Come on EDA, don't hold back ...tell us how you really feel! You know that Buckeye will only get better with age!;)

So.... you're saying the extra large two-tone afzelia burl blank (the one with the image of a spinning top aka Toasty Top), plus the olive wood stem blank and afzelia burl stem blank ... WON'T ?!?! :D

How much damn wood have I bought from you, anyway? ;)

@Bvapst - Will get you a new tube one way or another.

@Chicken Charlie - Thanks for being a JedHI member and suggesting the tube configuration. I have been using it almost exclusively now. Have found I like using it better with the nipple end of the 10mm glass tube sticking into the 13mm glass tube. It requires both screens to be reversed as well.

@SSVUN-YAH - Welcome to the JedHI. Thanks for posting all the photos.

@Vapor Loop - A dense wood will still absorb a lot of radiant heat from a glass heater cover and can make the wood uncomfortable to hold.

@Stu - Thanks for posting the photos. Glad you are enjoying your new HI.

@little maggie - I am not able to install a glass heater cover into a Toasty Top so your HI unit would need to be the one with the glass heater cover.

@JJ420 - Congratulations on 4 Heat Islands. Glad you are enjoying the glass heater cover unit.

@Beezleb - Thank you for the kind words. Development has been a lot of fun. Good to see you on here again.

@mestizo - You are correct. Although, when the time has arrived to purchase a HI and you aren’t quite ready or able to do so, you don’t have to go to the back of the line. I just let you step aside until you are ready and then you can jump right back in line.

@exit - Sorry that your experience with the HI did not go so well. The glass heater cover will never provide as large of hits as the stainless steel heater cover. Glad you were able to get it to someone to enjoy. Will be happy to make you a stainless steel for your next one.

@EveryDayAmnesiac - Glad to hear everything is still working well for you. Looking forward to getting your new HI's turned.

@lemmeadem - Will most likely make the GTV with a 14mm male end connection. It allows for better roasting of smaller amounts. Just need to make the time to get some assembled. Found a better way to use the second screen in my fluidized tube design so that it is easier to load and unload the bowl. Sorry about the VAS. You can never have too many vaporizers.

@Nugg - Have not made any more of the e-nail cage assemblies although have been using mine every day with the only issue that it can get stuck in the glass if the nail is not fully heated. I have broken one glass adapter by putting the nail in cold and then heating it up. Another concern is the weight for some smaller glass dab rigs. I am planning to make a cage to attach directly to the straight / cooler portion of the coil. The cage will only cover the coil section and be able to attach to several different styles of e-nail coils.

@slowandsteady - The HI / Ion is a really great combo.

@Scott A - Sorry to hear about the glass tip on your wood roasting tube. The variation in glass tubing makes it a challenge to ensure a replacement glass tip will fit onto the wood roasting tube. Have found that a short silicone sleeve stretched over the glass tip can be used to secure the glass to the wood if the replacement tip is slightly loose. Fine sandpaper can be used to made a replacement glass tip fit if it is too tight for the wooden tube. Here is a photo of the silicone connecting sleeve.

glasstipconnector.jpg

@killick - Good to hear you obtained a HI. Will be happy to fix you up with some roasting tubes. The Slide-a-Bowl is my current favorite. So many different ways to roast with the HI.

@Madcap79 - Glad you are pleased with the PD/HIbred. Tried to leave the PD as intact as possible. Since the bottom cap is removable, it can be cleaned out or have the heater easily replaced if necessary. The wood is so much cooler to the touch now.

@VoltageKeeper - Keeping busy here with lots of different projects. My prototype VK still performs perfectly. Thanks for a great product.

Here is a photo of some 18mm WonG connectors I recently made for Slide-a-Bowl tubes. Have found I like using the 10mm glass tube with the nipple end holding the roasting material. The screens are flipped the other way from how I had posted previously. The 10mm glass tubes slide out fairly easily for loading and the inside screens are fully adjustable. The outside screen and 13mm glass tube require no cleaning.

I want to apologize again to everyone waiting for me to get to their name on the list. One of the main reasons it takes me so long is that I am only able to work on them a few hours a day due to a persistent pain in my neck and shoulders. A lot of my day is spent stretching. I am making some progress, but it is very slow. Will do my best to get through the waiting list as quickly as possible.

My girlfriend (Teri on FC) will be helping me get through the waiting list a bit faster. Her email is teri@toasty-top.com Her primary focus will be making roasting tubes, but she will also be performing many of my other tasks. She has been learning how to make glass tubes which will include decorative accents on some tubes. The more she learns, the more she will make. Since roasting tubes are the second half of the vaporizing system, their design is every bit as important as the air heating half. We will try to make roasting tubes to suit everyones needs and desires.

Working on a website update. More roasting tube photos will be posted soon.

Why the adjust-a-bowl configuration?
Glass disc screens are better!
If it's for economy sorry to comment!

I want a HI so bad!

I want a HI so bad!

The configuration prevents spillage during one hand use by capturing the material between two screens and allows you to stir with a quick puff of air to push the material back away from the second screen. This also improves the air flow for the next hit. The roasting temp can be adjusted by screen position in the 10mm glass tube. I also find the flavor to be much better than my other tubes (at a given voltage) and don't need to use a vvps. The 10mm glass tube is all that gets dirty so it is very simple to clean.

Glass disc screens allow the passage of too much debris for my liking. Although, it is tough to beat the taste of all glass. I use a hemp fiber filter in a tube downstream of the ss screen to keep all large particles out of my lungs. The fiber doesn't seem to remove as much flavor as water filtration.

I have used the adjust-a-bowl type GonG's and I know people like them!
Personally I like a deep set fixed disc and stir after the 2nd rip.
Then again I have more of a medical perspective than most!

Plus cannabis is getting cheaper!

When can I order a HI?

Great to see you posting here again, Alan! The thread just wasn't the same without you ... you know, since you started it! :ko:

All kidding aside, the HI is the only vaporizer I'm willing to wait indefinitely for. Although, even having a HI already, the wait is a tough one. :(

Don't forget to use your own creation for that pain of yours - I do so "every day." ;)

Please send me an email to alan@toasty-top.com so we can discuss a HI order.

@EveryDayAmnesiac - Thanks again for waiting. The HI is a great medication delivery system.

@Alan I'm the one who didn't receive the first package and you resolved this the best way possible : you sent me another one.

I wanted to report before, but I didn't take any pictures yet...
I love the slide-a-bowl for the glass heater cover ! It is really neat. The screen in the WCT is much finer and I had to pack more. I like the fact my glass heater cover doesn't get any resin sticking on it with the slide a bowl.
You can even try to use the slide a bowl siting on the HI too...

What I love even more is the simple roasting tube with the shaped screen ! Being the same diameter I can sit the glass core on it, slightly angled so I'm sure "centered", and the extractions are wonderfull ! Much faster and dense vapor than what I was used to with the WCT. Also I can use less material, almost as much as with a regular SS core.

Roasting time !

You lucky S.O.B!

Those are going to look absolutely stunning, great choices.

I don't have any but the wood/glass roasting tubes are what I'll be getting.

For sheer competency in performance you may want to consider adding a 5/16th ss roasting tube (with matching wood connectors), a cork roasting tube; and Alan's newest configuation...the Slide-a-Bowl. For roasting through glass you may want to add a 14mm GonG (3'') tube to your inventory...(Hope this helps)...Best Wishes and needless to say...Happy Roasting!
