Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

The most important thing is good herbs. I remember Steve at Arizer telling me many times that most of the complaints he gets are solved by acquiring good herbs. Average or less herbs give meh vapor.

It sounds to me like scotty's unit may be running hot. Something tells me it's technique with blazedd.

Tend to agree with you on both points stickstones. Im hoping to get some better herb in the next week or so (good stuff is like gold dust around here!) so maybe this will give me more indication but i do think the unit is running hot so it could be a mixture of the two. Vapefiend have been very good and said they will sort if that is the issue so its not the end of the world but i want to be using and getting good results NOW!!!

hahah, I didn't mean tripping like high as fuck, we were just like what the fuck is this sent directly from manufacturer, tripping like we couldn't even believe a manufacturer would send out a unit like this.

I tried setting at 3 for a while, ground up some buds and watched some clips, and did a small layer of bud, small addition of kief, some more bud up till around 75% filled up and... well I got better clouds and remains but effects are just weak. I keep finding myself going back to the Mighty to get where I need to be or even combusting... ugh. It really annoys me how a cheaper, portable unit outperforms this... especially in vape bonging...

Also.. it was blinking red/green after a while instead of just staying green. Might be something to do with heat, as scotty mentioned - this thing gets HOT. I can feel the heat through the sleeve they included!

i wouldnt fill the elb that much. less is more i find. i usually do less than 1/3 filled.

3 o clock is really high... i usually end my loads at 2:30 and start at 10am. i take a hit or 2 dry at 10 am (preheat 15-20min) then bump it to 12-2:30 thru water. works great.

check that your bamboo is airtight also. if theres a crack it will significantly affect performance. i had a slight crack develop after a year and the taste changed. sent it in and got it warrantied. runs better now than it ever did before.

the key for me to get the best hits is to start with a slow draw for a few seconds, then pick up the pace rapidly as you see vapor and fill lungs. :science:

dont give up on the evo... its the best vape for me personally. may not be ideal if you mainly vape in groups or have poor lung capacity or drop vapes, etc. though

yeah @blazedd here's what I do...

-turn it on all the way up and prepare the elb
-elb gets between 1/3 and 1/2 pack with medium grind herbs
-When the unit turns green, drop it down to 1-2 o'clock
-Wait for it to turn green again
-Once green, put your HT on it and give it a short puff to get the hot air into the elb
-Wait just a couple of seconds and honk on it as hard as you like
-Exhale big fucking clouds and repeat!

Yeah.. hard to transition for sure, the high from combusting is very powerful, I get it. The thing is, the Mighty has actually been doing a great job. I can vape one or maybe two bowls through my bong with it at 210 and get thick clouds and pretty lit. Stays for at least 30 min, the material is a nice shade of brown, cough only a few times, pay less and even have portability. It's annoying the hell out of me.

I'm cool with the high being different, but it's just weaker so far. I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything different when vaping the same exact bud from my mighty than evo. Both have 18mm gong attachment, same glass pieces, same bud, actually end up using less in the mighty. ugh I'm just so fucking lost. The e-nano was the same for me. They either just burn the bud when turned up high or provide tiny vapor hits while still darkening the bud more than the mighty. The EVO has been significantly better than the Nano though... especially with the recommendation of Seek, 3-o-clock and faster, harder inhalation.

Legal California patient since '09, I've only used top quality/high rated dispensaries or delivery services for my supply and tend to over tip tenders/drivers to ensure quality.

Tested the bamboo, it's fine. I couldn't handle starting at 10 and slowly rising, I don't really enjoy long sessions too much. The 3-o-clock method has worked best so far, I think the quick, fast, hard draw really helps, but the high is just not getting there. Also, about the Auto shutoff... it was blinking red/green for long while... shouldn't it blink and then turn off after a bit?

Won't give up on it yet, will keep trying! Any more suggestions are always welcomed.

Just thinking about it, the FC community has been VERY helpful. I really appreciate everyone commenting and trying to help. I love everyone on these forums so much, you guys are great!

No. It just blinks and shuts the heat off. I agree with you when you talk about the Mighty, it packs a whallup. The high from the EVO is not as angry. Cleaner in a way. Every single vape has a different "signature" to use a term @stickstones coined. I think combusting could be getting in the way of you enjoying the different highs from different vapes. Also I never fill my ELBs more than half and usually less than that, like a quarter to a third max. Seems performance is better with smaller loads. YMMV . . .

I agree @t-dub
If your still combusting blazed you aren't getting the full effects of vaporizing. I'd suggest a three week detox from smoking.
I remember the last time I smoked. A few years ago during the summer I was still making the transition. I thought hey I'll make a killer bowl and smoke it up. Topped it with Kief, oil, wax and hash. Smoked it and barely got high. Tasted Like shit. Since then it's only been sweet sweet vapor

Ive just opened a brand new one too, my ELB's look the same. Theres no way Vapefiend wouldve sent out a used item, Im pretty confident of that.

Try it without the full heat sleeve. Mine works much better without it, definitely way easier to find that sweet spot for thick one or two hit extraction.

So currently with currency exchanges being the way they are the difference between me getting a log vape from the US and a VapeXhale Evo from Planetvape.ca is about a ~$100 difference. Now I've previously owned an Underdog which was great and solid, although I liked how low profile it was I did not like how easy it was to tip over and damage the unit due to it being pretty light with a medium center of gravity
Things I enjoyed about the UD: small, powerful, adaptable for bong (primarily use GonG)
Things I didn't like so much: how tippy it was/not bottom heavy so was quite easy for a lil nudge to tip it over. Also how it didn't handle concentrates as well as a nail does (currently running an enail with quartz)

I have read a fair bit on the VXC and am wondering how often do people's units tend to break? and is that the reason the warranty is only one year? Being in Canada most vaporizers are much more expensive than seen at face value due to our currency being so poor right now, so it comes down to the VXC for ~450 vs the UD for ~300-350. I do place quite the value on my unit build quality and durability, so if this is a vaporizer that I should expect to only be use-able for ~2ish years this would be on the extremely short side for a vape of this cost that I would hope to last at least about 5 years (classic volcanos around this price are still ticking). Whenever glass is involved in a vape I instantly get much more careful with it as I am sort of a glass collector/ beginner glassblower so I treat it with extreme care. This in mind I am weary of the people who claim their units have had their bamboo heating areas crack over a few months of use- having to ship it internationally for maintenance on a unit would cause a lot of personal trouble in that customs and other parties need to be additionally involved as well as an additional cost.

The added benefit is that because I am beginning to blow glass I could make my own take on a hydratube for personal use down the line later on. This however, could be said for both units as I think a water attachment sits nicely on a log too

Durability is truly the only thing keeping me from a VXC, I just feel like stories of people needing to send their units in for warranty is slightly too common and worries me when it would be my primary unit for hopefully years to come. If anyone can chime in with their experience, whether it be that the newer batches are differently produced/improved upon, or their own stories of their VXC outlasting their expectations as I find these are few and far between.

Forums are lightning rods for complaints. Nobody knows the real failure rate on the EVO but I wouldn't worry a bit. If it was a problem this thread would be clogged with complaints. The bamboo has been refined long ago and is made with durability in mind. You may wind up killing it yourself but that is not the products fault.

Turn the tube upside down and blow. That works best for me.

what jimdee said. When I had 1 I would turn it upside down and blow then right side up and blow and repeat until dry.

x3 on the blowing through the showercap. I use mine daily and change the water daily and I can almost get mine dry with this method. Raising and lowering while blowing though it helps too. Picture an elephant blowing through its trunk...just be prepared to be made fun of if seen doing this haha

Thanks so much guys. This is definitely the best way to do it. Will make sure I'm on my own when doing it so I don't look like I've totally lost my mind! ;)

I usually only post to bitch or ask q's. Rare is the everything is fine post, we are too busy enjoying our evos :leaf::zzz:

This is what I like to hear, thanks guys this decision is getting easier by the minute/happy evo-ful reply!

Yea I understand @t-dub where you are coming from- people are much less likely to post up when they are truly vaked than when they are dry/ having problems which causes such posts- that was just my primary concern in that the bamboo would deteriorate through normal everyday usage and not me just cranking it to max and forgetting then having a broken vape (would not do this, I am careful with raising temps and as far as I have heard this has a roughly heat up time of 3min which is pretty great and doesn't need to be any faster imo)- I am usually quite careful with vapes- more so desktops than portables so to hear that through normal usage and with proper care (I'd probably consider my care for a VXC extreme haha) my future VXC can last a long time.

Are there heat ranges that you have found that users are more prone to having device damaging or is the general heat range quite flexible and doesn't impact the heating element as long as you aren't flexing it at max 24/7? Asking because you seem like a very knowledge-able and experienced person using the VXC. @t-dub

it might sound like a lot but as a heavy enail dabber (have gone through up to 4g of oil in a week at times or about average 3g)/ light vaporist using the Solo since my UD died, if I can switch to herb mids for even a few weeks on the VXC I would be saving myself a lot of money compared to right now- add that I can get a quarter of top end jar shake/nugs for $20 it really would cut down my weekly cost on bud, I just seem to avoid my solo because of how hard it is to draw a nice hit like my old UD and hopefully this nice new VXC, I truly find portable vs desktop vaping IME to be such a huge difference that I could go from heavy dabs to moderate vaping throughout the day and be just as toasty which is the plan if I go ahead and order this weekend :)

Final Q for you owners: can't find information on how long the cord is, roughly how long would you assume it is?

Edit: and to @BuzzDanklin, you'd say its worth getting the 4pack of ELBs for 25$? Sounds a bit pricey but fair and I could see how alternating between two could get gunky.
Is the gong whip adapter worth it too? I was planning on getting the 45 degree 14mm one for my toro and other glass so the whip part could rest on like my headphones or something to support it and not have all the weight being drawn onto the joint (I have a small 14mm female tube I also would like to pair this with that is quite light so it would tip over if there were a lot of force pushing it to one side). I also have a extreme Q elbow adapter so I guess I could always use that to get a 18mm connection. I guess what I'm asking is if the whip option to GonG connect is worth the money and also does it apply less force/weight on your glass if I have the angled adapter (versus the straight connection whip) even though all of my female joints are 90 degrees? It almost seems like since it would be coming from a higher area (the height of the vapexhale is undoubtedly larger than my tube) that the 45 degree angle would be less stressful on the joint, although I could be mistaken (and please correct me if I am!)- this just seems like an awesome way to handsfree water-filter my VXC

@tennstrong I have only had my Evo ~6 months, but in that time I have been hitting it nearly every single day, and its still running strong for me, I would suggest picking up some extra ELB's because the dirtier they get the less enjoyable they are to use because they start to develop a strong draw resistance when they get real dirty. I don't clean mine quite as often as I should, so its great having quite a few extras.

I have had my EVO, at 2 or 3 o'clock, on an outlet timer that resets it every hour so its on 24 hours a day 7 days a week . . . No damage after over a year of this abuse. My EVO is always on which is the way I prefer it. Heat soaked is the only way to go for me, if its cold I don't like the results. If you could see a pic of the heating element you wouldn't worry about it. It is massive. The bamboo is the weak link.

Get more ELBs. The more the better. I keep a couple dozen in circulation so they can soak in ISO for long periods of time while waiting to be rotated back into service.

So is there any downside to the whip 14mm angled adapter vs the straight one? I would figure that the angle of it could distribute the whip weight a little easier. My prime use would most likely be through my toro hex-13arm or with the glass straight MP (I do enjoy my dry hits on tasty bud), with some useage through a starbud cup for when im sittin back and if it can sit without tipping over hopefully my mini Alex Steppe fume 2 hole spinner encalmo rig- my only concern with that is the weight of the angled adapter might be more than the weight of the enail I have on a dropdown that sits just right, but I figure I could angle the adapter to work in my favor in terms of whip weight on the piece. The reason I'm asking is that currently the straight adapters are sold out but I can't really see much of a downside in the angled ones. Actually after thinking about it I could probably extract the hits in enough density using the VXC that I could just hold the adapter when exhaling using my smaller alex steppe rig, just thoughts..

I've pestered you with questions but I really can't thank you enough for the experienced responses from yourself @t-dub and other very kind members on this thread! I've been looking for a kind of "end-all" vape and I think that this suits all my needs perfectly (not a bag vaporist when by myself and to be honest my friends love connecting their water pieces to vapes which i can't complain about :D). I've tried tons of desktop vapes to be honest par from the VXC, but from every video I see and review it seems to fulfill every complaint I have of other vapes quite perfectly-
for example Volcano: needs lots of bud to load, bags/valves are not enjoyable to clean, bags lose good taste over time.
Sublimator: used a lot of herb to get a good hit which still didn't taste like an all glass airway for obvious reasons and to be honest tasted considerably worse than my UD, also when using the enail attachment it didn't provide the same clean short solid hits that an enail/vids of the VXNail seem to indicate- definitely investing in a VXNail later on when I decide that I prefer it over quartz enail for dabbing, but that may take a while haha. another complaint of the sublimator is that it seems like it is even more dangerous than my enail for useage/burns and ability to tip my piece
Verdamper: heats slowly, provide grody/nasty hits if you don't refresh the water frequently, requires constant stirring for an even heat, took a lot of bud, takes up an obnoxious amount of space but I like the lightshow haha
UD: solid build + amazing customer support, only downside is that it doesn't have the constant temp heating based on your pull that the VXC does, as well as not matching as seamlessly with water pipes as the VXC does although it did work quite well with them, true complaint from my usage would be mainly the heat up time and the "find your own perfect voltage" kind of deal, and i also had about 3 VVPSs break on me during my warranty alone :/, I can't blame UD about that since they don't produce them themselves, but I personally don't like the fact that I am relying on a generic factory VVPS that seemingly breaks or is prone to not working over time and breaking that way

I really think the VXC will suit my needs perfectly since the heating element seems to be much more durable than I previously thought and should last me for years to come with good care-
not to mention the fact that if I decide to go for a vapexnail it might be quite conservative in the future (haven't read into the efficiency of full extraction in the VXC with concentrates, but I always have my trusty enail for concentrates which i have no complaints about except for maybe if the VXC can hit low temps for a nice while then finish off the dab at higher temps.... hmm gets me thinking :))

Final Q for you owners: can't find information on how long the cord is, roughly how long would you assume it is?
I think it's 3 metres. But it's just a regular power cord that you use for PCs, Displays, some notebook sources...
You can easily find a longer one, a more flexible one, or an extension.

So is there any downside to the whip 14mm angled adapter vs the straight one?
Straight whip adapter would be more likely to tip a piece over and more likely to bend the silicone and break the airflow.
And angled ones also work as particle catchers, filtering your water of particles before they can gunk up your piece.
I would use angled.

Thank you very much for this, I suspected it could be a casual 3 prong adapter for the power which is really convenient. Also thank you very much for advising me on the angled one, I thought it would have the benefits you mentioned, I was just wondering why the most optimal adapter in my eyes would be the only one available haha.
Edit: also does everyone have 2 or 3 VXC because they are just that amazing? haha it seems like the only high end vape aside from an UD/HI/PD that people seem to collect multiple of

I sense a Planetvape purchase this weekend...
Edit2: how does it handle hash/kief mixed in with the herb? is there a chance of a too fine hash melting through the elb and damaging the heat? I don't typically vape hash but I do enjoy it if I am able to effectively vape it. maybe more solid hashes like brick hash would work better? Or is it as long as it isn't a full melt it is OK for the ELB? I am a dispensary patient so I have a choice in how fine the hash is if it matters. These cheap hashes/partial melts (compared to full melts) and cheap kief draw me to possibly getting a gram here or there if it can properly handle it, I just don't frequently vape this, but it would be very nice to have as an option

Well guys I'm now officially on the VapeXhale Evo Team. Just placed my order (maybe that makes me a member-en route). Thank you guys so much for all the helpful advice and I can't wait for my new vape to exceed my expectations!
Edit: to add to this- this marks my month long break from concentrate thanks to the VXC, after a month i will decide if I want to go back to the enail or the vapexnail but for now the dab break happily begins with the Evo

Mix in kif and bubble hashes with some flower and you will be fine. Brick hash and pressed kif will have to be ground up then mixed with flower. If mixed with flower in a reasonable way it shouldn't make a mess in your bamboo. If it does, let it cool down, then a little ISO on a Q-tip or something will clean it out. In extreme cases of dirty bamboo some have used wash bottles or balloons on each end to run ISO through. Just keep everything inside the glass and you will be ok.

Sounds great! thanks for the advice on the purchase! more than a little excited and I hope it arrives within the week as promised by their shipping- the VXC eagerness is growing by the minute. I thought that a half melt hash mixed in with herb would do ok and that sounds awesome for the future! For now I wait til my precious VXC arrives and then a month long nice dab break. I found that as long as I dont pack a thick load of kief my bowl would usually stay relatively clean in my UD (RIP) past. Also I will be sure to post up my individual comparisons between the UD, the VXC, and various other desktop vapes I've tried like the sublimator, volcano, dervamper etc...

Edit: to be honest with the whip connection GonG I could see this being easily the most seemless handsfree water vaping experience I've had with no fiddling around/moving with my vape while I'm able to draw from my Toro or other assorted glass. (this alone is a huge draw to me along with it's constant heater based on draw speed)

To add to this, what has everyone found to be their favorite water attachment/hydratube that they have used with the VXC? I am beginning to blow pipes, and with a little practice could make my own hydratube/water attachment to suit my desires down the road

Hello,

Can anyone confirm what the different LED blink patterns mean? So far I've experienced:

- Quickly blinking green
- Solid 3/2 mix of red and green, no blinking
- Quickly alternating red/green

Just recently I turned up the temp on my Cloud and instead of showing red to indicate heating it started quickly blinking green. I switched it on and off, still blinking green. Turned temp up and down, still blinking green. Turned off several more times with no change. I then switched it off and left it off for five mins, switched it back on and it seems to have heated up fine.

Any advice appreciated.

Req,
Anytime this or other glitches, set the dial to noon 12 clock and toggle the switch a couple of times off and on this should reset the unit

Cannabis Connoisseur,
First post here. ...
I had a quick question for anyone with the Swagger Showercap. I was a little over enthusiastic the first time I filled it and water leaked into the bottom chamber. I have been able to get 90% of the water out but a small amount remains - is there a particular method for getting the water out? I imagine knowing would be helpful for cleaning purposes too.

Thanks!

You can do as others have suggested, and blow through the Showercap while raising and lowering, but I eventually found it much easier to use @Vitolo 's method of using a Shop-Vac (Wet/Dry Vacuum). Now, I get ALL THE WATER OUT! (And if your final rinse is with filtered or distilled water, you'll minimize streaking from mineral deposits - for all the neat freaks out there!)
