Man.... That one looks awesome. It looks like you get vapor almost immediately??

Yes almost (few seconds) instant , in the time it takes the air to heat up I can finish a bowl in either Vapman or Lily.

Here's a little wood porn (you know you like it :brow:) was taking a pic of my Air (it is the air thread:rolleyes:) then before I knew it they jumped in behind:lol:

Hey guys. Are there any experienced MFLB users here who can give me a good comparison of these two vapes? I love my box so much, but I'm looking for something a little bit more potent. I just purchased the E-Nano to help with desktop potency (despite my PA from MFLB), and am looking to up my portability game. Any ideas?

I could compare the two but IMO it would be unfair to the MFLB, don't get me wrong the MFLB was my first and it will always bring nice thoughts but it just couldn't keep up with my usage which kept it as a novelty item for me (never had the PA so maybe I missed out on something) IME the air can do everything the MFLB can do but better, bigger, stronger and easier, with a battery the MFLB could only dream about.

If u don't hit for a few minutes are you wasting already produced vapor due to it being heated? I just bought the Nano so I need something that hits almost as hard but portably, but I still need some stealthy aspect to it and be worth the price. (I'll normally post up somewhere outside on a bench on campus). I'm just worried it'll be weird going from an on demand vape to a heatup vape, and that the price won't be worth it.

Yes once heated it continues to do so (although small loads could help (domed screens) or even removing the stem between hits) if the way the MFLB works is something you like I see my Firefly as a MFLB on steroids (could be worth a look although each unit has the potential to behave slightly different and price is a little higher, for taste it is my #1)

The Vapman is a similar size to the MFLB (that's my glass MFLB stem in my Vapman in pic above), if torch powered is something you can get your head around (it's not for everyone and it seems like in the U.S there is a stigma with using torch lighters that we don't have in the UK:shrug:) it can hide in your hand in the same way and using the torch can be stealthy once you get your technique down, it is conduction (although not constant heat due to torch use and not torching while hitting) but has a tiny bowl that can get me somehow higher than a bigger bowl can in some of my other vapes so it's conduction plus magic :hmm:

Going from on demand to a heat up vape is something I can't really help with as it a personal thing, but I use both and find each type has its time and place, generally I use heat up to get where I want then on demand to keep me there, how much time I have also plays a part, and price again is something that is subjective but for what I payed I'm happy with all my purchases

Good luck with your vape hunt, hope you get something that meets your needs

Thanks for the reply man! On demand isn't a requirement, and I'm really interested in trying something that has temperature control, which the Air has. I need to stay away from butane because stealthy is important, and I'm auto turned off by that aspect. What I truly want is a hard hitter than can totally turn me off of smoking. Currently the MFLB isn't potent enough to be my 100% go to portable form of consuming. My E Nano does wonders for me but obvi not portable. A pipe and lighter could take that place of potency, which I don't want to happen. But I also don't want to spend more then $200. If I did, id go all the way and get a crafty.

How difficult is it to just take a few hits from the Air, turn it off, turn it on 15 mins later to keep vaping. And will the in between period wreak or is it pretty similar to the mflb smell (which is pretty minimal if you take care if your piece.)

I'm sorry I'm questioning, I'm just very particular with my purchases and don't want to feel guilt if I decide I want this.

@UnshavenFishWhat I truly want is a hard hitter than can totally turn me off of smoking.

When i use the Arizer Extreme Q with a whip, AND the fan turned on to 2 or 3... That hits HARD, close to like combustion...

The Air, while a wonderful vape, doesnt hit hard enough to make me not get the urge to combust. When i use the EQ in this manner i dont have the urge to combust... But i go through much more herb than using the Air. Granted i get 'higher" than combusting this way too though...

Its all a give and take, trying to find the perfect ratio of what you want and what is just acceptable. Its going to vary person to person. Even when it comes to the crafty/mighty, i have read reviews stating the person thought the Air was just as good... Others saying there is a noticeable amount of better qualities in the crafty/mighty...

I dont honestly believe there is a "perfect" unit yet... Thats one reason why a lot of people get multiple vapes. Me, i have to own one with a fan. Just have to. If my EQ broke, id have another one shorty. The combo of whip w/without fan and balloon/bag is just excellent at the price. Then i also need a portable....

Still i combust. Every day. In between vaping. If i didnt id go through less herb for certain. But i notice one of the main reason i combust so much still is because i dont always want to wait 60 seconds for the air, or 2-5 minutes for the EQ, to warm up, which the Air is pretty quick really, but then i feel like i need to vape the entire bowl, (10-20 minutes depending on stem) when i dont it never taste as good and the effects seem diminished.... But i dont always want/need a full bowl.

Sometimes i just want to pack a small bowl, finish it off in 1 or 2 hits and go about my business... I didnt think a portable vape like that existed... But the lily looks pretty damn close...

Man... I may need to go down to the basement and do some work so i can get a lily LOL I like the size and all of the vapman better but like the looks, design, and speed of the lily more.

@UnshavenFish its all your fault bro :goon:

Compared to the MFLB I would class the air as a 'hard hitter' although there are others that I would class as harder hitters they would be out of the requirements you are looking at (price, butane, stealth) the Crafty is good, really good (anyone tying to take mine away from me would leave covered in bumps, lumps and teeth marks lol), but has drawbacks (battery life, fixed battery, price) and IMO the only things it has over the Air are a better heater and less restriction which when put together can deliver monster hits consistently, that said the Air can still get you to the same place it just takes the scenic route rather than direct, still capable of big hits but with less drawbacks (good battery life also user changeable so only limited by how many you want to carry, price, good range of stems to customise your experience, reliability/failure rate)

Smell is minimal (if your outdoors and someone can smell it their either a dog or sitting on your knee) as you mention taking care of cleaning will play a part, IMO you get more smell from bud in your pocket than from vaping, and stealth wise the Air does look a lot like an e-cig and in my hands only the stem can be seen, IMO more natural looking/feeling than MFLB with battery.

And rather than thinking like taking a few hits then coming back to it I would use a screen like @OF posted on previous page to reduce bowl size and just load enough for a few hits, and have a container with preground in and load another with ease when needed.

Hehe not to make it worse but the Lily is almost like combustion but with the vape taste (and a hint of wood:love: but that is disappearing now ), combustion heat (not for everyone, but I like it) combustion quick and massive clouds like huge dense almost combustion clouds, it's quite a simple design I'm sure you could make one yourself in your basement with little effort, just to put the downside of it out there, it's possible to combust (haven't done this yet but have come close) and bigger loads (more than 1-2 hits) will need a stir, although due to convection you can hit it and put it down and come back to it whenever.

All I can say is sorry  and did you know Lily has a big sister (Daisy) again sorry

The Air is a nice portable. I've had the MFLB it's a pain having to insert the battery every time you want to take a draw. The Air has better flavor. The owner replaceable batteries are a plus, you can buy as many as you think you need. The Launch Box does have a lifetime warranty so that beats the Air in that category. MFLB isn't a session vape like the Air. If you want a unit just for a few hits and you're done the MFLB is the vaporizer for that.

The Arizer Air is a well made device that pairs with most WT with an adapter. It's very discreet and looks like a large ecig. You can also use this unit while it's plugged in but that slows down the charging ability.

After using my Air as my daily driver for months I'm having a problem. It will boot up, I choose a temp and it starts to heat. Then after 30-60 seconds of heating the heater light starts to flash erratically and it shuts down.
Sounds just like the problem @WoodVillain describes back around page 130, and then the soft reset procedure he used on page 132.
I tried the same procedure to no avail, same problem.
I guess I'll contact PIU on Tuesday to see what they say.
Time to bust out the EQ.

Sounds like battery to me. Have you tried a replacement? Is there any time difference between a 'mostly discharged' battery (alone) and the same battery fully charged and with the charger supporting it ('use while charging')?

I assume if you never start heating (low battery draw) it doesn't crash out right away?

It performs the same with all 3 of my OEM batteries, and while plugged in.
I haven't tried letting it sit without choosing a temp, not a function I need it to perform.

A couple of months ago, I didn't know what a "session" was. I came to the AA hoping it would be a "one or two hitter," because that's basically how I knew how to operate up until then. As it turns out, I really don't use the AA as a one or two hitter. It's a several hit kind of thing that you'll want to do with it, especially considering the time invested in the warm up. (And then the whole flavor thing, which helps you to thinking maybe three or four instead of two or three... And the nice vapor by then, when properly set up.)

But even though I'm probably taking a little longer in real vape time than I was in real combustion time, I'm making out significantly better, over all time wise, with the AA, all things considered. The discretion it affords users multiplies users' opportunities to use (discretely, of course). More options for chosing when and where to vape will result in some saved time.

I can kinda relate to that, I thought vapes were one or two hitters also. I was a little worried that when I got my vape the whole process of getting high would be over and done with so quick that it wouldn't quite satisfy me.

Most people used to enjoy the actual chill out time whilst smoking a joint. I was pleasantly surprised when I found a 0.1g load will last me 15 minutes sometimes.

You are also right with the possible time savings though. If i'm going somewhere and don't want to be super high, I can just take a few long hits just before leaving the house and turn it off, left ready to finish when I get back. Being able to turn off the Air half way though a bowl is honestly one of the best benefits compared to combusting joints for me.

And relating to your post even more mentioning the flavour. Being in the UK and relying on the black market there isn't always the best selection. That's why you need a friend in Amsterdam to post you a few grams back. The flavour is immense, better than any strains I have had over the past few months. S15 haze and enemy of the state are the two strains, both very very nice. :D

Today is also my 4 month combustion free anniversary, at least I can celebrate in style. ;)

Stay high everyone :D

@jojo0420 your AA is clearly damaged , the soft reset didn't work , is time to warranty! PIU will take care with your unit!
Can you tell how was the last step you did with your unit and if the battery was finishing ?

Quick question - do the stems have to be packed completely to work properly? I usually only need around 3 hits in a session, so if I only filled the stem partially would it cause a problem?

Awesome, thanks for the reply! I've been meaning to pick up an Air for a few months now and think I'm finally gonna go for it as a birthday present to myself. Definitely seems like it's the best handheld in this price range.

Was also kind of looking at a glass VG but wasn't completely sold on it especially after reading that it can take some time to learn to use it properly without combusting. That and the possibility of inhaling butane/gas.

I don't own a solo but from what others have said in general they perform the same, but with the air you get less runtime per charge but the ability to put a fresh battery in and carry on, and a smaller size, the temp range is similar just with different steps I think.

Hit the nail on the head, in the UK if you want it done right you gotta do it yourself , all about profit and not quality, once it's dry it gets sold :bang: and sometimes you don't even get that, and ask them about cure and watch the blank look on their face lol.

First off, welcome to FC

As mentioned small loads work fine, maybe a little less visible vapour but still get you where you want to
be  a domed screen would be the best option here, either bought domed or homemade.

All of my butane powered vapes (I don't have a VG) were meant to have a learning curve but IMO it's not as bad as made out, getting good results after a few bowls and getting better as time goes on, there are vapes like Vapman that use butane but not while drawing so eliminate the butane 'theory's' that people worry about, although for me if I'm using a torch lighter I have no concerns regardless of the vape it's used with just IMO.

But the air is a great vape and a nice bday present  it does all the hard work so you can just press her buttons get her going and then sit back and relax, good times.

If/when you get your air let us know how you get on, and before you get it have a read through the "best of" thread for the air, or if you have time all of this one, lots of helpful info and a few good laughs along the way.

Thanks for the welcome!

A friend of mine actually bought a Vapman a year or two ago. I only got to try it once and from what I can tell he wound up kind of giving up on it which is a shame because I've read it's actually a pretty good vape.

I guess I might actually be tempted to make my own glass VG type vape as it would be decently cheap but still not quite sure yet. I think the Air might be my best option at the moment between the two.

Gonna head over to the "best of" thread now, :p.

Hey guys! It's been about a week now since I've been debating making the decision to get this vape. You guys have answered all my questions thus far. I'm just wondering if you guys think it's worth it to have this vape if I already own a MFLB. The LB is perfect in some situations, but think that the AA has a better chance to get me more medicated? I don't want to feel that it's weak :/. I'm getting too used to my Nano, haha.

Curious if you guys can help me out on the weight of product the Air stems hold. Is it any less than a solo stem? If not what kind of weight are you able to obtain using the "domed" screen? Im only curious because I want to use as little as possible. After my 4 month t-break even the modest amount can get me right when I want to be.
