MiniVAP Vaporizer

I have a Plenty, Volcano and Mighty already, the Crafty's poor battery wasn't cutting it I'm afraid :( I'm intrigued by the pure convection on the MiniVap, so had to give it a try. If we fall in love I'll be saying bye bye to the Plenty.

I have both MV and the Crafty, why did you prefer the MiniVAP?

Are you being serious?????
I had Crafty in the past..
Now I have both the Mighty & Minivap and these two mad asses are more than enough to please me..
Because of these two insane my 17 vapes are collecting dusts atm..
3~4 month ago I was very skeptical about Hermes and my Green Minivap too, but I was wrong!

Minivap really outperforms the Mighty, in terms of how high (it's just a different high) I can get from less amount of food but it just takes longer to heat up, and need to wait in-between hits.

Be patient like a Jedai and you will become a MV Yoda!:leaf::myday:

But I like it!
It's 07:52. I've made a coffee, put some Green Dragon in it, then walked the dog. He's been busy chasing geese and ducks off the beach and back into the deep water where he learned not to go a bit earlier in the year (when you get a certain distance out in the water the birds will just stop and wait for you, which is a good time to turn around ;)

Anyways, I'm home, the wife has gone golfing with our weekend company, and I'm sitting here using the @Ratchett universal adapter stuck onto the end of the whip, and it's working great in the 18mm opening of a Blaze Glass watertool. Burble burble.

Happy 07:52 y'all :)

Almost there...
It's 13:39 here and my MV is far away from me...Sitting in the dark on the charging cradle...
At least she will be all charged when I get home!

Spent a lot of the weekend using the MV out and about in the garden, always been an indoor vape so this was cool!!
My wife actually grabbed it from me a few times to take some decent hits!! Only issue is she cleans out the kitchen and then passes out for a while!! Too funny!!

My MV is still my top tasting and super effects vape!!
No other portable I have had comes close to it!!

I sometimes cheat and use the Heat Island till the MV hearts up... I feel dirty... ;)
...............................................................

That's ok as your miniVAP knows you're just using the "second fiddle" until the "first fiddle" is warmed up and ready to take it's rightful place as the star of the show ;)

Just checking in to report zero problems with the 2015 MV's.

The glass unit seems to heat up considerably faster than the teflon one, which is curious. However they both work great as soon as the light goes solid

the glass core works especially well with unground material, which is my favorite way to use the MV. I am back to using the lid with a cut down flexi+ mated to a 14mm glass adapter. Main reason for using the lid is it seems to help with roasting unground nugs. I think it's the radiant heat.

Glass core with unground nug is just stellar

Edit: Teflon core is still great and with unground nug the flavor is endless. It just takes more draws to get a full extraction, which could be a plus or a minus depending on your goals. Definitely preserves flavor better than glass

Also getting in the weird habit of using the MV with my Ion... Dry. Still cools the vapor and catches particulates without stripping flavor. It's possible that I am just getting weird

.................................................................

I experiment with my Ion with minimal water, like perc 2/3 covered for less bubbles/diffusion.
That's probably like halfway to dry Ion use.

I think I tried it dry once and the draw felt weird, like no resistance which should feel good but it just felt odd/strange. Guess I'll have to give that another go......

Hmm. A large sliver of plastic has just sheared off the top of the battery unit, around the lip, apparently with no provocation or any evidence of why or how it happened.

Thankfully none of the parts that lock it into place, but the flat surface underneath those ridges that you slot together, if you see what I mean. Literally removed the battery and this piece fell off.

Has never been dropped, has been treated with kid gloves, especially after waiting 6 weeks for a replacement last time.

Anyone else?

The only thing thats sheared off at the neck right now is me... I've been noticing that my ABV has been coming out much lighter than it used to. This after thinking that Red just wasn't giving me the same kick... I've only had it back a short while... what could it be? It could be, and completely was, user error... I've been packing tight for some reason, which I didn't notice until I popped a bud straight in and it came out a nice dark brown. So no pack at all, and straight on blue and big clouds - we're back, and all is good. I put a small screen in and went straight to red and my head is being unscrewed as we speak. Typing is surprisingly not as bad as expected... :)

Does anyone use concentrates with the minivap?

I would like to try and what I currently do is mix a bit of flowe and oil together and use it in the basket and a bong on top.

Seems to work but not sure if this is wasting any if the proper process?

So I am currently at my parents home and brought my whole arsenal, from my herbie to my mighty. Bedridden from sickness, I am currently watching the golden state gate game hitting different vaporizers. As Stickstones always points about the vape signature, I lie on my bed and take pulls from my others and watch the vapor in the lights and nothing has the unique color and density of the minivap, as we all know that it has the unique laminar flow. My current travel setup: fbomb with Hermes 14mm adapter.

I have one problem with the minivap when charged with battery. It feels like a waste to charge to red and have one bowl. I need to get the puck when Stickstones takes over as U.S. Retailer. But at the same time, one bowl in minivap is not equivalent to the others.

I agree 100%! I noticed this myself but thought I was high. lol

My unit is performing tip top. Still using the stainless steel small ring in the bottom with the teflon on top and I think it strikes a good balance between taste and cloud production. Going to switch it up again soon just to make sure it's not just all in my head.

Hope you feel better soon @mixchu69!

Looks like my MV got lost in the post or something. Emailed Alfredo to ask where it was, he emailed back (promptly!) that it was picked up 2-3 days ago and he'll have to track the package. Someone somewhere is probably enjoying my MV as I type this. Bah.

Is there a quick history of the Minivap somewhere that can I read? I'm confused because their site lists it as a launching special making it sounds like the vape just came out? However this thread is 5 years old at this point.

Has there been several versions of this vape? I'm really intrigued by the pure convection and I love the design (looks like a log almost). But $500 is a lot for a portable if it has been out for 5 years already.

If you've questions ask away.. The history isn't relevant at this point.

There are two versions utilising slightly different what we refer to as a core.
There is a Teflon version that has an imo unsurpassed ability to give a funky flavourless session.. By this I mean it seems to not degrade to the charred for lack of a better word taste that comes with many vapes I've tried. It's 4 settings let you get where you want.
I can't speak for the glass core. I haven't got one.

On a side note. If you guys remember me speaking about the seemingly strange placement of my returned Tcores visible heater.
That was, I can only fit the larger Teflon ring.. Otherwise it's poking out to much for my liking..
This is said beast..
Remember this is heater, no small ring, ultrafine screen, normal screen, Tring.
