I don't know who makes Epic's glass but they are the worst. My gong is so short the screen falls through the bottom so I had to order one from Joda. I wanted an aroma cup but Joda is not taking orders now so I ordered the one from Epic. I didn't think a simple cup would be hard to screw up but the handle is so small it is useless. I know I could send it back and they would take care of me but it not worth the trouble. I'll just use tweezers. Just a heads up for any of you new guys wanting Epic 's glass.

My gong was a bit iffy too. I have both fixed screen and adjustable. The adjustable one is a little tight so it sticks just the tiniest bit pulling the nano off. Sometimes it will stick just enough to lift up with the nano then fall off and land on the table. The bottom is a bit chipped from that.

To be truthful JODA GLASS breaks and the adjust-a-bowl is a Gimmick!

A fixed disc is better!
you may consume more flowers however it's perfect.
the only one who has it is EPIC?

Green goes to brown, n that's what I stand for.
Why do you enjoy it so much? Haha? I feel these smaller pieces are a little more difficult to milk because there's no chamber, but I get plenty toasted, huge clouds, and a very, very clean taste. Still wish I had a nice chambered, nice drag bubbler tho. But I like that this is smaller and probably a one and only.
I just like the look I guess xD. Anyway that'd be sweet with some pearlescent coloring goin on

Arrgh, went to my b in law with fresh animal crackers, and his new nano. Very excited,
nothing. No heat. I brought the cord back home, no power. Hoping the unit is ok, will his test his nano with my cord tommorow. Maybe issues with the cords, but still a pain.

This was my thought when I ordered too. The glass screen gong from epic is awesome.

In regards to nano land, some top shelf red Congolese has my eyes buzzed like only the best sativas can seem to do. One bowl and I swear I just got more and more lit over the last half hour. The African landrace genes are among my favorite for sure.

I love DURBAN POISON (south African) just above J Bay!
This is a strain to make : GIRL SCOUT COOKIES and ANIMAL COOKIES (I have both) ANIMAL COOKIES is a blend of GSC & GDP (this one is all time)
The NANO doesn't let the flavor hide!
CONGOLESE I want to experience!

Not sure, but think Andy is always looking for and trying different vendors to make the glass. I have several GonGs ordered at different times over the past couple years. They are all a bit different, and some work a little better than others - fortunately no major issues or breakage of any. The aroma cup I ordered for a friend was good too, and has a pretty good handle on it (nub on end is out a little past nano wood when on). Hate to say it, but seems luck of the draw has a lot to do with it. Hopefully he will find someone solid and steady that will be long term. FWIW, JODA stuff can sometimes have some issues, too. Certainly not as many, and shouldn't for custom work and time and money involved. Been using my carbed Joda a lot more lately dry on a j-hook, but still stick with epic GonGs for bubblers 99% of the time. My finger automatically reaches to snag the silicone every time I clear a bubbler with the nano on it, whether it is there or not! So, easier to stick with what I'm used to.

Still not a big fan of the fixed disc/glass screen. I have a couple GonGs and pull one out every once in a while and drop a few very small nugs in. Nice change of pace sometimes, but greatly prefer adjustable screen. Haven't used the glass screened stem in forever. IME have to use nugs, and once you stir you'll usually get a little grit on your tongue if not very careful. A small screen "solo-style" will eliminate this, but IMO if you're putting an s/s screen in there anyway, why not just go with that by itself? Also find grinding and using screens allows for a bit more conservation, and not always easy to find great stuff in these parts. Not an issue with cost as much as availability - maybe even more of a reason to get all you can out of every gram. Spending a couple more bucks is one thing. Having to settle for schwag because that's all there is when you need to re-up is quite another!

I have a couple old-school s/s screened GonGs. These are pre adjust-a-bowl. There is a ledge inside the GonG that you put a flat screen on. Is fun to use like this for nostalgia, but so glad to have the basket screens instead! The flat ones sit in a fixed position (deeper than I like) and you have to be very careful stirring so you don't tip the screen and spill the load until it gets a little dirty and stays in place. What's pretty cool about these GonGs is that most basket screens rest on the ledge and are just about perfect height for me. So, they never slide down too deep.

Adjustability may be a gimmick to some, but I still like it and move things around enough that I am very glad to have it. Plus I don't think anything that has fixed depth is as close as I like to be, so if not adjustable my loads would have to be twice as big to have the surface at same distance from heater. That works, but never get the same flavor from the second half of a load like that. You could load same small amount as adjustable and just turn the heat up a bit. Seem to recall doing this before adjust-a-bowls, but haven't played with this in quite a while. Think flavor and conservation are best with smaller load closer and lower heat.

Well, one of the Nano OGs has decided to rejoin The Family.

No big deal.

When you see something sexy in the FC Classifieds, you gotta make your move. Like, yesterday.

Nice vid! Is that a GB187? Looks like it but not sure. Mine is the taller thinner version. GB187 + nano = OH YEAH!!!

Excellent pic, too!

Good news, brother in laws nano had a faulty cord. He is up and running on my spare.
So remember kids if your mew nano doesn't light up, most likely the cord.

YEP! Cord seems to be the culprit most of the time. Not sure how he'd feel about it, but I would always see if I could get a cord shipped out quickly and ask Andy about warrantying it instead of packing the nano up, sending it out, and waiting for return. I still like my old V1 nano with attached cord better, and don't have this option for this one. But, If I had an issue with removable cord nano would definitely give this a whirl first. FWIW, when my old V1 crapped out the issue was in the dial. Other than that, has been going strong for 2 years, 2 months, 2 weeks and I think about 2 days (maybe 5 days?).

Wow, seems like quite a few reports of faulty power cables recently. That's like 5 in the past month. Seems considerably higher than previous reports.

The glass has been tough. Nobody local wants to make little parts. All the good blowers just want to make big custom pieces (I don't blame them) I did find a new source for joints here in SoCal that I have been beta testing, and they are beautiful and consistent. They utilize a new size tubing that no longer needs hand modding. They are longer! They will also have a slight trumpeting (flare) on the open end of the tube which will facilitate installing the screen. This will allow the adjustable screens to fit much tighter in the glass.
I'm taking the aromatherapy cups off the website until I can find a more consistent source or bring them in-house.
Note for email subscribers: There will be a discount coupon for all glass accessories (new and old style) in an upcoming email. If you haven't subscribed yet, now would be a good time.

Thank you for clarifying the adjust-a-bowl concept!
I guess gimmick is not a good choice of word.

In the 70's in HAWAII cannabis was free and the quality was good.

To me CANNABIS is the HOLY GRAIL not screens!

Adjust-a-bowl is NO GIMMICK! Ever roast a marshmallow or a hot dog over a camp fire? There's a right way and a wrong way... too close and BURN... too far and not enough heat... or got too close to the roaring fireplace? It's physics 101!!! Nuff said!

It's easier for me to have fixed dìsc.
Adjustability is not factor in my case!
