Vapman

When I whitewall I usually heat it several times in one rip - quite obviously not suited for flavor parties hehe.

I agree, given a little time the sippers and cloud chasers gravitate to opposite sides of the party where they mostly glare at 'them', point out individuals to their like minded friends.....whispering in ears and nodding knowingly and all that.

Pretty cool the same unit is so right for each group?

All the concentrate posts make me jealous :), I've yet to try any have to find some first. But I can whitewall with buds if I time things correctly.

I use a knock of PnP hydratube. If you check out Sunshinestore on DHGate.com you'll get it for cheap, or you can by an original from Vaporblunt if they're still in bussines.

@ChippyMalone The problem is that while prohibition might not be heavily enforced within countries, it's usually strict on the borders. But your postal idea seems like a good solution though :)

Oh I thought you got a cheap glass vape for travel, I'd prefer not to try and take the vapman to jamaica with me :). Thanks for the reply.

Brings up a good point. In a better world we'd have 'rent-a-vapes' in popular tourist locations, right? High end destinations (pun intended) would have Volcanoes of course, but for us common types more modest models would make more sense.

Maybe we could get Hertz, Avis, Enterprise and them guys interested?

How much do you think they could get for 'the documented vape rented two years ago in Cabo by Snoop Dog'?

Someone mentioned the lighter's case as a nice case for the vapman as well and indeed... Everything fits inside very comfortable and safe! :D

At least one company in Denver is on top of this: you can rent a Silver Surfer for $25/night, they'll deliver it to your hotel room, it comes with "420 Guide to the City, UBER & LYFT Vouchers" and "Dispensary Discounts + Local Coupons".

Before deciding to go ahead and order the Vapman, I was going to rent one just to compare to the Extreme Q I borrowed from my friend. I feel no need at this point.

I would actually have to disagree, the vapman is definitely designed for the sipper. The fact that you can visibly see all of the flavor disappear in wafts of vapor from the inlet tubes and airholes when you heat it up for whitewall suggests to me that this is not the ideal cloud-chasers vape. Nobody should be aiming to use a vape which wastes terps when used for cloud-chasing (ie: that flavor floating off in whispy tiny little first hints of vapor) and mutes the entourage effect.

I only say this because I would hate to give someone the wrong idea about the vapman, which whilst great, is definitely not everything for everyone! I personally do not think that cloud chasing is fruitful at all in the vapman unless you use concentrates and even then for me only hashes (ie: concentrates that would combust and taste nasty on a nail). I don't use my vapman and continue to use my Mighty for flowers because if I keep flowers for vaping, they must have been INCREDIBLE tasting and I wanna experience that taste!

I find it good for my 70% odd terp/cannabinoid bubble although the inlet tubes definitely need some easy cleaning solution (gotta think of a workaround for this)! Still, of all the vapes I have seen/used, the vapman works very well as a dedicated hash vape - this is primarily because this stuff I'm hitting in the vapman would completely gunk up the heater of any convection vape without using a fair bit of SS and even then will definitely gunk the bowl in a way which is very difficult to clean!

I am not going to continue using the vapman for shatter because my shatters are seriously show-stoppingly tasty and the majority of the taste is muted in the vapman. I have pens which are just as small/light which taste far better and retain the taste in every hit, and my d-nails are obviously way better flavor wise for this purpose (which to be fair, they were tailor made for!).

To me, who being a heavy medical user will put aside as much of my hard earned as it takes for the right vape and have no need to cheap out - the vapman stands out because it is the easiest torch solution I have used, is tiny and is the best portable option for hashes where a nail would be dreadful and a convection vape too messy.

With this being said, the Mighty hands down tastes much better than the vapman for this bubble and is easier to get big clouds with, without overdoing it and getting harsh nasty tastes. You just have to spend so long cleaning it to avoid making it disgustingly funky with gunk - and that heater will accumulate it anyway.

You know though, with the muted effects of anything terpy in the vapman for the cloud chaser, the vapman could really serve an extremely useful purpose of providing very fast, accessible epic whitewall on AVB oils/reclaim/decarbed oils which have little taste to miss out on anyway ;)

I might look into setting some reclaim aside for extra clouds in this sucker!

If you have a flat hair iron, parchment paper, and some A+ nuggets, you too can make your own solventless hash oil!

While I understand where you are coming from regarding taste, convection, conduction etc., I have to say I don't miss my Crafty at all... Or the Lotus or the rest of my convection vapes! I used to be a convection whore but little vapman changed this somehow... Can't find the right words to explain it though, just woke up, maybe later while sipping from my Vapi... :p

Just ordered a basic Vapman from an AU seller, seemed like it would fit well with my UD and MFLB :).

Any recommendations of torches that are a little higher quality than the $3 Honest brand ones? Don't mind spending $30 or so if it feels and looks good.

Looking forward to that toasted conduction flavour, mmm .

All good lol, I am struggling to finish off the last of the day's work due to an early hit of hash in my vapman :p

If you use the vapman directly without glass I could understand for sure how you wouldn't necessarily experience what I'm saying.

Basically the issue for cloud chasing with a water pipe attached to the vapman is that you cannot get the flavor in that whitewall hit. By the time you have heated up to achieve clouds, the flavor has been cooked off long ago - if you have water adapters connected to the vapman, it is near impossible to quickly inhale these fast-vaping terps before they disappear into the air.

Basically, the flavor seems to cook off the goods in the vapman before it is producing any kind of visible clouds. Visible vapor leaks out of my vapman (and generally not the mouthpiece, mostly air inlet holes and the side of the bowl) immediately after I apply torch heat to the vapman bowl - this loss is difficult to avoid!

This is not a conduction vs convection thing either my friend.

My 100% conduction d-nail with pukinbeagle deep dish banger (quartz) and the cluster bomb live resin absolute shatter I'm bhombing into it right now vs the same exact shatter in the vapman is day and night in terms of flavor.

On the quartz enail - I get a whitewall of orange, skunk and fresh plant terps (like a living plant, imagine fresh cut lawn smell) dancing on the palate. Live resin is lip-smackingly good and I heartily recommend that everyone dabs oil that is made from fresh-frozen material.

In the vapman with the same live resin shatter - you see and smell the flavor immediately escape out air inlets as soon as you start to torch the crucible, long before you could reasonably connect the vapman to glass after heating to try and catch it. You get whitewall, but it just tastes like generic earl.

Best toasty flavour ever for me, better toasty flavour than any convection vape I have tried!! :D

Just get the vapman torch mate! Best torch so far for me, much better than the cheap Honests... ;)

I usually do flowers in my FireFly because like @herbivore21 I only keep the extra tasty flowers, and I feel that the FireFly does a better job with the flavor preservation than the Vapman. Unless of course I want smaller, quicker and more efficient hits.

Also, at home oils usually goes on the nail. But when doing oils on the go, with out glass, or when I'm vaping hash, Vapman is superior for me.

Sometimes a pen is better for oils on the go, but they're often more of a hassle than the Vapman.

I love my MFLB flavour even more than the UD - convection tastes pure but I like the roasted flavour that conduction adds.

Unfortunately the site I bought my Vapman off does not sell the lighter so I have to source one locally to avoid long shipping :hmm:.

@Petro you'll find the flavor of the vapman is top notch for a conduction vape. You can tamper with your torch to get convection-like hits or you could roast it with more heat. You can't go wrong with either.

Speaking of torches, any torch can work. Cheap ones can outperform expensive ones sometimes. If you can't find the VM torch, there's a lot of legit ones on eBay like honest torches.

It took me a while to catch-up with this thread but finally I made it.
Felt like a roller-coaster regarding the heating station.
I was so happy to read the amazing and positive reviews on it and so so sad to hear about the recall.
@vapman - the way you handle this setback is really impressive and I'm feeling proud to own a product of such a dedicated manufacturer. I'm sure you'll find the solution for this, and I'm sure I'll get the station once you do.

I finally got my friends to buy a vapman of their own and now they understand why I can't stop talking about it.

I guess the next step is to make them join this forum...

There has been numerous discussions already about lighters, OF posted some links to an ideal lighter ... which retails for under 3 dollars. No need to spend big bucks just get 3 of the 'cheapies' and leave one in each vapour friendly room!

Ps those torch lighters are essentially all the same .. just a question of ergonomics really. X

Pps also a little cleaning trick... i thought my vm was a little congested and after looking at the filter i noticed the little holes were becoming blocked .. even though i wipe it when warm on my jeans and occasionally swab with iso.... to remedy this i grabbed a safety pin and unblocked the little filter holes.. it had become a more restricted draw than id realised. So if you think your vm is a little bunged up stick some pins in those holes... much better performance :)

Yep, that would be this one:
http://www.dx.com/p/jet-1300-c-butane-lighter-1320#.VWSRDcnSO9I

Under three bucks shipped right now, highly recommended. I've used them for a few years now, one with enough use to have the paint wearing off, no problems yet. I've given many away, and have 'handy use' ones in several places in the house, garage and garden. No problems there, either. I have in the past used very low grade gas (stuff I was afraid to use in the Iolite), but now use 'the good stuff' since they burn very little really. Nice large capacity, but still compact.

They seem popular with folks here and on the VG thread as well, I don't recall a negative word?

IMO the ergonomics is 'just right' as well. Very natural 'point and shoot' hand and thumb position in use. I find the 'push with your thumb straight down into your fist' version like the official VM lighter to be second best in this minor area.

Tough, effective and cheap. Hard to beat IMO.

Yes thats the one. I literally just received a shipment of 3 of these just today! My original vm branded broke and in a pinch i bought one locally for £15 .. ouch!

After checking out my new power sources i can confirm that these are great for the money. It is larger than i imagined and has a big tank comparable to the original vm lighter. The finish is a little plasticy compared to the original but certainly of good enough quality. They ergonomics are great and is very comfortable to use. Much better than my 15 quid replacement! Overall id say highly recommended

My original 'sturdier' feeling vm torch broke within 2 months of moderately heavy use so theres many variables to usage and i think breakage is inevitable eventually with all these lighters its just luck of the draw when yours craps out. X

Ps fits perfectly in the vm box with broken down vm as well :) ... what more do you want!

Well a spare or two for us paranoids? No, you've got that covered too. Hopefully your lighter needs are covered for a while. FWIW I usually take the silly cap and chain off unless I'm leaving it outside. In routine use it's just a hassle IMO.

I figure if one dies I can throw it out with clear conscience. They're not much more than a Bic disposable that holds less fuel.

Glad you like 'em, spread the word........

I know that if I had never received one of those "power" branded cheap torches @OF posted a link to with another torch powered vape I would still be screwing around with battery chargers a few times a day and would never have bought a Vapman in the first place.

After spending way too much money over a few years on expensive torch type cigar and pipe "lighters" I had more then just a slight dislike of anything torch powered.
These cheaper torches are made to be used like more of a tool where-as most torch style cigar/pipe Lighters are just fancy looking fashion accessories that may last a week if your lucky when your using it to the extent we do to vape.

If you need to get one a little quicker then ordering from China/Hong-Kong you can pick one up from Triihouse(maker of the Daisy and Lily) for $5.00

I've had great luck with my vapman torch too I like the look and feel of it a little more then the power torch and it hasn't failed me yet. neither have the two I gave to family last X-mas that see daily use.

Three weeks ago, me and my friends celebrated my upcoming wedding with a short trip to Amsterdam.
Both of them planned to buy their own vapman. The thing is that we couldn't find it. When we did find it, the shop owner was so surprised that we asked for it (he got only one of it).
In another shop, the owner said he got to know the vapman through an American friend and he liked it a lot.
He said that it's not too familiar in Europe, but it's a hit at USA. is it true? and if so, why is it? is it a product in a small market at Europe?

I was searching vapman on Instagram, and only found FC members or others from the US, Although I did see some people in South America have one.

I think it has to do more with Americas interest in all vaporizers than it does with vapmans popularity. Vapes are increasing in Europe though, but most still light up I think?

European members please chime in haha

Yeah, I think with the exeption of rolling proper joints the US and Canada are far ahead of most of Europe when it comes to all things cannabis.

Also, most vapes are made for either weed or high end full melts. In big parts of Europe hash is the king, because prohibition makes smuggling proffitable, and if your goal is to get say two tonnes of cannabis from the Rif mountains in Morroco to Denmark or the like it's a lot easier when it's compressed into 100 gram bricks or whatever.

So a lot of people try a vape in Amsterdam or something, and they ask if it can do hash, and the budtender says no with out further explanation and they say ok, and they go home and tell their friends about this baloon novelty thing they tried in the Dam while they smoke a big fat tobacco spliff.

Little did they know the Vapman loooves heating up hasj for you ;)

I have no reason to doubt him, if it were otherwise I'm sure he'd have stock for customers with cash. As to why our European Brothers and Sisters aren't on board when the source is so much closer I can only assume it's because they don't read FC enough. While I get it there's a language issue and all, and EU supply can sometimes be hampered by high customs and other costs, but if they were only resourceful enough to come here they too would be in on the secret.

Sad, isn't it?

I wonder how many of the 100 Heating Station buyers are FC Members.........
