Now i actually am from India and to my disappointment saw PIU isn't shipping to India ..

Now i left a message to the folks there if they can make an exception ship a unit to my address .. :|

What do you think guys could this work i haven't heard from em in like more than 12 hours now .. wrote to ( info@puffitup.com ) .. And if i get a negative from there.. can you recommend a place who ships worldwide?

First of all, hello, welcome to the Forum. I think you've summed it up right, lots of great folks and dependable information. Sorry to here PIU is causing problems, I can understand on how they want to avoid hundreds of different regulations. Perhaps they can work with you, I wouldn't be surprised, but don't expect it today.....it's a national Holiday here. Hopefully Randy is sharing it with his family. Give him a bit more time.

On a positive note we have several members from India. Getting 'the good stuff' there can be done. I suggest you post about that ('how to get vapes shipped to India') in the "ask FC" thread in the mean time.

Good luck sourcing your Solo, it may take some extra effort but I'm sure you'll agree it was worth it?

@salvationfreak And a second welcome aboard to the Solo thread and FC. I was going to suggest Planetvape and I see @macbill beat to it.

The Solo, Enano and the Arizer Air are the vaporizers I've been using here lately. You can't go wrong with the Solo's vapor quality and the ease of use. It's also hardly anything to clean.

The Solo is very versatile and can be used with many different water tools. I think the best portable for the buck - in my opinion.

EDIT
I just asked Planetvape on the FC thread if they ship to India. It might help others as well.

If PIU is unable maybe Dope Fiend out of England or

Planet Vape out of Canada.
Yeah i came across that site as well .. but its costing me a little bit more of what puffitup is offering ..

And yeah vapefind too is a fine place to shop.. i left them a email .. came across this fine gentleman who offered me a 10GBP discount as well.

I am surfing my options right now .. this is a good community i came across.. really digging it..

Will wait to hear from PIU .. lets see what they have to offer .. i know they may hook me up a good deal there.. lets see :)

I agree, folks confuse stems for the units they're plugged into sometimes. The stems interchange, using the same stem on Solo is 'identical' to that stem on Air. The units are basically the same.

Yes, restriction was removed (basically eliminating the 'advantage' of PVHES IMO) but that's not necessarily an advantage. Ever wonder why they made it so restricted to start with? They're not stupid you know......

It's really a false perception, you don't get any more vapor per minute......that's set by the heat provided to the load, not how much extra cold air is drawn in. It makes 'hitting it hard and fast' but the hits are thinner (yes, I know I'm about to get hit with a bunch of negative response but that's what the rules of science say happens). Hits are easier but thinner. Drawing more cold air into the load simply 'steals' heat that would otherwise make vapor. Hit it hard enough and vapor drops to nearly zero.

With that change we also got 'use while charging', IMO a poor exchange. True PA has some real advantage. If you're lucky enough to find an 'old style' (used) I'd jump on it, you can always buy a PVHES to 'correct' the restriction if you want but the new style is harder on the battery, and can lead to earlier failure....much earlier for those who 'keep it plugged in all the time, so it's always ready to go'. I'm sure you know laptops and cell phones that now have very short battery life from this? Simply storing it at 100% will kill the battery early even if you never use it.

Damn, I didn't think this could get more complicated, :ko:. I have about a week left to pick a vape and I feel like I'm cramming for a test,.

Really though, I'm not a heavy/frequent smoker by any means so the newer Solo would probably work just fine for now. I really just want to make sure I'm getting the best vape for my buck though since it is a bit of a small investment.

Is there anyone else that's been able to compare the older and newer Solos? Is the difference somewhat negligible?

There are a few sellers on ebay that ship international if that's an option for you.

***Oh, just saw your concerns about ebay. I am in a similar boat because I've seen the knock offs, especially of the pinnacles on there. I think the sellers authorized by Arizer should be legit though, but not 100% sure.

That $119 price tag is just enough of a cost difference to turn my head from the Air. Is that seller 100% legit and for sure an authorized dealer? I know there have been some shady deals on ebay with knock offs of some models and what not. It's definitely the best price on a Solo I think I've seen so far.

If the only difference really is portability, I wouldn't mind paying $40 less for a Solo but there seem to be people on both sides saying that one hits better than the other.
If you didn't have good vapor quality or clouds with that Solo you were using, there must of been something wrong with it. You said you had good quality herb.

The newer 2014 Solo has better air flow. You won't have to draw so hard. Also Planetvape sells many stems to solve any hard draw issues one might have anyway, for those folks with breathing issues. The battery lasts 2+ hours in the beginning. I think it's damn near perfect, it just needs to grind my herb for me. :lol:It's slightly on the bulky side far as a portable goes these days, but that's the only draw back IMO.

EDIT
The 2014 Solo you can use and charge at the same time.

Ebay sure looks cheap but i still am a little skeptical to be honest. Plus i don't know how the sellers there follow up with warranty and all. I wont mind a little extra for that satisfaction to buy from a reputed seller.

Yeah, I hear ya. For the increase in price though you could get an Air from PV at a similar cost, so that's an option as well.
I have heard all good about Air but if we leave portability issue aside i have heard the vapor on air is little bit on a hotter side plus you loose a bit of battery life as well.. Its just what i have came to learn may be its not totally true but i still am very impressed with Solo's review and when i don't have portability issue.. i think solo is the one for me .. :D

@salvationfreak if it's an authentic Solo, Arizer will honor the warranty. After you buy it you would have it registered with Arizer for warranty. If it's not authentic you would find out from them. The Solo has gotten fairly cheap cost wise these days.

Try giving Arizer a call their time tomorrow (Tuesday) to ask them about the eBay seller.

yeah but that's only when you will get your unit in hand and i really don't want to bear with that odd feeling to finally know you have a Odd unit .. i would rather wait a little and pay a little extra .. its worth it.. ;)

Do they come with a warranty card and you register it personally after purchase or do you mean it's already registered when you buy it?

I probably will contact Arizer to find out if that seller is legit as well.

Convention says you do it after you have your unit at your door step and you register the S/NO of the unit with Arizer afterwards ..

If we could have confirmed it before hand , there would have been no discussions about legit units to begin with .. :)

For warranty registration purposes make sure you save your receipt, they will ask where you bought it. You will go to their website to register your Solo. It has a 2 year warranty on the battery and a 3 year guarantee on the unit itself. You will fill out an online registration giving them the serial number off the bottom of the unit.

Even if you buy your Solo at an unauthorized vendor Arizer will warranty your unit, as long as it's authentic and not a fake. I emailed them myself and received that reply.

EDIT
With the U.S money conversion with Planetvape it comes out to almost $30 cheaper than the $160. From other countries it's different, it depends on your country's rate of currency vs Canada because Planetvape is out of Canada.

1 Canadian Dollar = Rs 51.62 if that's the currency you're coming from.

Yeah i have my budget around 10,000 - 11,000 INR .. and that's what planet vapes is offering if the currency is Canadian dollars there.

Yeah .. i guess new ones all have vape while charge and better airflow with stainless steel bowl as opposed to ceramic bowl.

yup, got my Solo for about 135 off planetvape

You mean USD right?

Derrrpp

For the world is hollow and I have touched the sky
Whether it's 160 CAD, 129.87 USD, 8263.96 INR, 118.66 EUR, etc... (price from planetvape.ca, currency conversion courtesy of Google)

.... It's still a good price on a great vape!

Four long, slow, tasty draws on temperature setting 3, then bump it up to 5 for another five or so draws... Stock straight stem with domed screen (I must say though, I prefer the bent one)....

Feelin pretty groovy now

I hope my fellow Soloists are also having a good night! (or morning, or afternoon, or whatever time of day you happen across this post lol) :)
