.
Thanks

@MinnBobber Hello and thank you for your inquiry, yes the MV pieces do have the nice black and brown tones it them, I was in a hurry when I shot that pic and the sun light was rather bright. @stickstones has a load on the way to him now of these many more Blackwood than Cocobolo, even has a piece or two with a small burl eye here or there! Thanks again for asking and I hope I have been helpful!

Considering getting an MV and have some quick questions.

I'm possibly going to be trading my Crafty and some cash for a MiniVap. Can anyone with a Crafty/Mighty comment on the vapor quality compared to the MiniVap?

Secondly the unit I'm looking at is silver. However on the MV site silver is show with black accents and the one this guy has is white accents. Does that indicate anything? Is this a very old unit?

Lastly and this goes along with the last bit. Is there anything to look for when getting a used MiniVap? Such as are units made after X date different/better. Were there any major issues with older units? I just don't want to think I'm getting a deal and have it turn out that I got a bad unit because it's older (I'm not really sure what if any changes have been made over the yesrs).

Nice vid. What kind of connector are you using to connect the flecicone+ to the bong?

Love the carb. So convenient. No need to hold the Mini upside down. No need to remove and adapter to clear. Just a finger on the carb.

Hey, I have a minivap (2015 tefCore, I think!) and a crafty. They are both great, and very different beasts. You can definitely achieve darker ABV from the crafty, but using the same amount of 'erb you can get way higher on the minivap... go figure? I think I prefer the vapour overall from my MV, and its certainly more economical.

What can I say, the MV has the edge on vapour, but the crafty isn't that far behind. The crafty is probably a bit smoother than the MV, but I hit the MV dry with the flexcone+.

I love both my kids

Hi Iwien, it's the lotus water tool.
You can fit it directly in the chamber (i've posted a vid) or like here with the flexicone +.
And indeed "just one finger and a lot of pleasure"!:ko:

Don't remember the price, but it wasn't too expensive, it's a very good tool for the minivap.

Thanks. Great idea but I think without the carb and the necessity of taking out the lotus water tool to clear, it would have a tendency to tip over the Mini, eh? I guess I could hold the mini before removing to clear, but I'd also have to hold down my little D020-d as well. Hmmmm.........:hmm:

lwien,
here are two of my mV favs. Finally took a pic of the mV with Ratchett Song + MFLB water whip ($30) + bubbler:
mV%20Song%20bubbler.jpg

On my raised vaping station, no handed operation. Can start with direct hits from the MFLB whip at lower temps, thru the 14 mm glass end. Then just slip into bubbler for higher temp hits.
For clearing: either lift the end of the whip to just clear the bubbler OR lift a corner of the Ratchett Song to clear the bubbler AND the whip tubing.

Can also set hydratube on top of Song---needs support though.
Can use Song and invert into bubbler---but above pic is easier IMO.

Newest addition:
Oregonglassblower 8" curved flared mouthpiece. I think stock is 7" but I asked for 8". Note that he will gladly customize. Surprised that the mouthpiece is very secure with no hand support, it's very light. Between pulls you can leave it without support.

Finding new techniques is great
