So unfortunately I ruined my single AC coil by putting some hash that I thought would be full melt but it wasn't (70 micron cold water/ice hash) it only melted like 80% and now just gunked up my single coil :( :( Been using the 2nd gen 1701 and the flavor is incredible and potent strength as well, needs a deeper oil well though it splashes like crazy! Even works good on the go with a single 18650, which I could never get good results on the first gen 1701 like that.

I'm pretty sure my dual coil KISS AC cart just fried one of its coils after about a day of use. Now it reads 1.6ohms which tells me one coil is dead since it should be reading around .8-.9ohms.
Just wondering if anyone else had a premature death of the dual coil that came with their AC?

Are you allowing the coils to get red hot? And what voltage are you using it at?

Not letting them get red hot, I don't even think it's possible to get red hot when there is material on them (....something...something thermodynamics...).

I was running it at 4.2v. (By the way, the AC with metal kit looks beautiful on the omicron).
Now I've switched to the 1701 running at 4.7v and it's amazing.

I find if I add a hot water bath to my QWISO regimen, I can get some of the more gnarly gunk out. Sometimes I warm the small container of alcohol and aromizers in the warm water bath, sometimes I run hot water from the tap on it in bursts (my hot water heater is like 5ft away and will scald the shit out of me if I'm not careful. I often just fill up the sink with insanely hot water several time in a row, to get the porcelain hot enough to keep temp for a nice soak, soaking the atomizer in the 2nd or 3rd round of hot water). I haven't tried this on the AC heaters, since I haven't been as mean to them yet as I plan to be, but the hot water helps get the gunk loose enough for ISO to actually dissolve it. This is how I cleaned some (low grade, innappropriately named) bubble "full melt" that failed to do more than "par-melt" out of some older gear of mine.

@Darb I cannot get good hits with my v1. My hammer top worked great, but my button won't turn off. Tried my buddies omicron with hvd and it worked great, just drained the battery.

Hopefully they will get us setup with new tops ASAP. Kinda frustrating that our iris won't work, but the v2 is in the works. The hammer top works, but it's hard to feather the button.

After extended use last week of the AC , I have to say that I am really liking both the single coil and the dual coil. I am using the single coil on a V2 with an AW 18650. The Dual coil is also on a V2 Persei, this one with 2xAW18350. I can really ride the button for big clouds with really nice flavor on the single coil. The Dual coil hits like a freight train NOW. It is like an afterburner! Thick vapor with the ever-so-slightest button pulse. I have yet to try the 1701. Maybe today.

Good to hear, I ordered the AC a few days ago along with the new IPv4 mod box with temp control to see if it works with Ti wires and ceramic rods/discs. Temp Limit: 200-580* Fahrenheit (with Nickel wire anyways) We will see.

Edit: @THC SCIENTIFIC I iust charged my omicron with hvd and 14500 battery. The kiss alpha is working great on it. This leads me to believe the original persei tops are the culprit. Sam should have forwarded my ticket to you.

I really hope this dosent happen to the rest of us with v2s and is limited to the original tops, wouldn't want my top to reduce the coils lifespan, looks like IMA just have to jump the gun and see

I have an original persei with the writing up the tube. I am sure I have the oldest top possible.

im having trouble...i have the v4 top for my persei and the screws on top will not screw in so my silver piece keeps popping up and i cant use it does anyone have any advice for me on what I can do to fix this

I think Planet Vape does have 8's.

As far as the v1 Persei tops hmm thats hard, i have to find one to test with the Kiss AC and see whats up. The Kiss AC requires AW IMRs and even at 7.4v it needs a lot of juice to get it going. When you first start the KISS AC on the Persei because of the low voltage indicator it flashes red, so a fresh charged batteries is a must and must be really high quality.

what are you using running the kiss carts with 4.2v on? the kiss cart even the alpha centauri single coil need no more then 3.7v.

no it doesnt.

A freshly charged batteries on a 8 will see a lower voltage. When using a 4.2v battery under load it will supply 3.2v and just built its way back up when resistance changes. On a VV device it supplies 4.2v and 4.2v all the way through, so essentially just killing the coils faster.

When I measured using a 0.9 Ohm coil and 4v battery, the voltage sag was around 0.4 V and 3.6 V reached the coil under load.
Since my istick is in VV mode it adjusts wattage as the resistance increases lowering the output power over time.


Is Ti wire more fragile than Nichrome? Because your Nichrome KISS carts can take a beating and haven't popped on me yet. These are my first set of Ti KISS so they may be more fragile.

I like to push your products to the limit and then some.

When can I buy spare dual Ti KISS carts for the AC? Are they available now?

I wish that center pin in the base of the AC was 1mm longer so that it can make contact with my Hercules inner stainless cart bottom. Looks like I'll have to frankenstein something, yay! Also thank you for making the AC work with the original nibbler with minor modifications. I love the backwards compatibility between all your products!!!

Just placed my order for a Persei and Hercules SR74. Read a couple of hundred posts before I made my decision. The products of W9 are a bit mystical and without this thread I think it would have been very difficult to grasp what I really needed. So many thanks to all the contributors.

As a European it was important for me to find products I could order in Europe. I have gotten fed up with ordering various skillets from the US and waiting many weeks for them to turn up and paying a ridiculous amount of import duties and shipping. Even though I was only purchasing from a few reputable companies I have found the quality to be very varied and sometimes a skillet was lasting less than a week. Hopefully with the SR74 this will all be over!

I have ordered in Germany with "Verdampftnochmal" they have a nice web site which is also in English, prices are a bit high but nothing compared with the import duties and shipping costs from the US. I also found a French company after I had ordered with much lower prices, isn't that always the case!

So if want to vape shatter,wax,oils, small amounts and up to .3 for longer periods the persei and Hercules would be what I need ?just those two things ?I'm so confused with all the different voltages and such. Very new to this aspect of vaping.

this is what you need to start.
Persei
Hercules SR74x
(2) AW 18350 batteries.... i would buy two sets of batteries
Charger

Be sure that you order the AW 18350 batteries. The Persei comes with batteries but they will not run the Hercules. They will only run the KISS cart that comes with the Persei.

As simple as it can be broken down. I was just in your shoes. Once you get the learning curve and learn the parts of your Hercules, then you will feel more comfortable ordering replacement parts.

I heard that one of you crafty guys had figured out a way to get the Nibbler X to work with the Alpha Centauri. I was playing around with some pieces earlier and didn't find a nice way to make things seal. I browsed through the past few pages but couldn't find who came up with the idea, does anyone have this setup working well for them? (KISS AC + Nibbler X)
