Hi to All, maybe this has been covered already(I did not thoroughly read through each post on this thread first so guilty as charged)but the control wheel on my unit came off. It happened when I was pulling it out of a pocket on a hard shell, portable storage case for the Alfa and the paraphernalia i keep with it. Of course I was able to put it right back on and it does not effect the usage of the Alfa…but was just curious if this has happened to others??? Thanx in advance…..

Take care…..Frodo

That has not happened to anyone in this thread, that I've read. Very sorry to hear it. I'm curious; what was holding it in place? You were able to put it back on, so it must be friction or something?

No i have not heard that before. I have heard of a few people complaining that the wheel was a bit loose though for a few and when they put it in there pocket it would sometimes turn on accidentally. The fix was to wrap a few strings of fishing line between the wheel to stiffen it up.

Quick ? Folks. I used to hate the pax 1 cause it would cool down outside in colder conditions. Does the alfa have that problem. Also is draw slow and steady like the pax 1?

I have not had a problem in cold weather , i used to own a pax 1 and in my opinion the Alfa is much better to me. Now Pax 2 is out and i have heard good things but have not tried it to compare. As for draw , i'd say it is pretty free flowing with this vape , there is really no draw resistance. You can pull as hard as you'd like or go slow and steady , it will work both ways. This is my go to vape for outdoors when i want to be discrete , it is small in size and that is what i like most about it. I have others i use for around the house or daily use . If you had a pax 1 , you will be much happier with this i hope. I had a few problems with my 1st and 2nd unit but problem was finally solved so i am hoping you get a good unit also. Best of luck.

No problem , that's what this forum is for. If you need any help when you get it just post here or feel free to message and i'll try my best. By the way , just would like to pick your brain , are you new to vaping and if so what made you pick this vape over all the others ?
Not an expert by any means but started vaping in 2011. Started with eciga like with tinctures and what not then dab globes then I came upon a real paX learned how to use that but sold it cause I went back to combustion. Now I wanna go back to vaping and did research and the alfa seems to fit my needs. And I can get it on a discount. Was either this tge FM mini or the summit. alfa seems tge best of the three

Cool , coming from combustion this is a pretty decent vape. It hits a bit harder than most portables I have tried. My sessions don't last as long as some of my other portables but it's a good starter going straight from combustion imo. Make sure your material is somewhat dry and it works well when grinded. I usually stuff it the chamber and push it down with a poker until I can't fit anymore . Oh and don't get worried the battery takes forever to charge .

Hey guys, is there anyone here that is good with CAD/3D modeling. Can anyone recreate the goboof alfa mouthpiece, but be able to customize it? Maybe one with a built in screen, or another one that is an inch long or so. Maybe even a GonG adapter? It would be great if someone with 3d modeling knowledge could make these, so that I could get them 3d printed for use. Thanks!

Yeah, the guy at GotVape said there were two problems with the original ones, a software glitch that made it think it was overheating so the unit won't heat up, and also a heater issue. He didn't specify exactly what the heater issue was.

He also said that both issues had been addressed by Goboof. They had many returns from the original batch (he was actually surprised that mine lasted three months) but since they received the newer units they haven't had return problems. So I thought that was encouraging.

So off it goes this morning. He said as soon as they receive it they will ship out a new one.

Hi @2 Paces ,

I am having the same exact heating issue and was wondering if they fixed the issue or sent you a new one. I actually bought mine back in November (first batch I think) and its always been an issue but didnt realize how bad it was until I tried someone elses brand new alfa.

Do you think I should send to gotvape or just deal directly with Goboof. Any other advice would be helpful.

I dont mind if it takes 2-3 weeks as long as I get the latest and greatest version.

Thanks,
Jose

Id go directly through goboof. Gotvape imo has some of the worst service i have ever dealt with. I was given the run around. I wont even get into it but i'd say go through goboof directly. Email them , it will prob take a day or 2 for them to get back to you but they have been so helpful and easy to deal with.

Hmm... OK. I actually called gotvape and they immediately gave me an RMA number. I do have to pay for shipping both ways ($20 total) but they said they would either repair or replace it. Has anyone sent their alfa to gotvape and if so what exactly did they do?

I sent mine twice to gotvape 1st time i was told there was a second update , took 3 weeks , got it back with note saying they raised each temp by 40 deg and there was a 2nd update , when i got it back it would not heat up properly. I emailed goboof direct and was told there was only 1 update and they shouldn't have raised the temps. Second time sending it back to gotvape they stated nothing was wrong with it and just kept my unit, I did not have a good experience ,I dont want to really get in-depth on the subject but went to goboof direct again and they took care of me and a happy forum member now owns it. I got another one from a friend of mine in trade and it works perfectly , a total night and day difference from the one gotvape said they had fixed. There is my experience and i am hoping you have a better one and get a working unit back in a timely fashion. Also i don't think they are right in charging you shipping for something like this , that is why there is a warranty in place , i could understand if you broke it but that's not the case.

Just curious, how Is this your fault? Why are you paying for shipping both ways? ($20) Shame on got vape for making you pay for a defective product. You paid shipping the first time and thats all you should pay.
I had an Alpha.
It put out amazing clouds at first(one day)and then it wasted my material every session after that.
Puffitup took great care of me and covered return shipping and I got an Arizer Air instead shipped free!!

Also, adding on to my list of alfa accessories, a packing tool that fits the oven perfectly, or something similar to a pax pusher that takes up extra space in the oven. I feel like the pusher would be easy to make, a cylinder with a hole in the middle, can't be hard to model, I just have no clue how to do it. I am willing to pay for the files by the way.

GotVape sent me a brand new unit. It took a couple phone calls (they said they would ship the following day on two occasions but did not), but I had a brand new unit two weeks after I sent mine in. I was happy with their return service overall. Not sure how Goboof is direct.

FYI, I had to pay shipping to get the new unit to me, but Gotvape sent me a prepaid label to get the defective unit to them.

Stay charged, my friends
Alfa is not that smelly in my opinion, just keep it maintained by cleaning it occasionally. I like to keep mine in a small plastic bag just to protect the casing.
