Senators Approve Medical Marijuana for Veterans

"In a brief debate before the vote, Merkley decried how the current V.A. policy forces many veterans who want to try medical marijuana to seek out “recommendation mills,” where patients sometimes see doctors only very briefly and don’t receive individualized, comprehensive care. Passing the amendment, he said, would let patients consider medical cannabis in consultation with “thoughtful primary care physicians within the veterans system, giving insightful advice and doing it with the best interest of veterans in mind."

This is a HUGE step forward. It's still a step, but a major one.

Once this gets signed off by Congress and the Prez, I wonder if the VA will be allowed to dispense MJ through their pharmacy in those states where MJ is legal.?

Schedule One reclassification could be right around the corner.

This certainly is good news, but it's not a done deal. A similar measure was voted down by the House of Reprsentatives not too long ago. We have to wait and see how the house votes on this legislation. Fingers crossed!
