Your Persei Ti is 601 threads.

Titanium grade 2 works differently then nicrhome or ni 200 wire.

For Nichrome the draw is constant current, but for pure titanium draw is not constant after its up to speed, in fact while the initial 2 seconds the current needed for titanium drops.

With Variable voltages and wattages the issue is that when you put a .8 ohm coil on it and set it to 20 watts and fire that puppy up its supplying 20 watts to that .8 ohm coil, but what your forgetting is that .8 changes when its fired up so your mod isnt making the changes it needs during the power phase to compensate for less power. Its simply just supplying 20 watts no matter what the resistance.

So in theory yes your killing it with over voltage or over wattage, they work great in the ophos and the ophos provides 3.7v with PWM, but its still a 4.2v device.

@bdmonkeyj3w contact support please we will handle it.

I don't believe that's the case with a variable voltage mod using RMS voltage. When the resistance rises the wattage drops. Sorry but those Vw mods you are speaking of are long retired on the market.

So my point still stands, my mod is set to 4.2 VOLTS, the wattage varies based on the resistance. That's why I included power ranges and not single measurements. .8 - 1.3ohm is the range I get on the Ti coil depending on how hot it already is.

Edit: forgot to mention its a buck circuit using 2x 18650

Stoked to finally get some hardcore w9 gear. I just rcvd an 8 w sr74x & core. I took apart herc and cleaned, and it registers 2.27 ohm on w9 tester. I assume I need to be running 7.4 v for the 7.4 herc?

But when I put the 8 top on core, put on w9 510 adapter so I can use the tester, it registers 5.99v. But the display on the core shows 7.4v (and in small letters 5.2v). Is this all correct?

btw the core, when screwed on to my 8 exposes ~ 1/4 inch of thread - it does not screw completely onto the 8. I assume this is a known but non-issue?

I notice from the ohm/volt table in the core manual, 5.2v is best for 2.3 ohm. Just wanted to confirm.

I just received my first W9 gear from "Verdampftnochmal" in Germany. A SR 74x and a Persei.

I have dismantled the SR 74x but notice that the top cap is missing. I have looked in the manual and according to it a SR 74x should have a push on top cap. Should it be there?

The small 5.2v you are seeing is the voltage of the USB port on the front. The core inserts are made to be used with the Persei's beauty ring to fill that 1/4" gap you have. It is indeed an aesthetic issue. You should have a Stainless Steel top cap for the oil chamber. @DrRishi Check to make sure that it doesn't stay in the plastic mouthpiece when you remove it.

Operator error. the top cap was stuck in the mouthpiece!
So I finally identified all the pieces and it is complete (thanks @DieHard).
Soaked all the metal and ceramic in 99% ISO. I wiped down all the plastic pieces with ISO too.
Dried everything off and waited as long as I could until all smell of alcohol was gone.
I installed one of the titanium coils as my BHO is very stable and it is a strange feeling to take at least 0.5 gram of concentrate and load it into a device. Up until now it has been tiny pieces directly on coil or a Ti nail in my bong.

I did a couple of short dry burns until there was no more smell.
Loaded 0.3 gram. I tried longer and longer bursts of power until it suddenly melted and giving off vapour. There is a delayed reaction with the heat. Then loaded a further .3 gram, just loaded it up no special effort to melt it immediately.

This really is a very fine way to consume my own BHO. I think it will take a little while to learn the trick but I managed to get totally ripped trying various techniques. Managed big clouds a couple of times and the best flavour I have ever tasted. Closer to a nail than a coil heater and far more controlled.

Here in NL its not really warm and my BHO is very stable so I am hoping that with the correct cooling down I can limit the leakage from the top chamber. At least after my first session with my better half there was nothing in the lower chamber. I am curious how long the taste will remain so good. It will be fun finding out!

Sorry about the rambling, blame this great little device.

you can absolutely control the leaking once i got my technique down i haven't had a leak since i've only had leaking in my sr71 once ever and that was when my nephew used it for the first time

Congrats! The taste is pretty consistent throughout as long as you maintain a "buffer" of .3-.5 grams. This is the amount of oil needed to keep the coil saturated. Once you start vaping into your buffer, you will notice the taste slightly change and thats when you need to reload. For cooling, take additional 5 sec puffs with no power applied and make sure to rest the hercules on its side when its not in use.

The hercules is by far the best device out there for portable vaporizing of bho. I think your nail/bong setup will start collecting dust once you get technique down and see how convenient and tasty the Hercules is.

W9tech has some issues for specific Canadian residences not being able to pass fraud filter and planetvape.Ca has absoultly zero idea where their shippment of hercs went. I did not know any of this before I ordered the nibbler xl, and when I went to pay for my W9tech order *boom* hit a brick wall three feet thick. Here I am lol

After a full day of successful use of my AC I am happier with my purchase. My old top still cannot handle the double coil but the single works great @ 3.7. It still far from simple, but still not complicated. My biggest issue now is oil spilling out of the dish and coating the glass. Then when the glass gets warm it runs down into the o rings. When I remove the glass, I get s big string of oil. This is probably my fault because I leave it in my car during work.

I also want to thank @SamuraiSam. Even though the problem fixed itself, he gave me a call today to make sure everything was working. He seems real eager to help us out here. Reminds me of @THC SCIENTIFIC with his passion.

So I’ve been running the AC @6v, air flow fully open and the AC Dual Ti hits extremely well with amazing taste. It's larger area allows ease of loading and melt but I still maintain the problem with the bubble over/splash. It caused my cart to stick to the shield tube. As I tried to take of the tube to load, the coil unscrewed and was stuck inside the tube. Having trouble getting it free and without damage I decided to screw it back onto the battery mod and heat the atty up. This allowed them to separate. I find this happening a lot with the large diameter dual ti. So far I've only seen this in the mid to upper part of tube and hasn't leaked to the threading yet. I do wish the air flow control was sturdier and didn't get turned so easily. I also wish this came in a standard battery mod size of 22-23mm. Still a keeper for sure. Definitely a favorite!

I know it's asking a lot, but any eta on the iris. I'd love to run my double coil @ 6.0V

Edit: is the whole AC able to be ISO soaked? What about the o rings???

No official idea but common sense tells me any plastic/silicone/rubber base is a no no but again I have no clue, better safe then sorry, are they not removable?

Update: little high research brought me to this page: http://www.sterlitech.com/oring-compatibility-chart , apparently as long as its not made of nitrile it should be good to soak, dont know if that helps!
