Has anyone seen some good examples of the ABV at different temps for the Air?

I know ABV is strain dependent but want to make sure my unit gets hot enough.
Sorry I don't have any pics but will say Ive seen fairly dark brown abv with just blue setting. (Takes awhile haha)

And I've seen red setting turn it to black.

I keep the same pack all day. So I don't just go though it in a single session

Keep in mind all the variables... Load grind pretty fine, lightly packed, and I tend to be all over the place with my draws but probably leaning on the slow side.

Challenge accepted :science:

Left to right starts unvaped then one stem for each temp, I have had slightly darker results with diff strains, the most impressive thing was the Air managed 5 stems back to back without any trouble, no funny lights just kept going:rockon:

Im back in the vape game finally! Decided to go with the AIR over everything thing else as my new portable. A lot of good companies out there but you just cant beat arizers reputation! Im about half way through the thread so far everything sounds great! Did anyone ever find out the type of battery arizer uses? Is it just recommended to buy only their batts? Any useful tips?

Yes, Centizen researched it and bought a batch of the genuine batteries from the maker, depending on shipping and exchange rates (he's in Canada) he's a good source of the right units. But yes, the general feeling is the factory is the best/safest option and at most not much more expensive than alternatives.

He has a thread on the topic on another forum or you could PM him.

Yes, there are lots of tips. You should personally check them out and decide if they're for you I think, not let others decide for you?

Of all people I was hoping youd respond OF, always counted on you for your knowledge and truth! So far only thing Ive purchased for it is another battery, stem, and the "dome" screens. Hopefully that will kick me off to a good start. Im hoping to purchase a EDS TNT stem as well later down the line if I like it as much as I remember liking the solo.

Thank you very much, honest reliable information is the idea. Informed choices and all that. I'm not alone in that of course, there are many good folks carrying that water, but it's very gratifying to be called out like that.

As to the idea of Ed's stems, I see them as part art form. That is representing something past a way to connect vapist to vaporizer. To me the very fact I have a Bog Oak stem that was growing before the great pyramid in Egypt was raised is very cool. I own it, right here....

But when you're ready to try a wood stem, PM me. I have a few custom stems made from a genuine piece of the One True Cross. Since you've been so kind (Ataxian might say 'sucked in') I might be persuaded to part with one.......

Glad the advice on batteries helped (if not at least amused).

Best regards to all,

@UnshavenFish keeps delivering for the team! Just curious, how did you handle those 5 stems back-to-back? Any trouble?

p.s. Is there blackishness in that last batch of avb? I've never hit the AA on red, so wouldn't know if it creeps in on combustion temps...

No trouble with the stems just fun  but the 0.5g between two SSV wands after put me to sleep , even forgot to turn it off  but it did mean my firefly got a break this morning, seemed a shame not to use the SSV being already at temp :ko:.

And yeah there are a few blackish spots (in the last 3 stems although due to phone camera it's easier to see in the last) it's due to the stems being full so it's just where it touched to oven, not so much combustion more conduction, oven won't reach combustion temps under normal function.

@OF and others...

What are the pros and cons of a wooden stem. Not tried them before. And just wondered how stuff like heat up time, cleaning, flavour, harshness, how hot they get and anything else that comes to mind differs from glass.

That's a HUGE topic, full of lots of subjective opinions, sometimes in conflict with others. For instance, some like the metal end for reasons good to them while others dislike it for heat and other issues. Some of us like the look or idea of the materials, others see them as tools not works of art. Some find the tighter fit a big plus, others decry it fearing it will stretch their seal causing loose stem fit with others amongst their issues. Some are looking for a cheap/easy way to couple to WTs, others never do that. Very personal.

You might want to start by reading some of the comments on Ed's stems in that thread:
http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/eds-tnt-wooden-vapor-tubes-vapor-stems.3342/

My personal opinion is the stock stems are well thought out/tested and serve very well. Then again, it's hard to go wrong with a nice custom stem from Ed.........

Shiiit!!!! You are hardcore... After those 5 stems I'd be talking to Kurt cobain up in nirvana. :ko:!!! At least I'd think and feel like that :suspicious::myday::borg::ninja::freak::haw::zzz: (Exactly in that order!)

It's hard not to lose perspective on the wide spectrum of tolerance levels. We have a guy who goes a month on a gram! He's very active here, well respected (as IMO he should be), for sure 'knows his stuff' and should be listened to but he keeps his tolerance way way down to levels few if any of us can relate to with tiny, short sessions.

We also have another fellow famous for seven gram blunts.

Most fall between........ Some MMJ users can get alarming spikes in tolerance when the need is extreme. Some vape only on weekends (or even less often), for others it's an hourly ritual while awake. Some are on a 'natural diet' for economy, employment, marital or social reasons. Together, we cover a lot of ground.

Personally I'm a 'single bowl' is plenty kinda guy, but I know there are others that will get several sessions from that same bowl and yet others will only have their appetite aroused.

I'm with Ataxian, the herb is great. It serves well at so many levels and tasks.

Yeah, that's for sure. If anyone felt offended or discriminated against, i didn't mean to!
Just compared to what I withstand. To me it'd be heaven or hell :brow:

I only do a partially filled small domed stem on blue..that's it. Already get funny thinking then.

@OF: ataxian, is that a certain strain? If so, what's the taste like? Is it sativa or indica hi?

I love CANNABIS!

Their are Indica's, sativas, Hybrids that I love depending on the time of day!

My tolerance was ridiculous so I cut back and toned it a bit!
Some strains I like maybe don't work for others.
Strains are very personal!

My next oz will be a mix of what works in my case!

Yup, I was pretty much just looking for a few people to chime in with their opinions. There is no right or wrong. :)

I do like the idea of having an unbreakable stem for when im out.

On that topic how many AA stems have people broken? Im only on 1 in 4 months. I hope it stays that way!

I'm on one, too (6 weeks), but recognize that it's only a matter of time.

One day soon I'll pick up at least one back up (I have the short one too, which I've never used), and a couple of stem caps (I lost one of my two and these are definitely important with the way I use my AA), and some domed screens (I'm still using my old supply of small flat brassies, which are working fine but will run out soon).

I broke 2 stems in the last few months i have owned the Air. Also broke a bubbler, a spoon pipe, A magi-cut steel file, a tumbler, the belt on my dryer and a vacuum in that same time as well...

Hi my name is Woody and i break stuff.

Oh... And if your wife ever says "dont use my vacuum in your workshop or you'll mess it up" She is likely right... Home vacuums are not made to suck up large amounts of wood and steel particles... On that note.... Clothes dryers are not made to stonewash steel for 12 hours straight either.... Who knew ??

If you're in the US, PIU sends USPS Priority Mail (2-3 days at most) so no sig required.
So so so awesome.
Thanks for the quick reply man. Probably ordering when I get home. :) $170. Don't wanna do mass drop. Might conflict with me leaving home at June 20th. Too difficult.

Also depends on the order total, IF they insure the package at full value.

I believe anything insured over 200 automatically requires signature. May be 300... But im thinking its 200.

I havent received any large orders from PIU so im not sure if they insure or not just throwing it out there just in case. I know i have to sign for everything i get insured over a couple hundred bucks, and i have had a couple customers ask me NOT to insure their items before because they didnt want to have to sign for it.

Im in the opposite boat. I prefer to have to sign for boxes...

EDIT- nevermind, i see you said its 170 so even if they insure at that it wouldnt require a signature i dont believe.
