You're making me consider recalculating my bed time, @Cereal_MF. I may have to go for a night cap. I'm breaking in a new batch, and it's seeming to be quite sativa-ish. A nice change after my most recent material, what I'm calculating to have been an indica dominant hybrid (still got a tad left to run some comparisons : ). I am loving it. Recently there was a question on fc regarding distinguishing between Sat and Ind. I'd say if you're having trouble distinguishing and really want to be able to do so, clear things out for a day or two (if you have the luxury of doing so), pick a strain dominant in each (again, if you have the luxury of doing so, which I absolutely don't have at present) then vape one one day at low temps, pay attention and note (in writing) how you feel around 45 minutes later. Vape the other one the next day at low temps and note (in writing) feelings 45 minutes later. After the second day, read and compare notes. Fun guaranteed.

so if you were to vape at high temp or smoke, the higher intake of CBD's would make it harder to distinguish? Would a sativa feel more like indica?

I hope I'm not being a simpleton about things, because I am definitely not an expert nor a scientist with any of this. But yes, exactly what you say is what I'm thinking.
With my prior stash, my buzz on AA blue (lowest temp setting) was definitely different than it is on my current stash. This one is lighter and more head-oriented, the other was stonier and thicker and seeped down into my body more. I was more prone to seeking out a spot (to sit) to vegetate happily.
The other night I was with my buddy who is a combuster. I didn't want him to have a questionable first experience with a vaporizer so we hit my new stuff (for the first time) at higher AA temps. We both got a little bit thick headed, in a good way. But I could notice the difference. I was a little concerned at that point that I had just gotten a batch of inferior bud. So to find out, I went at it fresh and clear headed yesterday at the low temp. And now I'm sure there's a difference between my prior lot and my current lot, which I'm chalking up to being related not to inferior bud but to differences between sativa dominant and indica dominant bud.
For those of us who don't have the benefit of having our bud identified and labeled for us, perhaps an initial vape at a low temp will help us get an idea of what kind of bud we've got. It's probably a little harder to distinguish between the two via combustion.

Happy to say my week (or so) long mission to restock is complete. After picking up some nice sativa dom. bud through a friend over the weekend, tracked down locally what was identified as super silver haze. Tried some (on a brass screen that I domed for my Air). Which would mean I'm vaped, nicely, and earlier than usual.

I'm not sure if this is tolerance related or vape related. But I picked up some unidentified the other night and it is very very head oriented. I've been a pleasure to be with this evening, if I must say so myself. Chatting, laughing, the whole nine yards. And it's Tuesday. Highly uncommon. Is it just that once every 10 yr. "magically socialized moment" or could this be due to my new favorite UB (unidentified bud)? More research is required…

I'm a little dabbed.... a little medible'd, and we are heading out the door to go on our Anniversary Road Trip!
Yes, girls & boys, E and the Hubby are celebrating our 16th! wedding anniversary today... there will be laughs, there will be tears, there will be hilarity, and we are planning on heading up Hwy 101 towards Sequim... we acquired our dragon on that trip, some years ago... it's lovely, along the Hood Canal.
I'll be packing some meds, and a couple of methods of enjoying, and we'll probably do a little "dispensary hopping" and check out what's available in someone else's neighborhood!
I'll be topping off before I walk out the door. And, NO, I'm not driving... Hubby prefers to pilot, I'm the navigator.

Overdid w&b just a bit early a.m.. Now: Chem Bread shatter (Botanico, Denver - their in house product) in an electric portable vape - the Haze 2.5, Nu-SONG and using Pinnacle Hydrotube glass (custom bent SS mp).
New to 'trates so I'm finding it doesn't take very much. Vaped about 1/2 what I did this a.m. and I'm feelin' groovy.

Finally had my chance to use the Magical Butter machine today. Put 60 grams of trim and popcorn buds into 3 cups of coconut oil.
Brownies are cooling, but I'm already feeling it from licking out the bowl. Hope these are really potent. I feel like getting irresponsibly way too high.
Also found a little bottle of rather fancy dispensary bud that had been reviewed in one of the local mmj trade magazines. Cotton Purple Chem.
Ok, I'm eating Brownies now.
