New to vaping, tips for this vape? (Herbalaire h2.2)

Any-tips for getting most bang out of it? Things you do to get better results, etc.

I'm trying to switch so I can be healthy, and for that i'm most likely not going to stop vaping but:

  1. I don't really get "high" from decent amount of bud.
  2. Bags seem lack luster for the time.
  3. Whip only seems to give me a buzz.
  4. Dumb question, but can you not get "stoned" on a vape, I use the same amount of bud but its noticeably weaker effect.

I've tried 275-375 temp range so far.

I think i'm doing something wrong, any tips? Things I can try to achieve different 'high' effects?

Thanks!

Welcome to FC, @mrupton!

Try turning the temperature up a little bit. If you're only going as high as 375 F, you can achieve a "stonier" more couch-lock kinda high with a bit higher temp. Try somewhere around 400 F and see how that feels. If you're still having trouble, then....

You're not alone in having trouble switching to vapor. Many people say the same things (not getting as high, etc). It's because your brain has been trained to think that the awful byproducts of combustion such as carbon monoxide, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and other bad things, are part of the high, when they are in fact, not. It takes a little bit of time and patience to get used to vaping, but once you do, you'll find yourself truly getting the most out of your herb. Try browsing through this thread, it has some good advice (some of it may be applicable to your situation, some may not) -- Trying to switch to vaping...

Also as I mentioned before, play around with the temperature. Higher temperatures have more of a "stoned" body high kind of feel than lower temperatures. Check out this thread for lots of info on that topic: Vaporization temperature dependent selection of effects.

And if you haven't already, the herbalAire thread is probably worth looking through.

Good luck! Stick with it for a little while and you'll likely come to love vaping as much as the rest of us do! The health benefits and increased efficiency versus smoking are just two of many, many upsides!

can you not get "stoned" on a vape
You don't get 'smoke stoned', you get 'vapor stoned'. Yes there's a difference. As Derrrpp said, what you're missing with vapor are sedative inducing smoke byproducts. They're not a part of the cannabis effect, just perceived to be. Also sounds like you have a high tolerance level, which also makes the switch to vapor more difficult.

I've tried 275-375 temp range so far.
You should start higher. You won't get any noticable effect below 300F. If I were you I'd start at about 350. That was mostly what I used years ago with the herbalAire. At higher temps (above 400) the vapor will be thicker (but more harsh) and the effect closer to smoking.

Grinding it and puting it to 375 gave it a thick vape, was pretty harsh though. Is there any things I can buy to make the whip better? New tube/mouth piece type of thing.

If you have the TonG mouthpiece for it you can use any GonG mouthpiece with it, like a j-hook, etc.

Definitely use the TonG mouthpiece inverted on a glass piece to get the most out of this device imo. I feel it does ok at whip/bag/direct draw but really really shines when used with TonG over glass.

I also never go a bit above 350 with this device. I find that I get a much longer satisfying session if I just click it straight to 350 and just leave it there. When I turn it up, the session gets popcorn taste within half the time. Well, that's my experience anyways.
