Cheap High Quality Bubbler

They're both very nice and function as you'd expect so it's kinda hard to say. The FC-187 V2 is definitely the bigger of the two, it feels heavier and sturdier than the D020-D but I actually managed to crack it during the first clean.. I guess I was shaking too vigorously with the iso/salt as a very small crack appeared about half-way down the downstem, between the perc and the dewar joint. It still works fine though and at least the perc is fixed to the bottom of the can in the FC-187 so it hopefully won't break completely. Still not sure how it could've happened really, guess I was just unlucky with this one.

I thought I'd prefer the side-car style of the FC-187 but I actually prefer the D020-D design, and I'd also say the D020-D has a more comfortable mouthpiece for me. Overall, I'd have to say I prefer the D020-D as despite it not feeling as sturdy as the FC-187, I prefer the smaller size and the mouthpiece.

Something else to note... I don't like how recessed the dewar joint is on the FC-187. When I use my E-Nano and GonG, I like to pull them both off at the same time at the end of the hit using my little (pinkie) finger to grab the GonG. Because the dewar joint on the FC-187 is so recessed, the GonG sits too deep and the E-Nano is too close to the top of the can for me to get to the GonG without taking the E-Nano off first. So when I use the FC-187 with my E-Nano, I use a 18mm male to 18mm female adapter and then put the GonG in that.

Thanks for the help. Maybe your FC-187 V2 had a slight crack in it before and you made it larger when cleaning? Thanks for the adapter tip since that is something you would find out afterwards. I still think I am going with the FC-187 V2.

Cheers

People don't really seem to understand how retail/re-sale works. The people selling china glass on instagram aren't doing anything wrong, even if they jack up the price 10x, unless they are saying it's an American brand.

Even selling the piece before actually owning it isn't wrong, so long as when they order it to ship it to the buyer, they make sure it is a good one, and don't just ship whatever they receive regardless of it's condition.
It's their responsibility to order another, and another, until one comes in good condition, before shipping it to the person who bought it from them.

That's just being a middle man, and whoever buys it is paying for that service and convenience of not needing to buy direct from china and risk their credit info, or risk it arriving smashed and then having to deal with the Chinese vendor themselves. A lot of retail stores have catalogs of merchandise that they don't have in stock, but can order for you to come pick up when it arrives. There's nothing wrong with that practice.

Selling a Chinese piece for $400 on instagram without saying it is an American brand, is no more "wrong" than American companies price gouging their customers, and pretending it takes so much effort to make a decent pillar or egg, that they are worth $1-4k. Both are just common business practices, and completely legal ones at that. If a customer is dumb enough to not do research on such an expensive item, and find out that it isn't worth as much as they are about to pay for it, it's his/her own fault.

If you go around trying to blow up people's spots on their selling accounts, you are just going to get blocked, the same way they would throw you out of a bar for trying to get their customers to leave by telling them that the drinks are overpriced just because you could buy a huge bottle yourself at a liquor store and have shots for $1/ea.

Agreed, I think it's funny when they say it's American tho.

I sell my unwanted pieces on CL for under $100 but I still mark them up for a profit, absolutely. But I describe them as 'overseas mass produced pieces' and don't lead them on to think is some name brand American piece and they still sell just fine.

Ya resellers need to get pretty greedy before they stop being a deal compared to what most LHS would charge. The glass market is pretty absurd, messaged a blower on instagram about a pretty simple 7 inch transwisteria banger hanger last night and was shocked that he wanted $400 for it. But hey it sold within 3 hours so I'm the idiot I guess.

Thanks Steven! Loving the 711, it's such a great size and connects with all my gear in stylish fashion. Some close calls but the GonG, NonG, or WonG with all my vapes gives me clearance. Loving the showerhead and a nice, thick tube always works. Good job to both @blankrider and @EverythingsHazy and thanks to @NickDlow again for a great recommendation!

Once again I learn while being entertained, here at fc. Came around a month ago to learn a little about buying a vape and learn all kinds of other stuff (like a little about how buying and selling works) in the process, from some smart people.

Cheers.

p.s. Just to stay on topic, I'm not thinking about any glass at the moment. But if and when I do, I'm leaning toward the 18mm gong. Based on what I read here.

My daily driver with my quartz banger :science:

http://www.dhgate.com/product/mothership-straight-fab-2015-new-height-27/239957059.html#ctabBox what do you guys think of this straight fab? pricey for a dhgate piece I ordered it when It costed $65 and have a few days to make a payment just want your guys opinion on the function and perc also wish he put this perc in the toro instead would totally buy it

I bought the straight fab when it was cheaper too and paid for it. I'm pretty excited honestly--other than the lack of the seed of life perc the function looks fucking awesome. It also looks exactly like a mothership and looks really solid.

I also got the 186 double matrix and can't wait. What are everyone's thoughts on that one? Comparable to a Mobius at all?

Just went to check out stevens function video for the straight fab and noticed he put up a new video of a mothership ball clone! It looks much nicer and more proportional compared to the ccg ball rigs which kind of look like dilapidated kerosene lanterns. Every time I think I have enough china glass steven always makes something else for me to desire.

Ive owned a 60t. 100% comparable. I LOVE MY Fc-186 double matrix. Daily driver. Yes i combust out of if (hides)

Im medicated (the 60t is the mobius model the fc-186 is modeled after, they hit VERY SIMILAR.

hahaha:lol: thats awesome you say that because I'm planning on doing just a wee bit of combusting out of it myself.... shhhh. So glad you think its comparable to a real mobius, I'm now even more excited to get it.

I have a few $5 off $70 coupons if anyone needs one...Must have a $70 purchase ready though because they expire 06/02...just shoot me a message...

I have like 5 too! I think the only thing that makes sense is for people to snag them and use them with the straight fab. Can you use more than one at once?

Lmao that description of CCG ball rig made me literally laugh out loud. Glad I waited for stevens. Gonna order a straight Fab and a ball rig soon. Now only for a , the fixed torus, and maybe eventually an FTK :)

Can anyone compare the volume between the FC-186 and FC-1000? Looking for something to compliment my D020-D for my UD. Want something with more volume for bigger hits. The peyote pillar looks like it takes up a lot of the interior volume.

I thought the beauty of outsourcing was to eliminate the worry and stress from investing in the wrong piece. the thread is cheap bubbler? and to that affect ALL of these are solid buys. so click buy it now then come to the interweb with some content. the last few pages of what should I spend my 30 bucks on is really off putting. no offense but I'm thinking with that kind of penny pinching maybe some of us might consider just moving to China :p

that being said if anyone can inbox me some coupons for the gate I'd like to buy some shit haha. thanks

It's a really interesting piece, the "wet volume" (area after the dry first chamber) is actually kinda small, so the piece doesn't seem to take a long time to fill with vapor.
While you're hitting it, it doesn't feel quite so large volume wise.

Then, when you go to clear it, you've gotta clear that dry chamber too, so it makes it feel a bit bigger on the clear.

Ime, I've found that the FC-1000 feels like it delivers noticeably bigger hits than the FC-186

I'm thinking about ordering a 186 to pair with my EVO. Can someone post a link to an extender adapter thing so the EVO has enough clearance?

EDIT: Also can I hear opinions from someone who has a 187/020-d and a 186?

Personally, I went with this one because it was cheapest at the moment

They are called Claisen Adapters and the scientific measurement is 19/22 for that sort of glass. Fits my 186 and 707 with no problems. My EVO comes in the mail tomorrow.. yay! Make sure to get a 18mm glass stopper for the other hole.
