Herb Grinders

I bought a $50 fancy 4 piece grinder... I think it was spacecase... I find the acrylic 2 piece orange thing that came with my Mighty does a better job (for vaporization anyway). The spacecase just didn't grind it fine enough for my tastes.

Anyone know of a decent metal two piece similar to the ones included with the S&B vapes?

I wonder why this product is listed as a medium but when I go to the SCS website, they only have small 3 piece listed.

Like t-dub said, it's a mistake as SCS 3 piece is only made in small.
It is about 2.1 inches diameter and looking at mine, I would call it a medium but
in SCS speak it is a small. for me it is just the right size.
SCS does make a smaller that they call a mini.

Looks like Sunshine Widgets LLC may have gotten the description wrong. I would ask them because as far as I know SCS has only made the small size 3 piece.

I have an orange 3 piece medium scs grinder. It's probably about 6 months old. SCS definitely made other sizes at one point.

I did not get it from their website as they were sold out at the time. I got it from a head shop in cali, along with a green medium 4 piece that I gifted to my roommate.

For a short period, it was called a medium but was really the small 2.1 inches.
I had emailed SCS at one time and was told 3 piece is only in small but they hoped to expand and do it in other sizes.

Many shops and places online confuse the sizes. Some places call the sizes of the SCS "Small", "Medium", and "Large", other places name it "Mini", "Small", and "Large".

In reality, the 2 and 4 piece SCS grinders only come in 3 official sizes "mini", "small", and "large". The Most popular size is the "Small" which in fact is larger than my other "small" grinders.

Therefor many people and stores often confuse the "Small" SCS grinder with a "Medium" size, even though there is no official medium size. This is extremely confusing, and a poor marketing decision by the company.

The 3-piece SCS grinder is available in only one size currently - "Small". Though some stores list it as 'medium'.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I have a small 4 piece cosmic grinder that works just as well as my "small"scs grinder. I always assumed the scs was medium because it is significantly larger than the small cosmic.

Sorry, I'm sure this has been asked all over this thread, but even with the search function it's a bit hard to find answers.

What is the recommended 'budget' grinder? I saw the chromium crusher, but which version of it (the aluminum alloy, or zinc alloy ones on amazon?). It seems like some people claim fakes or not the same, so is there something good and cheap around? Or do people have a better recommendation for < $15?

I'm no expert on grinders, but check this out.. http://www.amazon.com/Sharpstone-Gr..._sim_79_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=1REGBQKT5TQX68FS7DN6

I'm pretty sure it isn't fake, not 100% sure tho (on the sharpstone website, they go for double the price..), I bought a sharpstone for that price from Amazon a month ago though and it's been treating me super well. It didn't have a cool clear top like this one, and didn't come with a pollen press tho :(

For 25 shipped you get a 4 pc grinder AND a pollen press. Check the reviews.

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too
So I lost my space case this weekend.

I am thinking about replacing it with an SLX non stick nano-ceramic grinder, seeing as no one seems to have one here yet.

Should I get a 2 piece or the 4 piece?

I've only ever had a 2 piece, the height/size of a 4 piece always put me off, I grind about an ounce every month and don't know how much keif I would get or what I would do with the it.

just looked around the site... I say go with 4, looks like you can take the screen out or the mid parts and turn it into a 2 piece if you decide you dont want the keif seperated... I may go with one of these myself

I paid $50 for a Space Case 5 years ago. It works better than all the cheap ones. The 3 piece Santa Cruz will be my next one. If your really low on cash buy a pair of sizzors from Harbor Freight for .99 cents.

I have a shredder and a space case but my favorite is the Compton. Very smooth turning and the grind is fluffy and consistent. Dam it's beautiful

I use a medium 4 piece regular space case and a small 4 piece Santa Cruz shredder. I like the grind of the scs a lot better. Everything else I like better on the space case, better screen, better overall build quality. I don't see myself ever needing another grinder between these two but I really want to try the compton grinders.

Which SCS 4 piece do you have - the older version with the super tight screen, or the newer versions which let more keif build up?

Ever since I took a toothbrush to my SCS and cleaned the teeth, I've been REALLY happy with it's performance again.

I have a new limited edition copper one so I assume it has the newer screen. Still seems to clog easy but that could be because of the smaller surface area. For me the screen on the space case is perfect. I clean my grinders almost every month. The anodizing on the scs is fantastic though I must say. I just don't like how threading is a little loose compared to the space case. The trade off is the space case will squeak a little when screwing or unscrewing but I prefer the tighter tolerance. Also I like how light he space case feels yet still seems as strong to the heavier scs. Put the scs teeth in the space case and that would be the perfect grinder for me!
