Yup ob, that's the one. Glad you've got my back. Actually, I think it was Lwien that pointed that one out as being a good one. I haven't ordered one yet. I'm getting another Tooty first. Then, that will probably be the next purchase. :p I'm out of control. When you start seeing me post pics in the boil that oil thread, you'll know it's time for an intervention.

And that's a nice new Zap B. It's got some beautiful grain patterns.

lwien is the one that posted about that one. He has that one and says the stems will fit. the price is right as well. I too am waiting to buy another tooty, but want to see what the next batch looks like.

I can stop (buying) anytime I want....

I believe threads exist that answer this question. you should check the general vape section or ask FC....

I have a HVY mini bong and it works like a champ. I know others have picked up their mini flask and it too works. Several vendors carry them, I picked mine up at my local head shop.

Ok....mindless info....buy hey, I was bored.

Both new(light) and older(dark) zaps heated all day.....temp tested at screen with Fluke temp gauge. Both tested at 294 f.......and after a hit... 287 f.

gosh that seems to me to be a very low temperature. can you measure the heating element itself?

are custom glass pieces available? I am interestd in the econo piece but would like something that is 4-6 inches long. would it be cheaper? more expensive?

or is it easier for me to just get the econo piece and cut it\?

on the subject of bongs, some use 250ml EHLE with these types of vapes and have success. There is a well written review on 250ml EHLE vs the hvy mini somewhere on the site.

Screwdrivers info points out the difficulty in accurately measuring vape temperatures. The heated air pulled through a load is what counts and that temp is higher than he measured or there would not be vapor produced. When you pull heated air through the load, you are pulling air through the middle of the heatport tube and around the heater which is much hotter than the area tested above.
This also tells me I am correct in that the Zap is not hotter but has more useable heat with the new heatport design. The actual heater is the same as with all three log type vapes. The new design gives more ooomph but is not hotter.
I will be checking on the shorter tubes today and will have some more info.

Thanks Rick, I had sent you an email but I am in the Middle EAst studying at a university and the Interenet is not all that reliable and thought it may not have reached you. Its happened to me before with my parents.

Yeah....I knew it was gonna be low, and as Rick pointed out the air being drawn out is much hotter. I think what I was pointing out that the Zaps are very stable temp wise.

Ia! Ia! Vapor Fthagn!
i think the best way to test the temp is use a tiny probe on a long wire put inside a stem without the screen....that way when it is hit you can get the bowl temp.

I would do the same as Devo except with the screen and with a load. That way you get the temp at exactly the correct airspeed restriction. No load in the tip will not give an accurate measurement of actual vaping air delivered through the load under real time conditions.
We can probably do that here in Zapville as we have more access to good Fluke instruments with changes that have happened here over the last year. Not sure how it matters except to satisfy some curiosity because the real test of any vape is how does it make vapor? How thick? How much? How consistent?
More glass coming. Shorter Planejanes and shorter Tootys, maybe 6-9". Different colors. Probably be next week but possibly earlier, depending on how hungry he is.

The difference in heat between the old and the new is a mystery to me, but I do know my new Myrtle gives bigger hits than the old. But either way, I love them both.

I've got my order in for a new Tooty; a little shorter this time and the "new" flattened mouthpiece. Looking forward to trying it out.

Yeah...I guess I opened a can of worms....That's what happens with boredom, my Fluke Thermometer and some Indica....oh and two Zaps.:D

I will now walk away from the Fluke....

Anyhow....both Zaps hit flawlessly.....couldn't be happier!

Hey Rick
I sent yu two emails, you can ignore the first one. I had to add a short tooty to the order.

how did you order this already? did you just give rick an idea of what you wanted? I would like another tooty as well, a bit shorter this time. How do I go about ordering?

Yes ob, just shoot him an email and tell him what you would like. The new batch that Rick has ordered has shorter ones in it. I'm sure he's got one with your name on it!! ;)

told you that you couldn't resist......
