Discontinued Vapir Rise Vaporizer

Hi Ana1! Congrats on the new Rise, I know I am loving mine :-)

Okay, this is all completely my own preferences:

380 F

Speed: 1 (it automatically selects "2" for heatup, then I turn it down after vapor starts)

Quantity: you can put a single thin layer covering the bottom of the can, or fill it nearly to the top. Make sure that little metal plunger is all he way down.

Regular Cleaning: I take the "can" and the middle piece (the one with the funky metal plunger) and drop them in 91% alcohol and let it soak for at least 15 mins (over-night if really really dirty), then I take the black bristle brush, dipping in alcohol as needed, and brush off anything I see. Once it looks clean, I rinse everything in hot water, and put it on a towel to air dry. When I'm done, it looks like brand new.

Rare Cleaning - the top pieces (single or mult tips), once a month alcohol bath.

Whips - Well, I don't use the stock whips, but the silicone whips can be cleaned in alcohol, though it doesn't seem to get the smell out, so I see it as something I will replace eventually (like the bags), though I haven't had the need after 4 mons of reg use.

Suggestions: if you like whip-mode, try a Tonic 2 whip (online for about $9) - you can attach it by using a small piece of the silicone tubing. The wider diameter tube, plus the added length, really cools down the vapor, as much as a water attachment might.

Also, if you haven't tried the bags, you really need to. I never had before getting my Rise, but wow, it's an experience. :p

Do you mean "like combustion"?

Plenty of vapor comes out of the whips - slowing down the fan (or even turning it off) gives you more control. A good slow draw creates giant clouds.

I also use a regular herb grind.

Depending upon the dryness of the herb, it can take a minute or 2 to start producing vapor, but then it just goes and goes for 10-20 mins.

I use for pain and other reason. I'm trying to get more body with the giggly. Also I tried the bag and that was great. I'm still learning how to vape and what to expect. I also have a haze vaporizer, which is my baby. It's the reason I purchase a desktop. Only been vaping for about a month but longtime smoker. Thanks, now I know that it take a few minutes before vapor comes out. I'm just trying to get as much information to achieve the best vaping experience.

I bought mine off Ebay

Here is an example listing for $9.99 (w/ free shipping):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tonic-2-0-Lounge-Style-Washable-Hookah-Narghile-Hose-Blue-/261578717035

How are you liking your Haze? If I ever did get another portable, I am leaning towards the Haze. Love the idea of a second pre-loaded bowl
it works great! Does all material. Great flavor and 4 temperature setting. 10 year warranty. I dropped mine and the battery compartment wouldn't lock. Call and they replayed it no problem.

Hey just found a Web site that makes a pretty cool looking 14mm water tool and adapter for 29 and 59 for the water tool it's self. http://www.namastevapes.com/collections/vapir-accessories

Very cool! Nice water tool too.

I bought an MFLB water adapter that I never used on my MFLB, but the tube from the adapter fits snugly inside a Rise silicon hose. Hmmmm. I bet that would work too :D (it only cost $10)

I'll give it a try and let you know...

I also just noticed this morning that Vapir has finally made a new video showing bag inflation using the new 2.0 with the new bags:

Not crazy about that new bagging system. I wasn't crazy about the old system either, but it was better than the new. When I look back, I regret buying the Rise. I remember debating between the Rise and the HA. I think I made the wrong choice.

Sorry it isn't working out - if I remember, you wanted to use turkey bags? Are you also having a problem with the included bags? My daughter just loves her's for bags primarily because it's so effortless - just stick in the tube and done.

I'm personally not a fan of the HA because of the separate air pump.

I don't do bags that often and use my Rise mostly in hookah mode with 1 or 2 hoses and it just pumps out the vapor. We just love ours ;)

I tried out the new system of bag filling, and the single person adaptor for the whip is leaking vapor. I think more vapor is going into the air than is going into my bag. I'm not going to jump on the "I hate Vapir" band wagon. I'm not going to talk about how much money I wasted. I am going to stay in the moment and not get pissed. Should I simply cut my losses and sell, or try to fix yet another problem and do Vapir's R&D by fitting an O-ring on the single user adaptor? Out of all the vaporizers I have purchased this one was the most expensive yet, it had to be retrofitted with a bagging system that is inferior to the one I purchased.

Where is it leaking from and what needed to be "retrofitted"? What version do you have?

I have the Rise 2.0. The unit goes up to 420F but was fitted with the old bagging system that was vertically mounted on a bag adaptor and a on/off valve. I was satisfied with that set up, but I assume the on/off bar will break more sooner than later; therefore, Vapir discontiued that bagging system to go to their "ultimate" setup. Mine is leaking from the joint below the single user whip connection. An O ring at the base of single user whip connector may work??? Solomon: Take your adaptor out of your unit put the single user whip connector on; seal your mouth over it and exhale; you'll note it's not air tight. When you heat these up to 420F the gap may widen even more; put the fan on and you're losing vapor.

Hi Ronp - sorry for the late reply. When I take the top and middle unit (minus the "can") and seal it against my hand, it is almost completely sealed unless I suck or blow very hard - the fan isn't really that much pressure and I have not seen any leaking vapor, which makes me think something might not be right on one of those pieces on your unit.

Have you contacted Vapir? Sounds like it's still under warranty. Even if you plan on selling the unit, you should see if this could be fixed. I actually use the single adapter all the time with a hookah hose and sometimes a bag but never noticed what you're describing.

I get sad when I see vapor leaking; it's like dollar signs disapating into the air.

I did just what you suggested. I called Vapir, and their sending me a new single person adaptor piece. Besides for that minor issue, the Rise is hitting like a champ.

One question: How often do you change your balloon? I heard someone suggest every 2 months. I'm lucky if I get two weeks. The smell of the bag and the taste of the Vapor really suffers after a week.

New member here. Just bought a 2.0. I over did it last night. Got really wrecked. Made a post about that in the general discussion. Few questions.

I intend to vape at 160 Celsius and sometimes 180 Celsius. 193 was way too much for me.

1. How long will a .1 last in the bowl? Can I take a pull walk away for 10 minutes and come back? Or is the bowl going to be semi done after the first 1-2 pulls and need re packing for when I return?

2. If I do walk away should I turn the fan off so vape is no wasted? Can I leave the heat on too or should that go off and remove the bowl. Ideally I want to have a pull walk away for a while come back and have another of the same bowl.

3. How are you guys smoking at low temps? Big bowl, small bowl, how long it lasts you etc? I know I wanna vape low but just trying to find my style and how long a bowl will last.

The VR 2 does so much. If you want to do it, this machine will. Sometimes I start at 400 F and run it through water and finish with a bag at 425F. I usually use about .3g, and I get about 6-10 heavy hits. If you us .1g, I would expect maybe two hits than just repack when you return. Or just fill a bag and seal it off, it'll stay for ten minutes. Just find your groove and have fun. Tell us in the future what you tried and how it worked. I have a nice set up where I can go from whip, bag or bong quickly.
I also like being able to blow up multiple bags at one time with the hookey adaptor.

Last night I did 4-5 hits at 193 Celsius. I was twitching and my anxiety was a little high. After 30 minutes I was loving in. That was my limit. Did not enjoy. Mind you I quit blazing for 2 years.

Tonight I'm going for a more 160-170 Celsius. 2-3 hits. I'll let you guys know.

Go lower temp and have a nice slow take off. I some times go 345F (173c) and a nice slow session.

Just had a solid session. Put a .1-.2 in the chamber for two people. Smoked at 160 for a few pulls then took a 30 minute break. Came back had a few more pulls. Finished my TV show then realized vapor was thin, cranked up the heat to 170-171 was getting some but you could taste the silicone tube more oppose to the first few hits. Figured the chamber was empty pulled it off and there was still some more browning that the herb could have endured. Guess I'll put a little less next time. But 160 and finish at 170 wasn't bad. Kinda ready for bed. This weekend may just try a solid 170 sesh.

Sorry two double post. If I could edit my post above I would.

I found my sweet spot yesterday and today. I set it at 180 Celsius. Not even a .1 and lasts for an hour. Sometimes I go out and come back to finish the chamber.

I use the fan for the first 2-3 pulls then I put the fan setting to 0 for some as well
The hgh is great. This is the second day at 180. I know I could get a little bit more wrecked but I had to go out. I enjoy how it's such a chill session. It's not a quick high. It's sitting back and enjoying the vapor and taste.

I did 170 Celsius yesterday to go out and buy beer. When j got home I did 180-181 and realized that's the setting.

Have you tried the bag yet? You really have a nice machine; it can process your herbs in so many different ways. I have loads of fun putting the temp. at its max (215c/420f) and using a water pipe with the whip. I get massive clouds, and I feel the effects of the herbs instantly and hard. When I start at 325F (163c) and work up the temperature slowly, I'm gently elevated to being medicated, but when I go max temp and water, I'm thrust into new brighter medicated world.

Have not used the bag yet. Waiting for a good time with a few people for that. 185C seems to be my sweet spot. Just had a wake and bake at that from the chamber from last night.

How do you clean? ISO isn't good for plastic so how do you clean yours? The plunger piece I use q tip and ISO on the metal but what about the plastic nozzle that the whip connects to? Also does metal screen/plunger thing come off so I can the inside metal pieces easier?
