Good night, unfortunately couldn't try to fix it tonight. Problem with the allen wrench.. hope all the set up its done for tomorrow. Already bought the bbq lighter so I think everything is in check. Ill upload a photo of how it looks like when I manage to open it. good night everyone.

Good morning folks , how you doing?
First attempt to open and properly fix the iolite failed.
I wasn't able to realise what was going wrong with its system, everything seemed to be okay or at least similar as all those photos where it shows its inside. Anyway, I still tried to do the lighter-igniter work. First I removed the igniter (therefore the whole system) in order to do the exchange. Took me a min to decide which wire to use (
CUxz1iG.jpg
) 2 wires, ended up choosing the purple one -right,shorter-
Tried to make it fit in that blue thing with red ..tape? That I sadly broke in a foolish way. Anyway, replaced it like I could and ended up with a few mistakes:
1)The gas switch, can't make it fit properly (easiliy goes from 1 to 0, stuck in the middle hardly moves.)
2)Not sure bout the correct set of my "purple"(black) of the wire. I connected it to the burner section properly I guess, but still lacks of the red tape and not so sure about the function of the blue round thing.. forgive me for my use of language..poor but understandable I hope.)
3) THAT WHITE SHAPE THAT " HOLDS" THE PARTS, CAN'T MAKE IT FIT PROPERLY.. WHATS ITS FUNCTION?

PHOTOS:

HOW IT LOOKED WHEN I FIRST OPENED IT.. everything seemd decent..

HOW I GAVE UP AND LEFT IT LIKE.. the white 2nd holder position, the wire with the electrode AND the gas switch, doesn't move right.

thanks a lot, not surrendered yet.. later

I apogolize for the double post, its an update .

Here's how I left it. I managed to properly locate the 1-0 switch and it works well I guess.
Still, the spark remains invisible. ATM don't know what do, could anyone give me a hand? Thanks a lot.

It looks like you have not put the grounding spring back in place. The bottom of the ignitor needs to have contact to the metal of the chamber to complete the current path. My guess is you know the ignitor is working by clicking while holding together and getting the painfull HELLO!!
The spring is likely the piece that flew out while opening.? IIRC, I had a similar experience.
Good luck and hope this helped.

Hi there, how are you? sry about the delay between answers..been with some situations and couldn't advance in my vape quest, altough I do have some questions ..

1)pretty dumb.. really couldn't understood what you meant by grounding spring, googled a lot and nothing.. is it a round black rubbery thing.I marked it with orange .. perhaps you are talking about a metalish square that I clearly drew (mine had probably fell while I opened it, wich is weird since I opened it slowly and everything seemed alright).
Therefore , I think that is the issue, I'm needing that rectangular metal piece that makes the contact between the igniter and the chamber (I'm still not getting the spark.)
How or what do I have to get to replace it and make it finally work? Thanks a lot to all of u, I appreciate it, success.

You're on the right track. Check out the photo I posted the link to:

Notice the metal plate inside the box labeled 1? It connects the right end of the igniter to the brass of the burner above. You need that connection to get a spark. If you don't have the plate in yours it must have been done some other way. A piece of wire (say a piece of a paper clip) bent to clip over the metal button on the igniter and contact the burner will probably get it going. As it is now the spark would have to jump this gap too, which it's too weak to do.

Good luck.

so my iolite is having problems igniting. I am able to flick the switch and get it to hiss, and when i press the button i see the spark, but the orange light does not come on signifying it ignited. i've tried reading up on it but I have not been able to fix it. I have attempted tried several times, emptying it and filling it again, and also It's out of warranty. Any help would be much obliged

What kind of butane are you using?

How exactly do I do that? I've tried emptying it by pressing down the nozzle and filling it again but it hasn't helped

Dissolved contaminants in the fuel can be a serious problem. When the butane 'flashes' from liquid to gas (generally right at the tiny orifice) since it can't carry them as a gas it deposits the contamination at that point. Over time it builds up and can easily lead to flow/mixture problems.

Like hard water deposits choking off a pipe.

Sometimes draining the tank normally (but not lighting it) eventually gets liquid butane making it through the port without flashing (lower temperature locally from earlier evaporation) which can wash the junk out again. I'd try a tankful or two simply venting itself away in some safe place.

Good luck. Cheap fuel can lead you to have to replace your Iolite sooner.

So I've tried exhausting the gas chamber by letting it run and expelling gas through the nozzle. I wasn't sure if I understood correctly but is this how I should filter the impurities?

Hello guys,

Few years ago i had an iolite, but now i have an Arizer Air and i have a question.
I remember those iolite screens were so great, does anyone knows if iolite screens fits on the air stems?
Those screens are wery wellmade, but i dont remember the real size of them....

Anyone have maybe both vapes, and could try it? (I'm not a dome screen fan in AA, and i think it would be perfect for my liking :)

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too

I have successfully fitted an iolite screen into my solo stem.

Think it was domed a little though.

Yep, they are good screens.

Is the iolite V2 worth it for $70 canadian? I'm debating between it and the Wispr 2. The wispr 2 is $125 though. Is it worth the price difference to get the Wispr 2?

The Wispr functions beautifully, but has a slightly smaller chamber, with a slightly bulkier shape (in it's squareness)
The good thing about the Wispr is that when you shut it off... it is off... (as opposed to the Iolite which cycles the heat and hiss 2 more times after shut down)
The good thing about the Iolite is that it holds more meds, and can support a longer session.
Even though I loved using the Wispr... when the police raided our home and took all of the vaporizers, I was more anxious to get an Iolite... and did not get a Wispr.
Fact is I waited till Oglesby and Butler had a half price sale and bought two Iolites.
I would buy the Iolite for the cost... use only recommended Butane

Thanks. Yea the Wispr shape is kind of off putting to me. In Canada the Iolite V2 is usually $110 so when I saw it for $70 today I was pretty surprised. I may buy it because I'm looking for a second vape to use when working outdoors or going camping as it seems sturdier than my Arizer Air. I love the Air but I'd like to keep it in good shape and not break any of the glass while out and about. Plus the iolite seems a little stealthier looks wise.

First off, welcome to the Forum. Sorry you're having troubles, hope we can get you sorted out quickly.

I'm confused, though, with the 'plugged into the wall' part. My Iolite runs on Butane, not electricity? Please confirm we're talking about that one? TIA

I don't have mine handy, but IIRC the bowl part (attached to the stem, the part you load) screws on, has it just become loose?
