Also i rarely use my remote except for blowing bags to turn the fan on , i feel the remote over the Eq would brake 1st and i need that remote to turn the fan on. i dont think you could without it.
Not to worry. The remote holds up well. I have had me EQ for five years and use the remote all the time. I lost the first one , so I ordered another. They are fairly reasonable at about $15.00. I found that first controller and replaced the battery.
Now I have two. Great because I still tend to misplace that little remote a lot.

:hmm: So would you be able to program the EQ with some sort of universal remote?

That is not that far "out there". I find that the EQ remote will raise or lower the volume on the TV.

Almost there...
Now that we have @Oregonglassblower on the forum, we will have access to any type of adapter we want!!
I have ordered adapters for most of my WT's from Mike and they are all perfect!

I was thinking of a DDave adapter but modifying the top part to be the same diameter of the outlet in the main unit.
just a thought thought!

Still loving my EQ!
Favorite thing is using the cyclone bowl with herb sandwiched between two screen, the basket in the elbow and blow some bags.
Check the basket and you will find some amazing oil deposits!!

That basket goes in my LSV and gets me ripped for free!!

I been mainly using my portable's the most lately and feel i have somewhat neglected my Eq a bit. So yesterday i decided to pack her up and i tried something new. I packed my Ddave adapter and my elbow at the same time. It was a great experience and i was very well medicated for a few hours. I thought the vapor was never going to stop , so i shut it down after about 15 minutes and put my avb in a jar.

I broke my last elbow. So I figured out you can jam a hose in a stock cyclone adapter...

New elbows arrived today. Back to normal. Ahhh......

Follow up question. Do you guys clean your hose or just cut a new piece when it gets dirty?

Not just dirty, but SMELLY! Broke my hose out for the first time in a while, left it out overnight, and WHOA BABY! Is it ever smelly in here this morning!

My usual method of cleaning is corking an end, adding a few drops of Dawn, filling with hot water and corking the other end overnight, but seems to swing the smell to the soapy-side for the next time 'round.

What y'all do to knock down that funky hose smell before storing?

I only use any detergent for extreme cases and only initially. Things like Dish soap tends to leave a residue that is supposed to make your dishes "look" clean.
91% iso alcohol and 1 tsp sea salt cleans most parts.:tup:Usually I put all my parts from all my kit in a ziploc bag with ISO and shake the bag a little. Let it work it's magic. shake a few more times. Let it hang. rinse repeat.

Anything that is plastic is suspect however. (Some manufacturers are aware of this and may warn you what not to clean in ISO, If that is any indicator as to how often it is used.) I wouldn't soak PVC for too long because some of the material might melt or leach in the iso solution a little. That's why some use cotton swabs for cleaning the more sensitive parts. And some will only use Q-tips or swabs meant to clean electronics. Might as well cover all the cleaning bases here. Since you are going through the trouble. And we all have parts that need to be de-funked.

Mine doesn't really smell not have any lingering smell that people can notice. What you can do is buy a smell proof bag/case to store it , a Google , eBay or Amazon search should help you. I personally don't own one but know there is a few good brands. riot is a company I have heard of.

I'm sure this has been covered, but I didn't get anything relevant seeming off a brief search. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a small bubbler/bong to go with a EQ with a ddave mod and ssv wand setup?

Do you have a photo of your ssv wand set up? Sounds cool!

I use the standard SSV wand with ground glass connection in the EQ with Ddave (F/F) adapter. The wand comes with a screen installed. I added a new EQ elbow screen on the bottom. The herb goes between. (There is a diagram back a few pages.) The F/F adapter sits a little higher than stock due to my replacement heater cover(see link below). The other end of the whip can connect to a mouthpiece or to a the SSV Fatty wand without screen. This goes in the water pipe, in this case a D020. Very easy to use. The glass is heavy an less prone to break. Airfow is much improved, no clogging and easier cleaning. The wands are easier to grab than the elbows, which makes changing a bowl or clearing the bubbler a snap.

Thank you!!! Yes i do ship worldwide. Mike-oregonglassblower.

If I am an FC'er and want a somewhat more custom Ddave (18mm F 18mm F) from you, Where should I send a msg?

I'm going to presume infrared for now. But still curious. Can the TV remote raise or lower the temp on the EQ?

I can vouch for http://agracan.ca/ (agracancorp on ebay), we got 3 Extreme Q and 1 Air from them, flawless experience and lowest price (in Canada). Too bad you missed last sale (few days ago) :-(

Alright, bought my EQ from Agracan. (Tx for the quick suggestion Episode666.) The shipping was 5 days from their location in Canada, south of Toronto ... then to me in NYS. What would normally be a 4 hr car ride. But, It went to parts of the continent that I've never been to before it finally arrived to me. :haw:So be it. No fault to Agracan at all. In fact he responded to my msgs earlier and answered some questions before I made the purchase.I also figure buying it under $150.00 from a Canadian Seller is a plus since they are made in Canada. Parts are sourced, but they are all assembled in Canada, right??

Glad a lot of the choices have been carved out by other FC'ers. So I can keep somewhat of a budget. Got fussy right away and picked out a 18mm "Ddave" glass that looked about the right dimension and distance from the element that I felt would be worthwhile. Will get a custom DDave once I feel that I can narrow down what suits me. @Oregonslassblower has some decent choices already designed that might hold a more even heat better than say, the stock EQ adapters and Cyclone glass that come out of the box.
Bought 4 extra dome screens because I already lost one.

Otherwise, there is enough silicone hose and glass combustion pieces in my junk drawer that can be cleaned and re-purposed. Take that Combustion!!:argh:

I'm thinking to get a Q because they don't require a GonG?
The 1,000 ' s of $ on GonG's is getting out of control!

@ataxian, there are several glass parts with the EQ. You'd break all of 'em in less than a week. Don't do it, man.

:peace:
While I agree that that EQ heater cover is rather fragile, I did find a way to get around that by replacing the stock one when it broke with something more substantial. The M/M adapter that came with the D020 did the trick. It actually fits in the space better than the original.(See Emergency EQ Heater Cover Repair link below.) Now instead of breaking, if enough force is applied; the rig just falls over without breaking. The F/F adapter and SSV wands are thick glass and larger than a little gong, so easier to hold onto and harder to break. Ataxian might be OK with this modification. As far as the rest of the EQ: I've had it for over five years, so I would say they are very dependable.

What are these adapters you write about?
M/M? Male/Male 18mm?
FF?

Here's the link to the explanation:

F/F adapter otherwise known as Ddave adapter on this thread.
Yea and there are several 18mm Female to 18mm Female Adapters out there to choose. So you can be fussy. I bought one off of Ebay to get me started. It looked exactly like what I wanted in the photo. Even had a ring around the center. But I later found out the center is too wide for a large screen. Not a huge loss. The screen was meant for a crumb catcher anyway. I use two bowl screens instead. The second plugged into the first.

Also the width of the glass piece covers the center of the EQ more. It works, but the gap between the core and the inside wall is quite narrower. If that explains it.

The glass seems to keep it's heat a little different compared to the one out of the box. I do have newer respect for the standard cyclones. They do keep their heat better once warmed up and with the fan. The walls do keep an even heat in the chamber.I will have to save up and get some custom Ddave which resembles a standard EQ minus the height and perhaps a hole where I can plug a bowl screen in the center instead of working a flat screen through the center. (:DAnd quality glass) Before all that though, I am considering some glass screen options for my kit.
