Got measurements of the UFO?

I don't have one, but if its similar to my mobius clear or ion I can def check for you :)

There's not too much clearance so I'm doubting it'll have enough room, but it can't hurt to check :)

Hi from the centre of the female hole i need 40mm minimum,I have had a look for dimensions of reclaimers but to no luck.If you could take a measurement that would be cool.Is it the pv reclaimer that you use?

Great to see Sublimators making it out to FC members. We will try to answer some questions:

There will be two Moon tools, one small version made from surgical stainless which will be included in all future Sublimator kits as soon as they are available and will also be sent for free to all existing Sublimator owners who didn't receive one in their kits. A larger more advanced Moon tool made from titanium will also be available as a separate product.

Hope to see more FC members Sub'in soon.

Ok, cool.

My clear möbius has a 75mm can, so ~37.5mm clearance from the centre of the joint.

Yep, I have the official sub buddy from PV

I'll measure it for ya tonight. :)

Anyone got the planetvape glass tube? Mine just came in today and its a great upgrade from the plastic. The only con for me is that it doesn't fit completely straight into the black anodized base, so I am going to order the new glass when it hits market with the new controller and atomizers.

I think there's an adapter available, to make the glass tube fit better?

Just got the Ti Apollo recently. Thing takes a darn long time to heat up and it is constantly turning itself off during peak vaping times. I'm sure there's a post somewhere here that talks about a workaround for the timer...can anyone help?

Here is a trick to getting it hot faster... Heat up the bottom of the attomizer with a torch... Just the bottom don't get the flame on the top where the heater / electronics are, obviously you just want to heat it a little so the top doesn't have to work so hard to heat the entire thing...

Well I dunno if anyone with a new XLR version has removed there timers yet... Hopefully you can.. OG subbers just waited for them to quit working then cut our boxxes off and made our digital long ago... But the new Sub is lower voltage and it's not that ez

You might want to check the XLR thread - http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/sublimator-xlr-2-0.12741/page-10

Sooo I've been sitting here the past couple months coming here going through this thread with a fine tooth comb and although I wish the sublimator was at a state where you wouldn't have to make any modifications, especially given the price, I'm gonna pull the trigger. I've been completely satisfied by my E-Nano, but as I've done my whole life, I must see if there is better out there... Maybe this will finally be the unit that calms the storm of this terrible cycle, we that are infected know it as V.A.S, it's trying to consume me, help...

On a more serious note does anybody have any official word on these digital boxes that are supposed to be on the way. I'd hate to have it drop shortly after I buy this version. Not to mention I don't know how much more my bank account can take, lol.

Hey guys,
I've had the sublimator now since the very beginning. I have the OG version without timer (you know, the one with the brown grandmotherelectricalappliancelooking cord and the ridiculously cheap looking dimmer switch). I have never regretting being a first day adopter. The sublimator is unlike anything else and the only reason I occasionaly still smoke out of rolling paper is because I don't always want to be 'instantly hit with a hammer' high. I have a few questions though. I'm in doubt about finally getting the upgrade but I need to know a couple of things:
1) Is there a titanium atomiser available yet ? It seems retarded to pay for a titanium apollo if half of the metal you're going to be heating is still just stainless steel. Btw, has anyone noticed adverse health effect because of the steel, or could anyone point me to a decently informational link about these (random google search doesn't come up with much)
2) has anyone figured out how to circumvent the fact that the XLRs turns off after a certain amount of time ? My OG runs indefininately and that's exactly the way I want it. Sometimes its on for several days and it still works great (granted there is a little buzzing from the (crappiest looking ever) dimmer switch) but it preforms as should.

I agree the product is severly overpriced but I can't say I wouldn't do the same if I were the only one offering something that works as good as the sub does.

I would also like to thank the other early adopters whose reviews got me through the anxious waiting period (took quite a bit longer to get to europe).

I agree, their offerings are very confusing these days.
  1. let us know when you find out...
  2. not authorized, will void your warranty (their answer not mine)

That goddamn timer - I fucking hate it...

1 hr is just too damn short.

I've found I've gotta give the sub a good 1/2 hour to properly heat up...

The number of times I've let it heat up, and had one hit, then come back for another hit to find the sub turned off is really annoying...
Even though the sub is still hot, it's not at equilibrium, and I essentially have to give it another 1/2 hour...

It makes me somewhat paranoid about it to the point where it's always in the back of my mind -
has it been on for an hour yet?
Should I power cycle it?
When did I last power cycle it?

A mate of mine power cycles his every 10 mins...
Not intentionally, he's just gotten into the habit of resetting it really often so that damn timer won't ruin a sesh...

A 2 or 4 hour timer would be SOOOO much better...

It's still a pretty minor gripe for such an awesome vape though :)

just get a 50 min timer, set it next to your Sub... Every 50 min just turn it off and back on again...

it wont be fun but at least it will allways be on..

stupid timer... Do enail have timers? Dabbing from the slab has gone to his head... lol

My OG Sub has had the timer removed and a digital watt meter added long ago,,,, thanks again @grokit

Eh, I have to port around enough crap with the sub, adding a timer to that isn't something I want to do...
(Bong, adapter, sub heater, atomizer, control box, power transformer, moon tool, ABV container, bud container - there's not much room left in my bag after all that )

My phone has a timer on it, but meh, I don't want to have to be setting a timer 5+ Times while I'm using my sub.

I generally just try to power toggle every hour on the hour, and also 10-15 mins past the hour.

Even if the control box just gave a loud audible beep 5 mins before, and at the actual time of shutoff...

I mean, MJ is notorious for altering the users perception of time - and you need to be very carefully monitoring your time while using the sub...

Somehow I think everyone who has had a friend with a sub has had a friend that obsessively turns it on and off again coz they can never remember when they last did it. I was one of these guys lol

Hey when are sub guys gonna make any substantial change to this old warhorse? Poor feller is still plodding along suffering from never having a very few dealbreakingly nagging shortcomings being addressed.

The 1 hour timer is just unforgivable and was the major deal breaker for me. As my man Frederick says, the sub takes 30 mins to give proper hits from a load and can take longer sometimes depending on a variety of factors. This we can accept because the sub gives incredible hits - but how can you justify a timer which gives you as much time to vape as it takes to turn the vape on?????

I can accept that this timer is there for heater longevity reasons (as Enrico admits in a recent video with bubbleman), but still, it should allow the user to get more usage without having to turn the device on again than the amount of time it took to turn on in the first place!

I'm thinking of all those moments I was enjoying my sub after it first finally got to temp (often we leave it longer than 30 mins to avoid those disappointing not-quite-whitewall hits when it hasn't quite heated up completely), then get a phone call or an email and by the time I've finished responding the sub I've been sitting in front of the whole time has shut off and cooled down enough that I need to turn it on and wait for even more heat up time.

As an all day every day medical user, I frequently had days where more time was spent waiting for the sub to warm up than was spent enjoying hits from the sub. This was a major reason I parted ways with my sub.

I really miss the fucker sometimes too, but I know I can't cave and just buy another one because the current version just doesn't meet my needs in the current iteration.

They need to remove or extend the timer (even 1.5 hours would be much more reasonable, but ideally a user set timer would be great, even if timer is mandatory let us plan how long our session will be at the start, rather than have to mindlessly turn their sub on and off all the time), potentially consider finding a more durable heater (as Enrico says that the timer came because heaters were needing to be replaced too often because users left them running for ages) and then consider how to make the device safer and upgrade the general things we see updated in vapes over time (like quicker warm-up time etc).

It would be amazing to see a directly heated atomizer too, as really the atomizer being hot enough seemed to be the crux of those unbeatable huge sub hits!

I long for the day when an updated Sublimator makes most of the vaping stuff I have now redundant.

Maybe something like this will help. It's a programmable 24 hour security timer with up to 14 on/off cycles. Set it to turn it off/on every 55 mins for however long you want it on or something like that...:hmm:

Hey guys, me again,
I though this back and forth email between me and sublimator might be helpful to some of you. Also, I would still like it if anyone could tell me if they've heard anything about someone experiencing adverse health effects do to inhaling heated steel vapors, or could just point me to a link with some decent info about it. Thanks

Me to Sub:

Dear Sublimator,
I have been a very first day adoptor of the sublimator (I was probably the first person in europe to own one and without a doubt the first Belgian). I have the one without dimmer switch. I'm sure you remember, the one with the 50s looking brown cord and dimmer switch. I still LOVE your product. I do however have a question. I see you are still offering the switcheroo were I send in my old version and you replace it with a XLR. What I don't get though is that purchacing a monkey controller and XLR apollo seperatly would cost 295$, and doing the switcheroo would cost 290$ + shipping costs. Does that mean it would actually be more expensive for me to give away my old apollo and get a new one, than just buy a new one ? I don't see how in the world this could ever make sense. I guess my question is, If I just buy a monkey controller and an XLR apollo seperatly, can I just use it with the atomiser I already have ? Also, do you guys have a titanium atomiser yet ? I hope to hear from you guys soon and would like to thank you once again for the AWESOME flavor experiences I have had thanks to your product.
Thank you for your time and consideration

P.S. I tried sending this email through the "contact" page on your website but it kept giving error messages.

Response:

Hi there,Thank you very much for your Support of the Sublimator. With the upgrade, we've found most people choose a different model than the Apollo. But if you wish to purchase just the Apollo model as you have priced out above, it will work with the same atomizer. The atomizer that is offered with our new torch unit is in Titanium. I will have to check with Enrico tomorrow to see if we can sell it separately. I will get back to you about this asap. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks,Kirsty

The way i use the sub is let it heat up for as long as it takes to,then take a few hits. Then i switch it off for ten seconds or so,then switch it back on.Seems to work well for me.Although as the night goes on i may get in a muddle and forget to do this which can be slightly annoying.
I would also be interested in a Titanium atomiser so if Sublimator see this please sell them as a spare on their own..

The OG Sublimator is the superior unit.. You can get rid of og box if it's not working, lengthen the cord and put a dimmer switch and digital watt meter on it for about 40$ and it will be way better that the monkey controller with the tiny short cord..

It will be a digital Sublimator with no timer....

If you want the monkey controller just buy it... But don't get rid of you OG Sub...

I think Titanium takes longer to heat up, I heard other complaining about it in the other thread... Nothing wrong with stainless steel..

What use would the monkey controller be to an OG sub?

I made my extension cord for my XLR sub for about $30, with enough cable to make another one, I'd just need another $10-15 for the XLR adapters :)

:o
Is that kinda like an upgraded version of the campfire one from ages back?

Are there any vids of it in action or reviews?

I'm really interested in it...

I really love the sub, but it feels like too much stuff to lug around to my mates place on a daily basis...
If that torch powered one works well I might have to grab one :brow:

The subs site is pretty crap though, I couldn't tell exactly what was included with the package, or whether the atomizer was Ti or SS.

Has anyone ever managed to use the UFO (sputnik), or the newer titanium version with coals or a campfire? I would only be interested in getting it for true off-grid use, in which case gas (butane, propane) is more rare than electricity (provided you have solar panels)

try this bro I'm really curious if this will work. Just plug the sub into this thing first, then set the timer to turn it on every hour for how long you want it on. Should work

I'll have to double check, but I think if you cut then restore power to the controller, when it turns back on it doesn't remember the temp, it just sits at 0.

The only way it remembers temp is to manually press the power button.

I'm not in front of my sub to test though...
