Cheap High Quality Bubbler

Can anyone compare the volume between the FC-186 and FC-1000? Looking for something to compliment my D020-D for my UD. Want something with more volume for bigger hits. The peyote pillar looks like it takes up a lot of the interior volume.
It's a really interesting piece, the "wet volume" (area after the dry first chamber) is actually kinda small, so the piece doesn't seem to take a long time to fill with vapor.
While you're hitting it, it doesn't feel quite so large volume wise.

Then, when you go to clear it, you've gotta clear that dry chamber too, so it makes it feel a bit bigger on the clear.

Ime, I've found that the FC-1000 feels like it delivers noticeably bigger hits than the FC-186
Does anyone have any pics of the fc-186 and the gb-186 side-by-side?

Personally, I went with this one because it was cheapest at the moment

They are called Claisen Adapters and the scientific measurement is 19/22 for that sort of glass. Fits my 186 and 707 with no problems. My EVO comes in the mail tomorrow.. yay! Make sure to get a 18mm glass stopper for the other hole.

Ah, like the cloudbuddy. Thank you. It would be convenient to be able to clear it with a stopper.

Looks like the guy in this video is using a long, plain 18mm male to 18mm female. Don't see anything like it on dhgate. If I can find one cheaper than a claisen, I'll probably go for it.

I think that's a carbon filter. Oregon glass blower has em, http://oregonglassblower.com/GLASS-CARBON-FILTERS_c4.htm

Which piece would be better for flowers straight fab or fc-186 from steven ?
I just ordered both :freak: but the stereo matrix (186) has definitely got to be smoother when combusting/vaping just going by sheer size and amount of diffusion. Gotta love that matrix perc.

@blankrider @EverythingsHazy can we get steven to work on his percs? He could totally make something similar to the seed of life perc on the straight fab, just making some sort of grid across the top of the perc. He has laser glass cutting abilities to make the matrix percs so I assume he could use the same idea just overall to make his percs fire/diffuse better and drag/chug less.

I ordered the fc-186 and the d cycler from kathy..I assume it's the dcycler..I'm pretty sure it said grav klein? I'm excited for my first China glass..only other glass beside the pinnacle water tube and my orbiter is a seed of life sidecar..which was 220 and it looks a lot like the fx 187..lol

So with the Mothership Egg bubbs do the big holes act as a secondary perc for diffusion? Or is it just because it makes a cool design...

edit: Some quick searching shows that it is similar to a swiss perc.

421,
Regarding the ridiculous markups people charge on some dhgate stuff, I agree. But a friend and I were debating this the other day.
Any product you buy anywhere that was made in China at whatever store you are at bought it from a Chinese wholesaler. Do they not deserve to make reasonable profit? In essence they bought wholesale and sell retail. It's basic economics. But to outright lie about the item or to inflate the price is greedy and very shady. Now dhgate, I would imagine, does a lot of it business wholesale and not just singles.
So now If a reatailer charged a fair markup, checked them it for defects, and made sure it functions correctly. Is this any different than any other item you buy retail?

First off, yes, everyone has a right to make a profit. That's the point of reselling.

Secondly, it's called supply and demand. There is a demand for glass, but not everyone is willing to buy stuff online (to protect privacy). Hence why LHS can charge such an outrageous price and people are willing to pay it.

True, to lie about the product and present it as something it's not is shameful.

Lastly DHgate is not the vendor. DHgate is like eBay or iOffer. It's merely a platform for Chinese vendors to publish thier items on a site where people around the world can purchase. The CS and QC vary from vendor to vendor.

Technically yes this is slightly different than buying retail. Typically retail business involves a customer and a business. Here there's a middleman (DHgate) which holds the money until you approve the shipment. Unfortunately DHgate's customer protection policies seem rather lacking, so there's really not much protection to be expected from using the DHgate platform.

For anyone who has the FC-1000 how stable is the neck on that and how easy is it to empty? One of my side car pieces from Steven broke super easy and the hole was small and hard to drain. The other option is the FC-707 but I already have pieces with necks like that so I am leaning towards the FC-1000

I pick it up by the neck - feels fine.

The whole thing feels really sturdy like the FC-187 - thicker glass than most other rigs is the impression I get.

It's very easy to empty.
There are no nooks or crannies for water to get stuck in.
Basically, tip it upside down and approx 1/2 the water will come out, and 1/2 will fall back up into the dry chamber.
Flip it back upright, then upside down again, and just about all of what is left will come out the mouthpiece.

You occasionally get a few drops that won't leave the dry chamber that way, but they very easily fall out of the inlet joint so long as you tip it right.

Basically, Its piss easy to empty so long as you can look at the piece and understand which end of the piece the water wants to come out of...

I gave mine a PBW wash the other day and had no significant issues filling, emptying or flushing it :D

Can anyone point me the right direction to a good but affordable electronic nail? I'd rather not spend $400-$500 on a enail to use on my $60 chinese oil rigs =p Thanks guys

Look under vapor relate equipment for enail threads. This is the glass thread

I personally don't trust China enail. I went with the Errlectric made in the US of A!!!

I also saw this seller and sent him/her a message. I don't remember the name of the store but this seller is instagram poster kaite wang. Another one of their posting is the mothership ball knockoff
*edit Kaite2012 was the previous store. The seller posted a nice egg knockoff, and after orders were placed it came out they were not available to ship out. Not sure what happened in the end, but I've requested more pictures of this piece.

What I find strange is that no one is filling the "small markup reseller" hole. I bet quite a few of us would happily pay a 25-50% middle man fee/markup in exchange for having faster/more reliable shipping, no customs, better CS, and better quality assurance. I guess if there's enough suckers willing to pay several hundred percent over the DHGate price why leave that money on the table?

Still I get the feeling these online reseller's days are numbered if they don't bring the prices down. My 2 DHGate orders arrived in 8 days and the customer service was perfectly fine despite the language barrier (one from sunshine one from steven). LHS probably can get away with it for a while longer since some people prefer to make these purchases in cash in person and are willing to pay more for it but really what added value are you getting for that massive markup if you buy from a US reseller?
