5 HR Energy vs Cannabis

I think I already know the answer, but this question came up in a debate with a friend. Which is worse for your health? I know it depends on how much of each you use, but lets say daily cannabis use vs, taking a single 5 hour energy drink per day.

How much weed?
I'd say equal?

Idk maybe due to not putting anything in your lungs, the 5hour would be healthier?

Its a hard comparison, are we making green dragon and only having a drink per day?

5 Hour Energy drinks have been linked to a some deaths over the years so I'd have to say they are worse for your health than daily cannabis use. I drank a few of the 5 Hour Energy drinks a few years back and they never really did anything for me that a large cup of coffee couldn't. These days my daily supplementation of Vitamin B12 and Rhodiola Rosea gives me all of the extra energy I need.

Yeah, Rhodiola is a adrenal sooth for most people, along with some fermented B vitamins makes a great healthy energy system. Caffeine on the other hand is a adrenal stressor; tears you down in the long run .

5 Hour Energy is just 12,000% of your Vitamin B requirement, nothing more. It's essentially harmless. You can drink 10 of them and it doesn't really do anything.

http://5hourenergy.com/facts/ingredients/ shows caffeine as an ingredient, and past experience has taught me that I'll get horrific jitters from downing two of these back to back. Strangely enough, just drinking one does jack shit for me energy-wise, but two send me over.

All I know is too much of this could cause a heart attack in a healthy 20 something year old

Energy drinks are bad for women. Studies have linked them to breast cancer. Where's my sour diesel?

Each 5 Hour Energy drink contains 207 mg of caffeine. For healthy adults FDA has cited 400 milligrams a day—that's about four or five cups of coffee—as an amount not generally associated with dangerous, negative effects. These drinks may seem harmless but they should certainly be treated with respect and used in moderation just as you would coffee and other caffeine based products.

Four Loko used to contain caffeine but it was removed from the drink after deaths were attributed to its mixture of alcohol and caffeine. I remember drinking a lot of this stuff in its original formulation and it was really hard to judge how drunk I was because of the caffeine. It was a strange feeling to be totally shitfaced but yet alert and energized enough to stay up all night. In its current form Four Loko is just a fruit flavored Malt Liquor that's really cheap. It tastes pretty awful and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but a college student trying to get drunk on a tight budget. I haven't had any alcohol in a couple years but I'd much rather drink some High Gravity instead.

I did not know that about 5 Hr Energy! Thought it was kind of a scam. I never drink the stuff as I am a caffeine hound anyway.

This discussion reminds me of Sparks.

I had many a fun night thanks to Sparks.

My gut also dissolved into a pool of misery thanks to Sparks, that shit was like battery acid. I bought 6 cases of it for a gathering of friends, like locusts we descended upon them and before the weekend was over we were writhing in caffeine enhanced drunken misery.

It was a fun ride, Sparks, but I'm glad you're gone and out of my life now. Some of the more foolhardy members of our group began mixing in caffeine powder into the "neutered" versions of the alcoholic energy drinks but that chapter is long closed in my life.
