So I tried to squeeze a bit more out of the MV yesterday. Got two hits on red before the battery finally died.

So the bottom line is this. With a fully charged battery on my MV, I was able to get 20 long hits along with 7 heat up times to either green or red from a cold start.

I would imagine that if I was just sitting down for one session with only one heat-up cycle, the amount of hits that I would be able to get would more than double.

So in regards to battery life, for me, it's more than totally acceptable.

To add a bit of icing on the cake, the total time it took to charge a totally dead battery was about 70 minutes.

She's here! Delivery took 11 days in the end. I put it on charge before I left for work. First impressions without actually turning the thing on yet- sexy looking! Got the black portable and the colour of the battery and unit seem to match fine. Quite big for a portable. Wouldn't turn on but I guess the battery needs charging first. Some of the finishing around the edges seem a little rough. I like the stand for charging, and the carry case is really good. I'll have to wait until I finish work to test the all important performance, can't wait

I can't wait to hear you impressions on this alan..I see you have the mighty and love it and as do i..I am on the fence about the mv. Wondering g if it's worth all the money and the hype..I have an air as well and after the mighty it doesn't satisfy me..my flame based vapes still do but the mighty wiped my other out. Eddies my elevape which is a beast stealth mode flavor machine..lol..

Alan and subway, please be sure to do a comparison report of the new miniVAP purchase and your current Mighty.
I'm a super happy miniVAP owner who is intigued by the Mighty but not sure if it is at all necessary being that the miniVAP is so tastey, efficient, clean, versatile, etc ???

@subway13029 @MinnBobber I would love to do a comparison... however it seems I got a DOA! Battery was definitely charging when I left, the little light on the charger turned red. Came back it was green. Screwed the top on, pressed the two buttons for two seconds aaaand.... fuck all happened. No lights, nothing. Any suggestions welcome if anyone has any idea if I'm doing something wrong, but I don't think I am, it looks pretty straightforward. I'll email Alfredo for an exchange but going by other experiences on this thread it'll be a good few months until I can post my review I knew what I was letting myself in for but still, majorly disappointed after splashing out 350 quid.

The power cord has the "brick" with the control lights. When you put the battery in the cradle, the brick light should be red--that battery is low. When charged up properly, the brick light goes to green. Oftentimes, the battery needs to be jiggled in the cradle to get a good connection--for brick light to go on.
Sounds like this step went ok.

Battery connection: when you twist the battery on, it can feel like it is all the way screwed in when it needs another "5 degrees of twist" for the final connection. Then you can feel it snap into place.
Try that please. Look at the battery connection posts--do they look ok? Note that the connections posts are tiny tiny, so it needs to be fully twisted into place, no room for error in connecting these tiny posts.

Hope that works !!

edit--as soon as the battery is snapped in properly, the front and back lights, light up.
Even before you touch any buttons. Back light probably blue and front light (temp light) goes to blue or purple or green or red for the 4 temp choices.

@Alan Partridge - hold those two buttons in for a good ten seconds and see if it comes on. My unit comes on automatically when I attach the battery. Also, like minnbobber said, give it that extra twist.

This kind of stuff drives me crazy. You can bet the first thing I will do after receiving my stock is test all of it.

Their owners manual is a joke--it should have tips like this.

Same last twist when attaching the AC puck for those that have that.

Anytime lights go bonkers, turn off via holding in both buttons for 5-10 seconds until lights flash flash flash and then go out.
Another reset is to unscrew battery, wait 5 seconds , and then re-attach. That also seems to get it to
reset.

IMO, best combination is the flexicone. I'll post picture.
From bottom to top;
- wire basket
- herb
- top round screen which gets snapped into flexicone groove, flexicone itself (soft silicone)
- basket gets snapped into flexicone also. It sits against the round wire screen you snapped it.
NOTE---that top screen keeps herb from being sucked up into mouthpiece
- flexicone just gets snugged into top cover
- screw on cover
- two piece mouthpiece or your own longer whip

Yeah, that's my setup as well but I find find the plastic mouthpiece a tad too hot. Also use the shallower basket. That basket screen snapped into the flexicone with a screen makes it a really convenient affair.

Better pic here of my most common setup. Flexicone module with Ratchet SONG (silicone cover in 18 mm male joint). Then MFLB whip inserted into SONG.


The MFLM water whip can then be used direct--it has nice wooden holder near end and glass joint to put in mouth. Often do this at lower temp.

Then at higher miniVAP temps, just insert end of MFLB whip into bubbler and moisturized vapor for your vaping pleasure. I also heat my distilled water for the bubbler, makes for even moister vapor and even less vapor condenses out with hot water vs room temp water/cold water.

Here is another use for rhe Ratchett SonG is its ability to act as a simple but incredibly effective retention cap when mated with the Hermes glass adaptor.
It has enough of a purchase on the glass so as to be usable hands free Inverted as well as with the Fbomb or similar small glass pieces.
Not used my monster straw for ages.. silly boy!
The SonG should make for really easy switch up to.. It's my old setup which actually required a level of permanence.

Ok gang, I’ve said here before that the MV is a good vape as is out of the box, but the after vapor air path is just too short to adequately cool the vapor and I don’t think the stock stems and flexicone+’s address the problem well enough. But with some kind of modification this vape becomes one of my favorites. So here’s the story on the adapters I’ve been trying to source. I want something that will make it easy to add a bubbler or glass mouthpiece to complete the vape. As some of you have seen in this thread, mestizo came up with a delrin adapter that at first stuck on the top of the cap, making it an 18mm DonG. This worked well, except that it didn’t hold on well, as the connection between the DonG and the lid nipple wasn’t tight enough.

So mestizo redesigned it to cover the entire lid with a sleeve that went down the side of the lid a little bit to give it some stability. This thing worked great and was the only way I used the MV. But mestizo is not in a position to produce these things at the moment, so I have been trying to get another source. Enter our favorite accessory maker, Ed! I sent him the latest mestizo design with the intent of him making them out of Teflon, delrin or even wood. At the end of the day, we weren’t able to do it cost effectively. I’m very sensitive to the amount of money customers have already plunked down for this vape and I really don’t want my solution to cost $50ish.

So Ed came up with something that works and keeps the costs reasonable for the short production runs, and it’s beautiful! This adapter will be offered in Blackwood and Cocobolo. I envision the Coco going well with my Gold units and the Black being preferred with the Silver, Black and Green units…but to each his own. I’m only starting out with an order of twenty adapters, and ten will be for inclusion in the colored MVs that are only available through me. These units will also come with a j-hook to get you started out right. Pricing TBD for the whole package.

I’m also including some of Ed’s Bomb Ass Butter with each adapter for a reason. When I got the second round of mestizo adapters, one of them was too tight and the first thing I did was try to pull it straight off while attached to the core. This stripped my core threading so the lid wouldn’t stay on any longer. This hasn’t happened with Ed’s adapter, but I have been careful not to pull it off in the same fashion. The butter will act as a lubricant with the WonG seal so it should come out as if with joint grease. But Ed’s adapter relies on a compression fitting to the lid nipple, so I prefer to be cautious.

Some of you suggested a 14mm/18mm combo adapter, and we made one but I didn’t like it. Neither size fit as well as the 18mm on its own, so they will all be 18mm. This adapter will fit all your 18mm connections and the central hole is going to be large enough to fit the Herbie whip through for those of you who prefer that method. I consider this a work in progress and am open to any suggestions for improvement, but Ed really did a great job on these and I am excited about them. The only thing we don’t know is how long the tension will last between the wood and the lid nipple. I have applied mine and removed it a dozen or more times and do not notice any softening. Ed suggested Blackwood and Cocobolo because they are very hard woods that should resist softening at the connection for a good while. I leave my adapter on all the time to reduce the number of removals I have to do.

So there you have it. I should have them available sometime late next week. I plan to have ten available for general sale for those that already have a MV, keeping the other ten for the colored units as a package. I sent one to lwien for testing, so please feel free to ask his opinion on it…I know he will give it to you guys straight. Here’s some pics…

I really like how this j-hook angles downward. It makes for nice sipping in bed or on the couch.

When Sticks first said that he was going to send it to me, I didn't quite understand why I would need it. For me, I found that the MV was just too hot to be used without going through water. I tried using just the black plastic mouthpieces as well as the flexicone+ but both caused me a bit of lung discomfort being that the vapor was just too warm. So........I was just using it through water as MiniBubber's pic on post #4822 on pg 193 shows.

The above was working so well, I didn't see the need for the adapter that Sticks sent me, but, Sticks being Sticks, he sent it to me anyway.

Long story short.............I haven't used my MV without it since I got it. As a matter fact, it hasn't been removed from the MV cap since I got it which was about 10 days ago.

It's just so damn convenient. No need to remove the cap when I'm using it with my bubbler. Just stick the flexicone module into the bottom of the cap, stick adapter on cap, screw on the cap and I'm good to go. Never tried it with a J-Hook or that other glass piece that Sticks showed on the pics above simply because I don't have them, but with my bubbler, for me, it's the only way to go.

The only caveat that I had was that after a few days, the wood swelled a bit and it had a tendency to stick inside the bubbler when I tried to remove it to clear, which I have to do after every hit being that I don't have that Cloudbuddy that Sticks has. It never sticked where I couldn't remove it, but it definitely didn't come out easy. Sticks asked if I had any old Purple Days Buzz Butter laying around but I packaged it all up with my PD when I sold it but I mentioned that I did have some Grinder Grease and asked if that would work. He suggested I give it try and.............whalla. No more sticking. He is now supplying some butter along with the adapters which will do the trick.

One thing I do urge those that get this adapter is to make sure that if you ever want to remove the adapter from the cap, do so with the cap off of the MV to reduce any chance of stripping the caps threads. Also, when inverted on a bubbler, if it does get a bit sticky, do not twist or move side to side but rather remove straight up to eliminate any chance of cracking the nipple on the MV's cap.

After using it for a few day, I can't imagine not using it. So simple...........so convenient. My LSV is getting VERY jealous. Hasn't been fired up in about a week.

Edit: I do have a question though for Sticks. When I use the MV with my bubbler, I remove the MV to clear the glass. When you are using the J-Hook or that first glass piece in the pic above when using it dry, how do you clear it............or do you?

I'm not 100% comfortable with all that pressure directly on the short cover nipple.
We were going in a wider direction, like the Dong that wrapped the entire cover and beyond/ down the side.

Now we are back to just attached to cover nipple. Is it possible to add a "ridge" at the very end so it would flare a little wider/ rest on some of the cover---not just attach to the nipple.
On the picture below, the lowest part (like from where it touches the cover to the first black groove)
would be 1/2" ?? wider?

I like this method, with the caveat that you hold it by the lid when pulling straight up. It was pulling straight up by the core with the different adapter that stripped my unit. The moisture from the bubbler makes the wood swell and can get stuck, which is a trait of all WonGs.

Someone asked if I clear the j-hooks. That depends. Normally not, but my last session had vapor slowly drizzling out of the j-hook, so I removed it and cleared. The j-hooks don't seem to get as stuck on since there is no weight to them, as opposed to the MV inverted on top of the joint.

Damn guys! I have the following adapters already:

*14mm MV GonG
*18mm @Ratchett SonG
*14mm and 18mm full coverage DonG

But shit these look pretty and I always gotta support my boy @Ed's TnT..... The MV has become my most used vape at home and I like to play so you really got me thinking. I would like to see a picture of the blackwood too.

Still on topic with water connections....earlier today was the first time I used my 14mm DonG. I really don't get a lot of use out of my PWT anymore but I was blowing huge tasty clouds on blue and was pretty fucking impressed actually! I think I'll go back to that again soon.

Man the PWT is so light you almost don't notice it on top and the full coverage DonG seems pretty stable.

Question for @stickstones .....It's pretty clear you give up some stability for the beauty of the WonG but do you feel it's pretty stable and can it reliably support your glass? I am looking for an honest comparison versus the full coverage DonG which so far is my tops.

One of the reasons I never use the GonG is because I just cannot find a stable setup unless I use it with a whip in which case the Mini lies on it's side. That's pretty much like never for me. I think I tried it once and put the GonG away.

Here is how I'm rollin' through it....

*Start with a large basket medium grind goodies. Yes I said large! This is going to take awhile!

*blue- dry with the VXL mouthpiece

*blurple- move to the tamer

*green- move to the PWT. Huge clouds here! It's kinda nice using the PWT for taste and lack of diffusion as opposed to my 187 which gets a lot of play with my Mini.

As I finish this edit I am finishing this basket. I'm fucked up and the Mini's got clouds to spare and I haven't even hit red. Should have packed the Q basket like normal!

You won't gain any functionality with the wood adapter over your delrin adapter. The only differences are your adapter is 14mm, while the wood is 18mm, and aesthetics. Your delrin will work fine with a reducer.

When I tested the wood adapter I put the dry tube on and turned the unit completely sideways to make sure the adapter would stay on, and it did. I also did this with the unit (with battery) on a bubbler and turned the bubbler sideways (not that you'd ever do that) and it stayed on. I haven't used my delrin since I got the wood so I could test it thoroughly, so I feel confident the wood will give people a good experience. I have only two concerns with it. 1 -- How long the fit will stay tight. We won't know until they have been out there for a while. But so far I think it will last a satisfactory length of time. 2 -- I don't want people to strip the threading on the unit. I did this with the delrin adapter, so I am very sensitive to it, but haven't had a problem with the wood yet.

I don't own a j-hook, but at first glance this setup looks awkward with how it angles off the MV, but then I grabbed my MV and tilted it while laid out on the couch. I see the potential now.

My go-to method of the glass straw with a bit of tubing to the nipple of the lid is still my all time favorite. I guess I prefer sipping for the taste spectrum of the MV.No matter the method.....still lovin' this thing every day of the week.

Yeah, when I first ordered them I didn't know if I would love them or hate them. Turns out I love them. Some will want a more standard one like I will get in the next batch.

Since we are moving house in Monday I have had to pack up the vapor lab... Sad days ahead...
I decided to choose one vape to keep out to be my daily driver. I chose my MiniVap!!
Even in the packing chaos I maintained the flavor snob in me!

I don't remember where I was going with this... Remember it was good...lol!

Only issue I am having is that I mainly use it dry, even on red for a bit.
Tonight I tried through my usual WT and coughed up a lung!!!
Go back to dry and I am okay, just irritated from all the prior coughing.
Very odd! I use this WT with all my other vapes and it performs flawlessly.
Might be the very damp weather, who knows.

Anyway my old TC is still rocking th glass straw from my Vapolution. Love this set up!
Just need to cover the entire tube with Herbie tubing to be an insulator so I don't burn my fingers all of he time.
