Hey guys! It's been about a week now since I've been debating making the decision to get this vape. You guys have answered all my questions thus far. I'm just wondering if you guys think it's worth it to have this vape if I already own a MFLB. The LB is perfect in some situations, but think that the AA has a better chance to get me more medicated? I don't want to feel that it's weak :/. I'm getting too used to my Nano, haha.
The MFLB is a great piece of very simple kit but if not used correctly can combust your load. The Air is a true vape and it is very difficult to get any combustion (which is a good thing).

The reason I mention this is that some people can be a little disappointed by a true vape if they have been partially combusting with another tool before. I try and judge a vape by the results and not the size of the clouds.

I am a very experienced LB user, I never combust and I know the box in and out. I use the box to the maximum potential it offers.

The air stem is pretty much the same thing as the solo stem as in my vape they are interchangeable so roughly the same amout.

That's basically correct I think, the stems are for the most part the same in the bowl area with the exception of the shorter (60mm) plastic top Air stem. It's a 'factory shorty' if you will, the bowl is smaller as well as the stem being shorter. Where the normal stem might be close to .20 grams (with some 'standard' grind like I use), the short one is more in the .15 range? Using a serious dome I run about .08 or so in mine and is my 'go to' stem for light loads.

Utility depends on your bud and tolerance of course. You can't get it out if you don't put it in.......Air is not really magic you know?

No doubt you're an expert (why would I doubt you?), but I don't think you 'followed' what DrRishi said (at least not the way I did, FWIW). In fact, I think you're 'making his case for him'?

Experiences LB (and similar 'open loop' vapes like VG and VM for instance) learn to use the temperature control at their disposal to 'harvest' various parts of the available vapor to their liking, often changing during the session automatically after some experience. The extraction is not uniform through the session. Changing to a temperature controlled vape like Air, Solo, Iolite, Ascent, ESV and so on is an entirely different matter. Unless the user consciously changes things the results are quite uniform and predictable.

I believe DrRisi has an excellent point, surely I notice it and believe others with 'both types' do as well. Even if you're aces with the MFLB I think Air has somethings useful to consider.

If you get the Air you will likely retire the MFLB. :rip:

I think WV has an excellent point here (along the same lines), and one familiar to many of us that have both. My MFLB usage dropped a lot with my Solo, even habitually using the PA with the box. Handy 'outside use' became it's prime use.......and Air basically knocked it out of that box for me (pun intended). I still take one or another of my MFLBs (I have an original, new style and original Walnut custom....) out for a 'spin around the block' but they're going to last much much longer than it first looked like.

Even if you're very happy you should consider the Air I think, it's not 'more of the same'.

The reason I responded like I did is because I'm used to people arguing against the box simply because they aren't fully aware of what it's capable of or how to really even hit it. I forget this is a forum of "professionals" to speak.

On to the real point now: that reply was exactly what I needed. No one has explained the differences between the vapes or what both offer, which really helped me to see the new potential. My thought was to possibly sell my box for the AA, but now I'm thinking I'm going to keep my MFLB as a backup or super discrete portable, and get an AA as a primary portable or a walking around the house vape. I didn't think the AA had much more to offer than the LB but now I realize the differences.
You're a champion man, thanks for that useful reply

You're very welcome. Thanks for the kind words, glad it was a help......that was the intention you know......

I agree with the idea of 'hanging onto' the MFLB. You should always have a useful backup anyway, but IMO the humble box is special indeed. Good for a 'change of pace' and quiet reflections. For a while I carried a spare one in the trunk of the car for unexpected opportunities like the day I found myself driving down the coast on errands and a few hours ahead of schedule and decided to take a walk in the sand.

Hell yeah man! Gunna be weird having my mflb as a "change of pace" considering it's been my go-to vape since 2012. Up until my Nano a few weeks ago at least. Excited to upgrade my arsenal. Once again, so weird having mflb for almost 3 years then BOOM, Nano and AA come into my life. And ohhhhhh it's a good life. I'll order one when I get back to school in a little under a month. Will definitely update you on my opinions. I look forward to owning another portable that I can vouch for as much as my mflb.

I think I will officially be giving up combustion. With the mflb it's somewhat difficult to not smoke sometimes because the mflb doesn't always get you there if your material isn't potent enough, and smoking would fill that void. Now that I have the Nano, my home needs are met and never need to combust. Now I need to never combust on the go, and I'm relying in the AA for that.

Sorry: I just realized I'm in the wrong (but related) forum. Perhaps a mod could move it to the Air. I do the same with my Solos: Three lights, and suckle away.

I just had a nice morning load. It sure vapes evenly. I use "White" level. I suckle it, like a tobacco pipe smoker enjoys his pipe. Using the tongue as a bellows, I'm constantly slow-hitting and/or inhaling. Those curved screens are wonderful. For me, they are worth the cost. Here is a picture: toasty brown - only one pass at White Level.

Great news on leaving blazing behind, that stuff can kill you off early. And burn up your stash.....literally. A 'vape only' lifestyle will drop your consumption significantly (like to 1/3 or even 1/4 of blazing levels) THC is a mighty complex molecule, change it even a tiny bit and no joy. Setting it on fire does that. The money saved can, of course, buy you more vapes to enjoy...... Give it a few weeks of vaping only and you'll see how really nasty smoking is.

If you like the Nano (or other stem vape) I suggest you consider Hammer. Sort of a butane fired super fast one hitter stem vape. And it's in the class with Vapman (not Vapor Genie) in that the airpath is isolated from the fire. It takes a bit of skill to drive, but not IMO as much as MFLB. It's cheap, fast and sure. In fact I may break mine out for a quick spin this very day.

I appreciate the suggestion but I'm needing to stick to battery powered. Unfortunately, my state isn't the most approving when it comes to cannabis and so I'm trying to remain as stealthy as possible. I haven't looked into the hammer much, but I think if I were to get a butane vape I would go for the vapman, I love the design and craftsmanship, although I have no idea on any of the specs of the vapes.

Another contender for a great torch vape is the Lotus. I enjoy it when time won't allow for a AA session. Have not tried a VM but suspect it's a similar experience.
Useful for "vape on demand" style enjoyment. Not to mention the huge hits that are possible.
Having the two different type vapes makes life more interesting for sure...

The hammer looks like the butane and everything is built in?? SO you wouldnt need to use a torch for it. Still a little more stealth than vapman id say.

I think i like the Lily with torch better though... Im pretty sure the Lily will be my next vape, unless i find something else from now till then LOL..... Would be nice to have a plug in, battery power, and butane power... All bases covered LOL

Lily is priced pretty good but buying the house and moving is taking all my chedda... And my knife acquisition syndrome battles with my VAS at every turn LOL

I have a nano air and mflb. All very different.

Here are some lazy scatterbrained thoughts.

I will say the mflb was my first and I didnt kick combustion with it. I have the power adapter too, but the taste I get when using higher temps isn't appealing to me.

The Nano is a beast. I wish it was cordless!!! Or at least had a thinner cord.

Ive had the air for a month or so now, and I'm feeling it. initially i was hoping for single hit it an quit type use but now I tend to use the blue setting with around 3-8 draws. No complaining.
The other night before bed I used the red setting took 3 draws. Got plenty of vapor.
I pack full stems but sometimes ill dump them if I'm looking for flavor. Therefore I go through more material than normally with other vapes or combustion. I dont have much luck with small loads in the air... but maybe if I tried again it would be different. Keep in mind now I have more avb to play with... gonna try tinctures.
I hated the mflb bowl door and needing elastics to keep it shut.
You can't really clean the mflb?

I don't think I would pay full Price for the air. The puffitup price is alright.

Other than the air the new pax 2 looks nice but I'm not a fan of not having replicable batteries. The main reason for considering this vape for me is the size.

The fire fly also intrigues me, but I think I secretly wanted something more fool proof and simple. Plus it has a higher price and less battery. (can anyone with both compare battery life?)

For people with a mflb and no pa, I would save the cost of a pa just go for an air.

Some how after joining this forum I went from barely ever spending cash on this stuff to buying a nano, 2 waterpipes (a pnwt too at some point), an imag+ (died, but if my memory is correct it wasn't too bad, and had the potential to compete with the air.), a grasshopper pre ordered, and then I went and got the air to hold me over till I get the gh. Oh yeah plus all the accessories I got for the air... ha.

I'll be all set for awhile unless the Zion proves itself or a portable nano is released!

Luckily bank security issues are keeping me from dhgate! (has anyone used a prepaid card with dhgate? Pretty sure its not possible but figured id ask)

At first glance the firefly battery's ain't too good and the airs win hands down...
But there are other things to consider here, with the air I normally get between 4-6 bowls/stems per charge, and the firefly around 2-4 per charge depending on how hungry my lungs are, but the air takes around 2 hours to charge and the firefly is done in almost bang on 45 minutes, so I can charge two firefly battery's before even one of my air battery's are done.

..............................................................................
Ok I started typing this :hmm: ok I don't remember how long ago  but it was a little bit, I thought I would do a little checking/testing, and now for the results...(before my eyes shut)

First firefly, 4 good size bowls (about two air stems per bowl) then red battery light and done (pretty done myself also :freak:)

Next the air, pfft not happening, but 4-6 is about right :D but I did do a small load as it has been talked about a bit, I think it can be called small 0.03 crazy tiny for me anyways, so set straight to red, held upside down (air not me ) and got 7 deep draws  no huge clouds but still visible vapour then nothing done finished, quite impressed for such a small amount (should add the air got a little extra heat up before stem went in as I kind of forgot about it )

Quickly scanned this thread for the best price for the arizer air and came up with planetvape as they price match. I have ordered from PV before and the service was great. I'm wondering where the best place in Canada is to order the Air. The exchange rate is killer right now for us Canadians lol

There's also a Massdrop right now with a great price but not sure how that would work for you in Canada though.

It also wouldn't come with the extra battery like PV offers but that's reflected pretty evenly in the price.

Way to take one for the team, @UnshavenFish :leaf: I'm about to take (another)one for, … well, for me ;)

I typically fill ⅔ of the bowl of the AA long stem, leaving a little space at the top of the bowl and a little space underneath the screen I use. If I do that all in a single session a) it will easily be 5 draws with vapor (plus a couple of flavor draws on the front end and a couple of adios draws on the other-- that place appropriately referred to by UnsahvenFish as "nothing done finished"), b) I'll be good and buzzed. And I can do that easily at least 4 times per battery, maybe five; I never push a battery past the red warning light (I'm usually recharging before I get to red but if I turn the AA on and see red I definitely recharge immediately afterward.) I don't worry much about batteries because I have three and work on keeping them all ready to take their turn in the rotation (semper paratus..! Btw don't loose track of that charger, friends : ). If I had two batteries I'd worry a little more about full functionality. If I only had one I'd pretty much be a worrier.

Stay right my friends

Had a great day with the air today. Small load on blue, with easy flow micro bubbler stem - nicely buzzed but productive though
No smell, just opened the window before... So discreet, loving it more and more.. And it was love at first vape!

I'm not close to buying a new vape but saw a vid recently about the vapexhale cloud evo and I was wondering what my fellow AA mates here think about it and if someone owns it and can report - especially in comp. with the AA (I know it's another class and a lil like apples and pears.) and how it competes with the Silver surfer and enano..? Really better? What are the advantages? (Coz it's really pricey ..heard it's pure convection - the other ones too?)

Peace out my friends and happy vape on

I've had an EVO for a couple years now. Just got an air. Still testing it out but so far there is no comparison between the two, with the EVO being so far superior it's not even funny.

That being said, I don't think the two form factors can be compared. The air does the trick, just takes a long time and the ABV never gets that dark. The EVO just pumps out massive clouds, the air , quite wispy in comparison.

So hard to make the decision on the AA. Haha. Can't get it til June 22 anyway when I get back to school, so I got some thinkin time. There's just some mixed reviews. Never anything bad, just "wispy" as an example. I'm not tryna blow clouds all around campus, just tryna improve on a previously owned mflb. As long as it delivers smooth, full feeling hits, and makes one feel medicated, while conserving more than combusting, then I am satisfied. I especially want it to fill the void of not combusting while on the go. Too bad u can't pre-test vapes. All I need to do is test it to see if I want it. :(
Who wants to open a vape testing center with me? We'll buy every popular vape out there and charge 5% to test it, with us kindly providing the herb of choice. Yay!

Has anyone seen some good examples of the ABV at different temps for the Air?

I know ABV is strain dependent but want to make sure my unit gets hot enough.

I love the VapirRise 2.0 silicone hose and mouthpiece. I can hold it with my front teeth and it doesn't feel like they are prying off, unlike the stock EQ hose and mouthpiece.

This duo lets a little air leak in where the hose meets the plastic mouthpiece, and I think it would work well with the Air because fighting the draw restriction sometime makes me feel like I'm running out of air when I'm hiking.

I tried it out for you with my gear, and I am floored. I'm getting massive clouds walking around with the unit in my pocket. With a hydration pack hose clip near the mouthpiece it would be handsfree.
