Gear HE Carb Cap method

yeah, I'm still turning people on to the thing when they try mine, everyone agrees after trying it, never go without it again. How you use it is totally up to you, lots of different methods out there, have fun experimenting :D

I love you 710 whip with the dap cap. Not having to take off the carb cap gets everything just that little much hotter. No dabs pool ever. I have left it on for like 12 hours and it was totally white again.I happy I didn't by a more expensive enail.

My friend liked mine so much he bought one right away. He doesn't even keep his heat up all the way.

Why did this thread die suddenly? It was so good and informative. I can't find a good cap for my Quartz banger. I have a plain ceramic domeless with carb cap.

One example. If I get a pool because the temperature was so low, would you recommend putting on the cap and reheating when everything is cold? Since ceramic tends to crack, would this strategy fail to work?

i have the low temp top V3 and it works perfectly with quartz bangers, quartz domeless, InfiniTi nails etc... has 3 different holes to screw the 2 included dabbers into (HE dabbers also screw in, not as secure though).

There is not yet a quartz cap that will fit the SiC dish. One is coming.

The Pukinbeagle carb you identify there is a 16mm carb, which would be too small for an infiniti dish let alone the SiC (which is almost twice the diameter).

Just get the proper universal 2.0 carb, it's gonna work on pretty much any other domeless nail you come across too! When the time comes, grab the quartz one ;)

Remember, whilst matching quartz carb would be nice; SiC with the ti carb >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any other currently available option (I may eat these words when my sapphire halo dish arrives!).

For a big flavor kick, try loading the dab on the nail cold, then cover with carb cap and heat the whole thing until vapor starts coming out the carb hole, then draw. For big dabs, repeat heating and drawing leaving the cap on the whole time. Mmmm..so goood.
Dude thanks for the tip it works freaking awesome!!

Really? :uhh: hmmm...

^^^ That's also what I thought.

^^^ I just tried it as well, and holy cow am I surprised.
:o

Placed a dab on the sapphire insert cold and fired 'er up.
A bit under 575* melt was occurring (I cheated a couple of times and looked under the carb cap).
Vapor right after that.
Hit it hard; it was milky.
Got three BIIIIIGGGG hits out of it + another small one (I just let the nail continue to heat up).
All three large hits were super milky and the exhale was much cloudier than usual.
Taste was more pronounced, but I don't think the effect is quite as strong? (Not sure).
I did a normal "hot" dab afterward as the nail was hot; that one was a nice topper.

Might try a cold then hot dab cycle for a bit to see how that works.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say I stumbled across this thread while doing information about carb caps/low temp dabs. My buddy was telling me about how on a low temp dab, you dab it in, and you don't get much vapor, and then once you cap it, it plumes up? He tried showing me with my equipment, but it kind of failed to work.

What I notice though, and I tend to dab at a higher temp but not too high, is that I get a big hit of vapor, and then once I cap it, it almost milks it double? I can see it filling up much thicker with vapor whenever I cap it, but I haven't really been able to get the whole "poof" aspect if that makes sense; can't seem to find the sweet spot between it being too cool and too hot (IE: My dab melts into a puddle, or it just fries instantly) and I don't have the concentrates for tooo much trial and error so I tend to just do it my way, heat up decently, let cool 10 secish, dab, cap, as I know it works, just don't think I'd consider it low temp.

But I was very intrigued by this, load a dab on the cold nail, and cap, and then heat. Figured I'd HAVE to be able to have a low temp dab success this way. And by golly, it does work! A great tasting pretty thick first hit. A huge milky 2nd hit. usually get like 3-4 more pulls of varying thickness. And I get high as a kite.

And I use considerably less concentrate :) great technique, appreciate the knowledge. My nail I just cleaned too prior to using, had it iso soaking for a bit. I can say that there is very minimal residue (IE: nothing) left over using this tech as well :) One happy camper! Cheers!

Yep, I still use this method from time to time.
It especially works well with hard to handle concentrates like crumble wax as one can load it onto the nail while the nail is cold.

In my previous post I noted that I "cold-dabbed" on the Sapphire Insert; which I have.
I've since found that the method works at least as well, if not better, when done in just the SiC dish.

I've been loading the dab with the nail cold.
Putting on the carb cap.
Turning on the nail and setting to 777*.
Around 600-650* a small vapor trail will start to escape from the hole in carb-cap.
@ that point, hit it for instant white wall.

When dabbing with a hot nail I will typically run the SiC dish @ 627*.
Hot dabs on the SiC + Sapphire @ 777*.
I find that if I try to do a "cold-dab" with the controller set @ 627* the PID slows down the heating process as it approaches 627*.
Whereas if one sets it to a higher temp (for me 777*) it will continue through the 600* mark quickly thus aiding vaporization of the cold loaded dab.

:D
