So I chose to burn instead of vape last night..

I have to say, my lungs feel like absolute crap. I found a month old toothpick joint in my old cigarette case and figured I would see if it was still decent. It was, but at the same time, my lungs now feel like they're coated in nastiness. My MFLB and Solo have me so spoiled these days. I can't understand how I used to smoke a blunt to the head in the "good ol days" and still be OK.

What sucks is I have some beautiful glass, but it honestly seems useless these days. It sits there getting dusty because it never gets used.

Many of us continue to use and grow our glass collections vaping rather than smoking. While there are some difference between what styles are best for vaping compared to smoking, nearly any smoking piece will still work for vaping. It is just less necessary as the hits need less smoothing.

The higher the temp you are vaping, the more benefit you may get from water. But the water conditioning is always nice. At least that is how it works for me.

 That's so common to hear that, even from those who had a hard time making the switch to vapor. Once your throat and lungs get used to vapor, going back to smoke can be a shock to the system.

Yep. I never even had a decent glass piece until I got one for vapor. With the right adapter the Solo is easy to use with glass. You can easily increase the size of your hits while still having a smooth draw.

DHGate has been a game changer for me. I could not justify buying American glass, but DHGate made it a no brainer. Theyre not aesthetically flawless, but they function well enough. Now, I only vape dry with an on the go portable. If you already have a bong, hook it up to your solo.

You have achieved 'Vapor Snob' status.

Thanks Max, I'll do some looking. LHS's all seem to mark glass up 100%. Stuff I think looks like about $50 pieces are going for north of $100.
Hey now,
The D020 from Sunshine Store on DHGate is U$19.03, add 28 points for FX and CC charges, so that's $24.36. Not bad pricing IMO, you just have to wait 14-30 days for delivery...You just have to be comfortable with your name going into a database when they xray your package at the Customs/Canadian PO. If you are not comfortable with that thought then you have to buy from your local LHS...

I accidentally combusted last night. I was watching hubby play GTA 5, and not paying attention to what I was doing. It was god awful. The taste was horrid. :puke: I was coughing all night, and woke up this morning to a sore throat. I had to instantly go scrub my bubbler and glass parts with alcohol and salt.

Good info. "Not bad pricing" is an understatement. I think it's safe to say that $25 won't get you such a nice piece anywhere in Canada (or the US), LHS or on-line. The D020 is a little small for me, and I gave mine away last Xmas, but it's hard to beat for the $ and bigger pieces are available.

What were you using Vicki? Just curious.

^^ That's the one I'm using. It's a bit bigger than the D020.

The D020-D and the MiniVap is a match made in heaven.

Ahh.. Didn't realize I had found a different item than the standard D020.

The genuine article from Mobius is $330. plus shipping.

A functioning knockoff for $45. shipped to your doorstep is a steal! Yes you are paying $9. more than folks in the states. But that's life man.

Wow. I'm quite new to DH Gate and the whole knockoff china glass scene... Had no idea these were knockoffs of known designs or whatever.

So yes, amazing savings over the genuine article. :)

Hey now,
You can find the names of all the best vendors within the cheap bubbler thread. I had zero problems with Kathy057 and Sunshine Store. My last purchase from DH Gate was last fall when our dollar was a little stonger.
The 'heart' of the issue with respect to Chinese glass is that every package shipped gets xrayed in Canada (or US) Customs/Post Office.
While the contents of your package are inert they are easily identified under xray.
The Customs declaration by the vendor is key here. It is most likely your package won't be opened.
As such there is no reason think that your name will not end up on some sort of LE database. It will.
I've seen the D020 at shops around here priced from CAN$60-$95. If you want to remain anonymous, spend the extra at your local or do as I always do, 'I really like this piece but, can you a bit better on the price?"
I referenced this one in my post above http://www.dhgate.com/store/product/d020-bubbler-hand-blown-glass-vase-perc-water/175832535.html

I actually tried smoking joints again recently for nostalgia sake and found they gave me seriously bad headaches (don't know if this is anyone elses experience) but it was noticeable that I was getting headaches from it, so i'm going to abstain from that for now on.

Doesn't surprise me, there's a lot of nasty junk involved in burning stuff. When I smoked cigarettes I had heartburn and headaches every day. When I quit, they magically went away. I've had 1 headache in the last 6 months since quitting combustion, and that was from dehydration on a running day, lol. I haven't had heartburn since I quit cigarettes, 3 years ago. Its actually one of the things that keeps me from going back to cigarettes when I think I could really go for one.

Lack of oxygen from the carbon monoxide or whatever other junk will cause the headaches and tobacco relaxes the esophagus which leads to the heartburn. All the things I didn't realize at the time.

I feel bad for ex-cig smokers who have fond memories of the cancer sticks. My memories mostly consist of feeling my cardiovascular system go downhill in a big way-heart and lungs both. I knew that if I kept it up it would kill me. Quitting for me was almost 20 yrs. ago and thankfully those 'bad old days' are still fresh in my mind. Stopping the mj smoking came 10 yrs. later and I well remember my lungs thanking me for switching to vapor.
