The Alfa and Elevape are two totally different types of unit's. The Alfa being a session vape the Elevape a hit and go vape.

But yes the coils are easy to change and can be purchased in a 5 pack. I have yet to burn out a coil after months of use.

That's really too broad of a question, especially for the vape thread. I'd suggest browsing the thread and/or doing a web search for 'elevape vaporizer review'. You'll find a few reviews, like this one.

Yeah, plenty of reviews and comparisons in this thread, only 70 pages...

That person in the review uses it upside down? Interesting, I always like to use the led to guage a hit even if its not entirely necessary...

Also check out @Vape Dr.'s great review on getavape.

This is an on demand convection vape like Firefly, Thermovape, a log, and upcoming Grasshopper.

Not a conduction session vape like Alfa, Pax, Ascent, Solo/Air (which are a session hybrid), or FlowerMate

Agreed, with one minor point, they come I think in packs of four. That's how mine came. Unfortunately the ESV site is acting up again so I can't confirm that's the case, but in Vape Dr's video below you can see the foam bock they come in at about 2:40, with the two in the middle still there and not enough room for 3 more?

Easier to see when the lights go out at about 3:30.

I think it is a 4 pack, and i just got an extra back after sending mine in, It's easy to mix up coils when you also vape liquids that use tank's that offer 5 pack coils, Now that i brought up tank coils i'm %99 sure it is a 4 pack for Esv coils.

When I first got mine I was having issues drawing and getting no vapor every now and then. Once i flipped it over it produces more vapor and i get less empty draws. I've also learned you have to play the grind game and try different grinds and amounts.

Well it is designed to be used with the led on top, also so there's no radiated heat rising from underneath after a hit. But the wonder is it can be used in any orientation really. Only time i ever don't get vapor (presuming full battery, fresh bowl or fresh stir, no clogs) is if I didn't hit it well enough though, very draw dependent

@kaisersosay415 first production run was 50, so your one of the first 12 after that. You're coil screws should be on the sides like Vape Drs I think. Mine are on the back (I'm number 42).

Even if to doesn't work perfect for some reason or another, you could just send it in to get it all set up like stock, just reach out to Joe

@OF This is how my coils came. on a foam block in a box.

I believe it came with 5, maybe 4 but you can easily put 5 coils on each side of the block and one on each end.
So 22 coils will fit on the foam block safely if you put one on each end. There are also different coils Joe was trying out.
Some coils were hotter than others (very little difference" but they have the same amounts of winds per coil (I am currently trying to make the "perfect" coil). Some coils had different thickness on the wire, but so minimal I can't tell which are which now.

I have got to the point to where I don't need to change coils. I've been using the same coil for 6 plus months.
I attribute this to the fine-coarse-fine chamber screen set up and the fine bottle cap chamber lid screen.
But once you get your coil set it should last you a year. I'm happy I can fine tune the coil to my exact specifications then I'm good for a long long time.

Speaking of chamber lid screens, I have been messing around with the chamber lid ..... yes, again... and this is my newest creation of what works best for me for the chamber lid screen.

It doesn't look much different, but i drilled out the entire inside of the lid, then shaped a semi coarse screen concave like a contact lens then kinda weaved a fine screen into the coarse on top.
Here are a few other views so you can see how deep the screen goes into the chamber lid.
I had to use a coarse then fine to cover the vapor path slits to prevent particles inside the unit.

I've been using this "dome screen" method for some time now and it works great. This way allows you to shake the SV and the extra space allows for you to mix it as if you had stirred the chamber. And I'm still running the same great low temps 310-315-325.

I'm still on 305-335-365, but haven't been using 3 much and mostly do a whole bowl at 305 lately. For that reason I've been meaning to lower them to like 305-325-345 or something. Also only using two chamber screens now, fine and course, didn't seem to need a second course at all, and it hurt airflow for me actually

Well I emailed Darren and he said he was fine with sending it to the UK so I missed out on a very good deal. I replied to Darren in hope that I could still get the elevape at 150 dollars but I bet my chances are very slim.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. If I take the foam block out to of the box I bet I can get 100 in there, but that doesn't change how many come in a box when you order them.....which is, I think the question?

Their site is still down, but searching my email got the confirmation of my order from February. It was $9.99 for "Smart Heating Coil Replacement 4 Pack (#IPF725A)". So while I can't say for sure what happens when you buy replacement coils now, then they came in packs of FOUR for ten bucks. Not 5. Or 22.

Thanks for the reply greatly appreciated. Are there any difference from the older one from a year ago to the ones now other that stir tool in the lid.

Just my two cents..when I ordered the coils from joe I received 5..so I'm thinking he changed it to 4??who knows..because it's seems as though this company is not the most consistent there is? Not to say I haven't had the best service because I absolutely have but it seems as though the esv is always on some site that is in question or a mass drop or whatever and the more "solid companies just sell their vape at their price and not less than half off retail and so forth..what does this mean? Maybe absolutely nothing..but the units seem to be inconsistent and maybe more kinks than other units due to the advanced technology of these things..and IMHO alot of smokers don't have time or patience for the esv..I do and I'm glad I did..I love it..but all in all I received 5 in my pack of coils...

Not really, at one point older ones had old firmware that could not be updated remotely, only sent in, but i don't know when exactly that changed, could have been after the first 50. And now mine has been updated by Joe anyway, so really just the coil screws (and potentially the actual coil, my original was a black metal and smaller, and also the screens were a little different originally).

Also the stir lid is an optional accessory regardless, fits either unit lid as lids are the same too. Debatable whether or not stir lid is worth it though, it's still much better to just open it and stir it...

@Vape Dr.'s new lid mod for shake to stir seems really interesting, though I don't think I'll ever be able to try it myself...

@subway13029 I don't think it has been a huge seller though, so discounts come from the retailers who haven't been able to move units at the regular retail price. These blowout sales are really great, but I'm still satsifed with the $260 I paid with the standard VaporNation 20% off nearly a year ago, well worth it.
