Discontinued Elevape SV

Does anyone who has the ESV and Firefly want to comment on which you like more? I already have the Firefly, I've been considering getting this but, the screen and battery issues brought up here make me wary.

I have both. For a while, I was using the ESV regularly. Then I bought a spare battery for my Firefly, and it was game over. My ESV is still on the coffee table, charged and ready to go, but the only use it sees is due to fond memories of its former glory.

But, it could return to its former position if my Firefly were to die. After all, the ESV is actually a darn good unit. The Firefly just tastes better, and further edges out the ESV with its swappable batteries. And, I'm talking mostly home use, as I typically use an oil cartridge when out and about.

Yeah I paid 285 directly from Joe with the fc discount and don't regret it for a minute (well it has been slightly frustrating at beginning. But considering the technology this thing has I could not be more pleased with this thing, my main quibble is when changing the bottom screens with the removal tool both times I attempted I have stripped the locking ring out and wouldn't screw back on..first time joe sent me whole new chamber..for cost..and the second time it happened a few months ago I said screw it literally and put the screens in from the top. It has performed like it did the other way..fantastic..the best flavor IMHO! And might I add top notch service from joe, he goes above and beyond and super fast shipping for everything I ordered from him and I'm on opposite coast.

Considering that they are lifting photos from other sites I'd be very weary.
The URL, for the ESV images anyway, directs to highwire.com - an online storefront provider.
I've emailed Joe at Elevape, asking if this is an authorized ESV seller.
In the meanwhile, I'm waiting for my ESV that I ordered the other day from Joe.
I'm looking forward to sharing my ESV experience with other members!
Need to kick some life back into this thread! That's what happens with great products - we enjoy them so much, we forget to post! ;-)

A Google Image search shows several of the photos of different products on that site being on various other retail sites.

I have both and I love them both. For flavor hands down would be my firefly. But for on the go and stealth it would be the esv. I'm having some issues with my battery and Joe said they had some bad chargers. He suggested charging off the computer instead for awhile and see how it goes. If it works better he would send me a new charger. If not he'd issue an rma number. Great customer service so I wouldn't worry if something does go wrong. I haven't had any problems with my screen in the chamber, I did remove my mouth piece screen as that kept clogging on me.

A week ago today I got a crafty. Which I have been using exclusively since. It is so different then the esv, total opposites IMO. I'm having a blast with the new vape but also it's shown me how awesome the esv is for ease, frugalness and flavor. Obviously I have my esv dialed in but the instant heat is a thing of beauty in that it doesn't cook the weed In between hits and cool down. The crafty is an extracting machine thou, and I'm stoked to have them both. Especially for buddy sessions which was always a bit cumbersome with the esv.

I have a used Elevape on the way, and noticed additional screens and accessories are not available on their website. is the screen size fairly standard? Is there any other additional accessories i may really wish to order? Thanks

No, you want the factory ones. The site seems to be acting up some, but this is probably what you want:
http://elevapesmart.com/product/smart-screen-rebuild-kit/

Notice 3 screens, heavier than most, welded at the edges (so they don't fall apart). One with a hole and the smallest smaller than standard sizes. And the tool is needed for the lower screen, or something similar.

Coming back to this thread just to update on my esv experience, and joe's service. If you remember I was sent a defective elevape from the vapor nation sale. It was defective in two areas, the magnet lid assembly and the bad battery cell(s). Joe said I would get a whole unit, and to just send the battery pack in. Then there was a "mix-up", and all I received was the battery. They sent the new lid assembly after I inquired, but I was hoping to experience what a "factory-tuned unit" was like and I was not given this opportunity.

I tested the unit, the battery seemed to work great after some coil tweaking but it would ramp up at the end of my draw. But I figured this was because I take unusually large draws, and it worked really well for most of the hit. I already have plenty of portable vapes with more coming so I cleaned it up, installed the new magnet lid assembly, and sold it at a huge loss, hoping it would be somebody else's gain.

But the replacement battery pack somehow went bad right away/in transit, and the person I sold the esv to was charged another $60 to replace it! This is right after it was just replaced, meaning the crap battery pack replacement was another, untested(?!) crap battery pack. I know they aren't technically liable to replace the battery again since I re-sold the vaporizer, but for a new vaporizer company that's trying to establish a brand that's just shit service.

I will not ever patronize ipuff again, or whatever they morph into with their recent merger because they seem to have already abandoned this particular brand. I hope they will treat edit better in the future, giving him a full warranty after this, because this is no way to service customers :disgust:

The smallest, the mouthpiece screen, should not be used imo. Just restricts airflow too much. Also I used the bottle cap screen method (detailed earlier) for the top instead of the stock hole screens now, its simpler.

Sorry for your misfortunes @grokit.
But I have to 100% disagree with you.
Elevapes customer service is and has always been top notch IMO.
Joe has bent over backwards and has even taken loses for many, many FC customers (myself included) to make sure everyone's happy with their unit.
Joe has always been there to help me out personally whenever I had any questions or issues with my Elevape.

I only understand that your experience was "100%" different than mine, @Vape Dr. :uhh:

I don't blame Joe, there is another involved at least in my case. I took a beating on the sale but I showed faith, after the defective parts were replaced the first time I bought the extra coils, the screen remover, and the stirring lid -- stuff that should be provided stock imo -- hoping that whoever I passed it on to would have a great experience with it. I did not expect that the second battery would also be defective, which I am sure soured edit's experience as well. Hopefully the issues with my former unit are finally behind it!

i would like to use this vape like my nano with small loads like 0.03 to 0.05g per load but i am not getting good results using such loads (especially regarding clouds)

But i am getting great results using 0.15 to 0.2g grinded with my volcano grinder...

are there any tricks to get good results with less herb... any expirience..
i tried to use the liquid pad from the crafty to tamp down the load but id didn t work... (this works good with the crafty to use less herb) maybe its because crafty is a hybrid convection/conduction and esv is convection...

????????????????

You dont want to tamp really, as loose as possible. Full bowl fine grind yields biggest clouds even at 305, but you can get clouds on smaller bowls too, just less so, may have to turn up heat or adjust draw during the hit, but if its ground fine enough you should see clouds. With a corset grind I usually see less clouds as well, but feel effects, similar for smaller pack of finer grind.

100% legit. I've had contact with the owner in the past, including a purchase. The company's been in business for many years and he's a major S&B and miniVap distributor. When the miniVap first came out, about 8-10 yrs. ago, he was the only distributor in the US for it.

His discount code also works, so delivered price is $124.50. Too tempting for me so I just bought one.

authorizedvaporizerdealer: "We test vapes and we get returns from all over Nor Cal" suggests that these are not necessarily new units. I asked Joe about this seller and he said he'd check it out and get back to me. Joe did say that at $150 that the price is below manufacturing costs. I wanted to be 100% sure I was getting a new unit, so I purchased directly from iPuff.

EDIT:
http://www.authorizedvaporizerdealer.com/product/elevape-smart-vaporizer has an updated desciription:
"Get a great deal on these returns. They were in some shops that could not sell them. Been on display but never used. Now is your chance to get an incredible deal on a new vaporizer that is sophisticated in design. Limited supply of this deal. Get them while available.

The Elevape Smart Vaporizer. New in box. Not used but were on display."

Doesn't bother me a bit. Like I said, I've already bought from him, and I know how long he's been in business.

"We also offer the only comprehensive Money Back Guarantee in the business. We offer up to 60 days money back, with at least 30 days on all new vaporizer products. This great guarantee is in addition to the manufacturer's warranties!" http://www.authorizedvaporizerdealer.com/pages/pricematch
