I made my own Ed's TnT drip tip!!

I have a few small WonGs and stems I don't use to I figured why not try. I took a WonG with the OD bushing on it, popped the pin out that holds it in place then I removed the bushing. I sanded the side that goes in the bushing to have a tight compression fit to the drip tip which basically goes all the way in.

After 2 fallen heroes this is the result and I'm pleased!! No more nasty metal on my lips.

Good morning everyone!!! Wow yesterday my youngest son had his award ceremony for completing Kindergarten, he had to be right before he left the house, his mom said he started off taking a 30 minute shower, she asked what took so long and he said he had to shave, lol. She was ironing his shirt, he had to have a button up with his tie on, still had his blue jeans and cowboy boots on, but he made her iron his under shirt too! He looked so handsome and was so grown up looking. He got 5 awards including outstanding student of the year award!!! WOW how full of joy and happiness I was yesterday!!! My 11 year old has his today as well as my 13 year old, I am sure today will be another great one!

@NickDlow You guys dont do crawfish up that way do ya, its southern thing aint it? May have just been blocks of wood but much of what I do wouldnt be possible without you alls inspiration and encouragement for me to do so, thank you! Yeah I see what you have done with the drip tip, thats a trip, glad you made it work, and like i told ya, if you are happy, I am happy! You are right though, I could probably do ya a better looking piece in the future. Hang in there with me!

@DieHard LOL that you would say that, I aint going to twist your arm bro, Ill only do what you ask! Still waiting on that call from ya, just send me a text with a heads up so we can schedule a solid time.

@C-weed I am going to roll them out in Bog Oak, will get to Cocobolo and Blackwood soon enough. I do have Purpleheart as well as many many other species. Am working hard to make these available this coming week! If you want to do something different just let me know!

Hope you all have a great day!

Yup, definatly a southern thing but they're freaking good. It's always a pleasure working with you and best of all just shootin the shit with ya.

It was great repurposing your work and it worked great. It was killing me to have those beautiful pieces just sitting in my box. Now they're back out for everyone to see. I've already had compliments on it.

There is no doubt you can come up with some great designs for this. Every time I use any of your pieces I'm happy so don't worry about that what so ever. But handle the business first of course you know I'll be sticking around.

Take it easy my friend and share some more bog oak projects if you have some. That's some stunning wood right there!

Good morning you all! Wow been an exciting last few days round my way, my ll year old got several awards as well, he got highest average for math and reading. My oldest got proficient for math and language. Wednesday was their last day so now its on, its summer time!!! Its crazy here, we had full intentions of going fishing thursday but in comes a cold front that dropped the temp to like 60 with slight rain and drizzle so fishing was out so we just hung out. All was good, I cooked a big dinner and they ate really well, was cleaning up after all putting dishes away when in comes my 11 year old holding his chin with tears in his eyes, his brothers werent far behind him balling and upset. He took his hand away from his chin I got a good look and he had a small gash under his bottom lip, I may have over reacted somewhat, I am not one to handle blood and such situations well when it comes to people and especially not when it comes to my kids. I knew this was more than a little cut for a bandaid so I snatched him up and off to the ER we went. I calmed down as did he on the way and all he kept asking was dad do you think they are going to give me a shot???? I was dodging the question as best I could. I hated to tell him that yes you most certainly will. We got to the ER they gave him a look over, got a CT to make sure he hadnt broken his nose, then they gave him that dreaded shot to numb the cut, he nutted up and got the numbing with a dozen or so stitches. We got back home about 9pm and off to bed we all went. He and his brother had been playing in the bedroom, they have these rocking games chairs for playing the PS, his younger brother was on it and he was on it as well somehow and when his brother got off in a hurry it rocked upward and got him from the chin up. He slept all night and woke up the next morning with a fat fat lip. These were not his first set of stitches and am pretty sure wont be his last. We have much to do this summer with plans for fishing and camping as well as what ever else they wanna do. Have to be back in Bham June 4th. and am taking the boys with me, its just a follow up to see how I am healing is all. I have been doing some googling bout Bham and the happenings for kids there. I gotta tell ya there isnt much to do in our state as far as cool museums and such. Bham has much much to do, all kinds of stuff, and on the first thursday of each month they have this family night out in the city, we are going to the Zoo after the dr that day and we are debating on whether to go to the aviation or motorsports museums which will be open for free this day and will have events geared to kids and families that evening. We have been taking virtual tours and of each, both are really neat just letting them think about which its going to be. I am really excited as they are as well, its going to be our own little minication is what we call it!

@Reflections My boys, my boys, how they warm my heart! Their mom said my youngest came to her the other night before prayers and told her they had to pray for BB King, he had seen that he had past and felt they should, he is so caring and thoughtful. He brings so many smiles to my face! I am getting better, just feel all this comes with age I suppose. I gotta couple few customs to get done ASAP and such then some other pending priorities, should be able to start a new list in a couple weeks or so if thats cool. Thanks for stopping by, I hope all is well for you also!

@NickDlow You know I also enjoy our times bro, you have kept me busy at times and on my toes at others! You done good on the re-purpose, no sense in collecting dust! Hope to be doing some show and tell very soon my man, keep your eyes peeled!

@KidFated. Watch out my man, 3 days of fishing, hope you guys wear them out, pls do post up a stringer pic! You know I dont recommend that my pieces come in contact with water but depending on which piece you toting itll float! Be safe and take care, I wish you best of luck!

Same to you all, be safe this weekend and I wish you many good times and smiles to remember!

Sorry for the back to back...

I did another repurposing project with another @Ed's TnT small WonG.

When using my Errlectric Consentration Station with the herb nail, I tend to leave the nail on the chamber for a bit. This causes the handle on the chamber to get uncomfortablely hot when I pick it up to clear or empty the ABV. So I stuck silicone on it. But that looked ugly n still became pretty warm.

After having success making a drip tip for my subtank I figured why not toss one on here. All I had to do was cut it to size and bore the hole out a little to get a snug compression fit.

I'm happy, I think it adds a bit of style and has a functional purpose too. Anyway here's a couple pics.

Good afternoon you all!! I hope all is well out there, nice and freaking wet down this way, have rain in the forecast for the next 10 days so here we go again with that, aint much fishing that can be done with this much fresh water everywhere. My son got his stitches out yesterday and his lip is not nearly as swollen as it was. His new easel for painting has made it in today, ohhhhh he is chomping at the bit to get at it! Whats a trip is he has been watching Bob Ross videos on youtube I believe, oh hes got to be watching something on his cell phone, we have a 40 gig plan me him and his brother for the month, in less than 2 weeks he has used up 14.5 gigs, uhhhhh say what???? I almost flipped out, immediately cut off his data and said no more this month buddy, we still have 9 days on our contract. So his mom shows me a drawing he did on the paint program of her laptop, I gotta say looks just like a Bob Ross painting, has mountain peaks with snow on one side, shading too, what an eye this boy has! Got our trip lined up for Bham next week and we are all excited about that.

Anyhow, a few updates here for yall, got a little behind on the Air stems, had to push em back another week.

Was working on some custom stuff, still have a few to do and was working on this custom piece, am having my website redone as I mentioned back and my guy says itd be cool to add some video of turning and such so I got a gopro from a friend, the whole video is about 12 minutes, I cut it back some so you all would see just how beautiful it was going and at the last step I am taking a little off from the shaft and then it just goes to crap, this was a burl piece, burl being an abnormality can be vulnerable at any point and so it was. What a freaking headache, that was the first piece of the afternoon and the last, turned off the video, then the lights and called it a day!

@Snappo Thanks for the post my man, I hope all is well today! Got that in the mail for ya this morning!

@Reflections You know I was ear to ear! Thanks for the kind words and for hanging in there with me!

@NickDlow You are right boys will be boys! Wow all this re-purposing you are doing is awesome bro! You must have gears turning in your head non stop! I love it, well done my man, well done!

wow Ed ! Was quite interesting to see how you turned stems.. I had to watch it in increments though cause my pc couldnt handle the vid.. 1 minute into vid my pc went blank..eeek and closed the windows... so I finished watching it on youtube,,and my pc almost exploded like the mouthpiece you were werking on.... what a bitch like you said..shame it was beautiful!

Fantastic you are encouraging son on his painting.. My son has been painting for a few years now and heres a pic of an oil painting I took of his snowy mountain.. The lighting is off and doesnt do painting justice but here it is

@vapebuddy13 Ohh you dont know how frustrating bro, I have trashed and thrown away countless amounts of money, it just be's that way sometimes! Yeah you should have watched the last few seconds, thats the part where I wanna pull my hair out and stomp up and down!

@Reflections Wow thats a beautiful painting, oh my how nice! Hate the vid did your pc like that, just wanted you all to know what I mean when I say that no matter what I do and how slow I take it with the sharpest knives that a piece can go to crap just like that!

@momofthegoons Ohhhh I have had to just learn to throw them away at that very moment and not spend anytime thinking about what could have been or how much time I had put in. You can just imagine when I was making $100 dugouts, would have almost all the work done and then route the edges and a piece just tears out the side, oh oh oh it sucks! Glad you like the video though!

@beach bum I am really trying to work on my cussing, I am almost not doing it but there are those times when they just fly out and that was one of them! My middle son has a cat, he is a year old, smokey, he has been rambling and getting into everything at their moms house, she says every morning its something else, she is at the point of getting rid of him. Me and the boys have been watching my cat from hell and have come to the conclusion that smokey doesnt really have a place of his own at her place and a spot where he can chill. I have been look on the net and been looking at cat towers, saw a site that wants $450 for one, uhhhh! I dont think so, have been researching it and we are going to make one for about $50. Am going to get up early early and do some turning then me and my boy are going to make this cat tower, oh its going to be so fun, I love doing projects other than turning!

Did I show yall a cube in a cube my and my oldest did?

Good morning, good morning!!! I hope all is well out there, been busy with the boys and in the shop as well! Got quite a bit of work done for the most part but never as much as I would have liked, it is what it is right. Got quite a few Air stems done and will be shipping them out to PIU Monday, these are all Granadillo. I plan on introducing Air stems at my site probably Monday or Tuesday, these will be Bog Oak, very very nice with rich dark tones, am super excited to have Bog Oak available again and thought be a great way to release Air stems at my site in this species! My oldest finished turning his first commissioned piece, its a Cherry flower vase, has a small glass tube that goes down in the center from the top that will hold a little water and not soak into the wood. He was so excited to finish it and make his first sale! I told him we need to take the funds from the sale and buy more wood to make other pieces, told him when ya first start your own business you have to take some cash and invest in materials and such for a little while to get the ball rolling, after a few sales you can start to put back a little here and there and even spend a little on yourself. So this is what he made

2015-05-29%2016.51.55_zpsjnplgukg.jpg

Showed it to another good friend of mine and she was like, is there a list? I was like I suppose it is now! I told him about it and you know his face lit up and his smile grew, he was like really dad, another customer, WOW! What a feeling we both had, he was excited, I was excited for him and both our hearts were filled with joy, mine was probably more so! My 11 year old and I worked on the kitty condo quite a bit, got the posts made and attached to the base, got the tubes cut and covered in carpet. Wow was using contact cement in the shop and wasnt thinking about all the vapors from it, the boys had gone outside to play and I was trying to get everything glued and cut and covered when after a while started getting a little confused, guess I should have thought about ventilation and opening the door, duh! Got a headache and had to take a few hour nap to recover, learned a good lesson, apply and work with contact cement outside! Anyway, I really really dig what we have done, it has 4 posts that I was going to wrap in thick hemp rope, seems I need about 500-600 feet of the stuff, and you all know how I am about it being just right so I may have a little more than $50 in it, maybe closer to $100 but its going to look nice! Oh so I must again say how much I freaking hate Lowes and now Tractor Supply, I got to get more rope and both places only have a roll or two of 50' each, I got a guy from each store and asked do you guys have any more in the back and they are like nah I am sorry we only have whats on the shelf which must have only been a few hundred feet, and they say we wont have any more til they send more, uhhhhhh say what, uhhh what kind of store are you all running, oh it freaking frustrates me! Well I only have half the rope I need and have to finish it a little differently than I had planned, its still going to be nice in the end. Am hoping to have it finished by mid week and cant wait to show you all the finished piece! Smokey is going to trip out!

@SSVUN~YAH & @Vicki LOL yall are funny!!! Like I said above got a little more than $50 in it now, as is most of my big projects, I usually change and add to them before completion cause the look changes during creation. Tell yall what though, got quite a bit of time in this thing, I can see why they cost so much and you sure as heck aint getting free shipping with it, lol! Think this will be my last one of these, alot easier turning stems for sure!

So this is what he made
You just couldn't wait for me to show it off, huh Ed?

That's some 'daddy pride' busting out of you for sure! :D

I'm looking forward to getting my vase and am proud to be your son's first customer. Tell him keeping his money in the business is called 'retained earnings' and it's the only way to make your business grow. You still have the money, but it's invested in future growth of the company. He keeps this up and he'll have that money for his car in no time! I'm sure there will be a few customers from the forum alone. :D

When I get it, I'll take another pic with some flowers in it and we'll give him another boost of
free advertising. ;)
