The Dipstick Vaporizer

Mister G

Deceptively Old Fart
Never heard of this, but saw it mentioned in the Grasshopper Indigogo comments section, apparently this is a concentrates vape where you fill it by dipping the tip in your material, claims "no mess." Did not see a thread for it here, so thought I'd make one even though I have no interest in this product (I don't have access to conentrates much)

I was able to try the DipStick at the cannabis cup this year.

The DipSticks first impression was great.

Its second impression was even better! Good enough to want to do a review on!

The Dipstick is essentially an electric nectar collector. Very innovative and very well made.

The ability to be able to dab virtually anywhere grabbed my attention.

Here are a few unboxed pics. I am charging the batteries up right now to do a review.:brow:

Is that not just a naked heating element as found in many 510 threaded ego style wax pens?

No. The heating element on the dipstick has a hole in the center where you draw the vapor through.
I used it quite a few times and so far so good.

I did notice the slower you draw the better. If you draw super hard the coil dims because your drawing air through the center of the coil.

I used one coil for wax and the other for shatter. If you take a nice slow draw you get much bigger hits.

I soaked and burnt the coils before I used them just to be safe and get the best taste right off the bat.

The dipstick is much more conservative than a nectar collector, but same principle.

I'm seeing how long the batteries last now. :ko:

Here is my unboxing video on the DipStick!
Video review to come shortly!

This seems like the real deal. very excited to see the usage video!

I havent even used my LavX pen in a long time simply for the fact that its a hassle and it tastes like garbage. That being said I'm in need of a new pen lol

I have to tell you @mrgohamilton the DipStick is an absolute beast and tastes fantastic!

The batteries last a very long time (over 50 dabs last night....yes it was a good night:rockon:) and each coil should last you 8 months or more with proper maintenance. You can clean the coil and reclaim chamber in a baby food jar, or even a pill bottle (if your not keeping the reclaim) with ISO in a few minutes!

After using the DipStick solidly for a week I see no reason to use any of my pens, oil rigs, or E-nails if I'm in the mood to dab. Every piece and part for the DipStick is also available seperately, including extra batteries at www.thedipstick.com

The DipStick can give you nice smooth very flavorful hits or it can also give you ridiculous clouds!
Your in control so you choose how you want to hit it.
It is also very conservative.

The DipStick is now my favorite way to do dabs, and it's completely mess free!

No buyers remorse with the DipStick from me!
I'm one happy dabber now.:brow:

Usage video and written review should be up next week! I will be sure to post the video on the thread as always!

@Chill Dude The DipStick is made of surgical and food grade materials.

The air path goes through the food grade ceramic coil, past a small silicone coupler, through a stainless steel air path the length of the unit to another small silicone coupler right through the mouth piece.

It is made to tolerate heat much higher than it produces.

I believe they are made in Texas.

I have been steadily using mine with spectacular results. I absolutely love it. Once you use it enough you really get the hang of it and it's even more impressive!

How does it do in terms of conservation? I am worried that I will be taking too big of dabs than I mean to. How much material would you say you are using for each hit?

@darthvaper24 you can take as little as .05 to .25 to as much as you can handle, it's all up to you. You are in control of the size of the hit.
You can take nice mellow pen size hits or blow clouds!!!

seems really nice but the price point pretty much kills it. I get that it's revolutionary and all but it's a matter of time before others come up with the same design or similar ones anyways and the prices will come down.

The price really isn't that bad when you think about it. A normal glass nectar collector is about that much and requires a torch to operate. This thing just needs a charged battery. Plus its not as fragile as a glass piece, big bonus. I think this is a unit for someone who is really into concentrates and not necessarily for someone who is more of a every now and again dabber.

FWIW, it only has a 90 day warranty, but they sell a year long warranty for an additional $15.

My concern with this is that it won't be as good as a RDA mod. The vapors look like the same I would get from a vape pen.

@jumanji with the DipStick you can blow huge clouds or get nice hits similar to a Dr Dabber or Persei with a kiss cartridge it all depends what you can or want to handle.

I just got a silicone coupler and added a W9 tech Nibbler G spill proof water pill. Now I can take lung busting water filtrated hits everywhere I go!

DipStick video review on the way!

This looks very promising but the $250 pricepoint seems excessive imo. It looks more like something in the $120-$150 range to me.

yeah definitely too expensive. Even $199 would be high. If this was $150 and under, it would be worth it.

The dipstick isn't really that expensive when you look at the price of nectar collectors.
The dipstick is an electronic nectar collector so to speak.
If your not heavily into concentrates I can see the price being an issue, I agree they would be flying off the shelves if they were $200 or less. But they have no other competition so they had to start the price somewhere.
I'm sure the price will come down as they improve on it.
I would like to see a cut out in the body with a glass vapor path so you know the size of a hit your getting.
This is why I moded the nibbler G to it so I could see the size of my hit.

I still absolutely love my dipstick and use it way too much because of the convenience factor.

Video review is done, I just have to get back home and put it on YouTube!

It is a risk at the asking price considering the extremely short warranty. Doesn't speak of the manufacturer having faith in the product.
