sometimes i use my esv like a log vape... therefore i use the stem from my e-nano... it fits perfectly in the bowl of the esv... i also use the silicone ring which came with the stem around the stem for better sealing with the esv bowl...

i am also loading half the amount of herb in the stem then filling up the esv bowl and using it as intended...

VERY intriguing........

So I just got my 'new' ESV 'from Darren'. I ordered a week or so back, it came FedEx and needed a signature (which seems a popular question sometimes). I got no notice from "Authorized Vaproizer Dealer" that it had been shipped, it just showed up in a reasonable time (about a week). I, of course, got a confirmation of the order, but that's it. Don't haunt your inbox, you should be stalking FedEx it seems.......signature at the ready.

It is pristine, at least so far, no scratches, fingerprints (except mine....) with a 'stiff ring' on the loading cover an no sign of it ever being used anywhere.

It's a very early S/N if they are indeed serial. It's A0000XX, nearly 1000 lower than one I bought in Feb of this year. It's also stone dead, won't 'light off' with a draw, so I'm charging it. I don't think it was ever charged (perhaps not even tested in manufacture) since the jack wouldn't accept the plug without some work. Interestingly enough the 'step levels' had been dialed up? One was mid scale, 3 top wack, 2 between them which leads me to believe someone, somewhere bumped them up but never used it?? The charger has a split up the side, but has the protective tape over it, I suspect it came that way and was never used. Likewise the shot cable shows no scratches or other signs of use. The literature seems unread.

One interesting thing so far is the charging current. It's .50 Amps, not the 1.07 the newer one uses. Recharges will be twice as long therefore. Meaning the current ones (which recharge in under an hour) will be a whole lot more useful for some guys. I wonder when this changed?

If it was a display unit I'm thinking it was 'used' to show customers (never loaded) and when the battery went flat was swapped out for a new one?

Anyway, IMO well worth $150 (assuming it works after charging). "Get 'em quick before they're all gone" (again).

I know it sounds terrible but a third wouldn't be all too bad..send it off to get painted or something.
Its time for people on the fence to strike while the irons hot!

OK guys and gals, I spoke too soon. This unit has serious problems after all. Draw is very restricted compared to my original unit. Since it's convection this limits the heat that can be delivered. I now know the reason why the top setting was set 'all the way to full blast', even that doesn't make visible vapor?

By swapping assemblies it's coming from the power section. My used 'bottom section' (even though it's loaded and could use cleaning is also very restricted, while the 'bottom section' of the new unit seems normal on my old power section.

It's possible, of course, that early ones were more restricted (although I can't believe this much), does anyone else have an early and current version one? Do you find a huge difference?

I tried bending the coil down like on the older unit, but that (of course) didn't improve the draw or vapor production.

Anyway, did the draw resistance change after the first 50 or so (before it got to 1000), or do I have a defective unit? Any thoughts?

TIA

I have one of the original 50, and draw is open as long as there's no mouthpiece screen or clogs. I have used a newer one too, and its basically the same, save for small tolerence differences or his personal screen set up (first time I hit it there was zero airflow, mouthpiece screen and lid screen clogged lol had to set him up, it was right when he got it).

Seems defective or something, sorry bud. Good thing they're back ups and you ordered two?!!!

Thanks very much for the confirmation. I was afraid of that. Yup, good show this was a backup/loaner buy, I've still got an ESV doing just fine. I suspect I got a used/defective one somehow. I've PM'd the maker for advice. I'm betting I'll be sending it to someone soon.

I hope others don't draw duds too.

Thanks again for the expected confirmation, I was pretty sure this couldn't be right.

Jack of all trades, partaker of vape
This puppy loves a fine grind! Right out of the box, and after an 8 hour charge (yes, be patient, the indicator will turn green!), I dropped in a nug. Nothing, zero, nada. bupkis. So, I reminded myself the adage - keep calm and vape on! Replaced the contents with some ground herb (S&B acrylic) and voila, some instant gratification. Ya baby, now that's what I m talking about!

Having trouble saving temp settings. Possibly cause the battery was drained. Plugged it in 0 percent and temp settings couldn't change. After bout 29 min on usb charge was able to get a couple draws in. Com busted a little have to adjust temp or draw

You have to email Joe to know that. For starters, should charge fully and connect with a nice cellphone style usb imo, at least the one that came with mine was junk so I use my motorola always.

You could also try flashing your firmware, with the other thing in the folder that comes with the app. Don't know what serial number you have though, or what kind of condition it came in (like if it had ever been used or charged before).

How do I flash the device on my mac. Me serial number is A000062. Everything works just can't see my battery life.

No idea about anything with macs, battery life seeing is innacurate sometimes anyway, I never check my battery level. I on use the app if I'm changing temps, which I rarely do either.

Right its an early number, who knows if its working I wouldn't mess with it just for that feature. Just email Joe and he'll tell you how to proceed.

I don't believe you can. As I understand it the earliest versions need a firmware upgrade first.

Instead, I'd suggest you look for the latest app. My unit didn't show battery level correctly until I found a later app on the web. I also had a problem with my Windows Tablet, which I got later, but IIRC that had to do with not 'finding' the ESV as a USB device (that is I couldn't change heat levels and have them saved).

I suspect the just released app has the latest routines for the battery.

Still, if it's working normally otherwise.......
