I go where the thrills are
There's a lot more ff users out there that never come to fc than do, and they probably know nothing about the battery mAh differences. I'm not surprised that ff would want to get rid of the 750s as we're likely the only ones requesting 770s in their place, as long as they're not the defective ones but how to tell.
Sadly, those users probably think the firefly is a piece of shit vape. Then they say as much to their friends etc. If I was firefly I'd have these 750s in the trash. If people view the firefly as 1 bowl per battery, it'll definitely hurt their reputation, and in turn sales. If the firefly was this bad on battery by design, I'd go back to the mighty and sell the firefly again.

Maybe I'm just a sap (wouldn't be the first time I've been accused of that...or maybe it would....)....but I don't think FF is purposely pushing out old battery stock, especially since these 750s seem to get sent out to "power uers" who have specifically requested the new 770s. My understanding, thin though it may be, is that FF contracts out to a few warehouses around the country for geographical proximity to customers, and that some of these warehouses are mistakenly sending out 750s to customers ordering new batteries. Seems like this specific issue is easier to fix than the "750s already packed with new FFs" problem. One requires tossing out the batteries. The other requires repackaging, or ensuring they send out the 770 as a separate battery to all new cutomers until the bundled 750 stock is gone.

Why the warehouses don't, or aren't instructed to, just TOSS the stand-alone 750s is a mystery. But I'm really loathe to assume any purposeful pushing out of bad stock on FF's part...just doesn't seem congruent with how they operate. Rarely have I encountered a company with a stronger sense of the whole "lifetime value of a customer" ethic.

I feel Mitch is right 100%. It would go against everything this company has done so far. However it doesn't make them look any better in the customers eye. We are talking about a very expensive vape. It shouldn't be the customers responsibility to make sure we have the proper battery.

Great Scott!
Exactly. If anything its less of an issue with me because I'm a vaporizer enthusiast. I have a mighty as a backup. If the firefly was my only vape, I'd want the batteries to last over 1 bowl each.

How many bowls per battery do you get?

Still waiting on a reply from them. Their customer support is usually pretty great so we will see!
I'd say about three, maybe four if I'm lucky. But I only need 3 hits to cash a bowl.

I'll give them a day or 2. First business day since I complained afterall. I've had good experiences with FF in the past, just want this damn new style battery! lol.

I've been leaving the mighty at home more often than not. Having 3 lesser batteries is cool and all, but I'd prefer to keep those in my car as spares. Anyone know how long a charged firefly battery will stay charged while just sitting? I'd like to carry the new one which should get a few bowls, and then the others will always be there IF i need them.

No denying it though, if I'm going to be gone all day I'm taking the mighty. If I had 3 GOOD batteries, that may not be the case much longer. Waiting to see how the new one is for me before I order a couple more.

EDIT: Just got an email saying I'll have a tracking number for the replacement tomorrow. What I was expecting from Firefly tbh. I'm plenty pleased that they are making it right and letting me keep the old spare.

Does anyone know if we can use firefly with a step down transformer .. i really want to purchase the unit but i see they don't offer anything for 240 v supply. Wonder if anyone here knows how to work around the voltage issue.

It should hold its charge (voltage) really well, but storing at full charge for extended time can and will cause the battery life to decrease a lot faster. This is why normally most batteries will come with a 60-70% (storage) charge.

I'm in the UK and got mine from vapefiend, from their website:
Includes:
1 x Firefly vaporizer
1 x High-powered 770 mAh Lithium-ion battery
1 x Mains Charger with UK Adapter
1 x Carry bag
1 x Cleaning kit
5 Year Manufacturer's Warranty

On my charger it states input 100-240v:tup: so just the included adapter required.

And they include the 770mAh battery:clap: even state it on site

Edit: just to add I'm one of the quiet ones here and I'm sure there are more of us  but my firefly is still working as good as day one  never combusted no matter how hard I try, great taste and big clouds when I want them

Just got my replacement FF. Came with a 750. So, my question is how do I get a 770? Do I just order the spare battery on their website or do I have to make a special request?

My advice: call them, tell them you heard there were issues with the 750s and you were expecting a 770 with your new FF. They will likely just send you one gratis.

I will try this. Though whether or not I get a free one I still want to purchase a spare to give them some support and I also need a concentrate pad. So has anyone who ordered a spare battery from their site recently get a 770?

I bought a spare battery via the FF site a few weeks ago, and it is a 770.

But that's not the real reason to buy an FF, and it sounds like you are looking for convection and flavor and conservation of material, and that would be the FF. It's heavy and high-quality and that gives it a durability all its own. In flavor it is out of this world, and I personally haven't tried a vape that can touch it for cool and natural flavor. Given your list of priorities, you should seriously consider it.

Mitch you were/are absolutely right! I picked up the firefly shortly after reading your reply. I ordered it directly from firefly. The learning curve was really not an issue after reading this and the "best of" thread. I am totally in love with my firefly. It works perfectly for my needs. I use it in my car during the day, and it definitely does not smell as much as the Pax or the Ascent. I am no longer getting comments from my boyfriend and the girls I drive home from work about how my car reeks like weed, a win for sure. I love how it's ready right away and I don't have to use a fuck ton of material. I have been saving weed and my ascent is gathering dust (the pax has been sold!). I have an Evo so that's what I use when I'm home. This was to be strictly for use on the go mostly in my car, while parked. How do I know this is an amazing portable? It's the only one I've ever considered using at home.

On a side note this thing is durable as all hell! No chips in this paint. And if anyone tries to sneak up on me in the parking garage I bet I face punch them with the FF and it still works after.

You know, I was having kind of a shitty afternoon and this post really cheered me up! Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Glad I could be helpful, and mostly glad it's working so well for you. Don't be shy about posting if you run into any problems...I can assure you amongst us we've seen 'em all. (Or most of them! :p)

I'm a new firefly owner. My first firefly would blink blue, green, and red colors in a wide variety of patterns from the led during its first charging session. There was nothing about this in the manual. I tried to use it but the power would turn off after heating for about 3 seconds and wouldn't even turn on until the battery was removed and reinsterted. I called firefly and they replaced it. The replacement charged like normal and I had a solid blue light. I used it and it seemed to work ok, definitely seems better without smoke. The 3rd time I sat down to take a few puffs, the light in the bowl turned off. The green led on the side also turned off. I turned the switch off and on but nothing happened. I figure the battery is dead. So I put it on the charger. After 1-2 hours I notice it is solid blue, green, blinking blue, etc. I have not seen a red led from this unit yet, but I would like to know what these colors and patterns mean.

Trapped in the Astral Planes Back from the dead
Solid blue = charged
Blinking blue = charging
Red = dead
Green = power on
Blinking green = heating
Are you charging your battery in the unit? If you are, the power switch should be in the off position while charging. Hope this helps. Also do you have 750mah or 770mah battery?
Mine would go from blinking green to no lights when one my 750mah batteries went bad.

What does solid blue, green, blinking blue mean? Almost done charging?

After about an hour of that pattern it had a solid blue light. Just tried the ff and it is definitely working.

Always charging with battery in unit. Always charging with unit off. 750 mah battery :(

Thanks for the heads up on another pattern I haven't seen or heard of yet that isn't in the manual lol

Off: Standby switch off (Not connected to adapter) Duh :p
Solid blue: Charged (Connected to adapter)
Blinking blue: Charging (Connected to adapter)
Green: Switch set to On, device is ready to be used. (Disconnected from adapter)
Green blinking: Device is heating up. (Disconnected from adapter)

Red: I believe this is when the unit overheats, i havent encountered it a single time with normal usage, only when i first started experimenting with it.

I would suggest to never plug in the device while the standby toggle is on, it might confuse the device when you attach it to the net. Personally I'd suggest always turning it off before plugging it in, at least it cant get confused. Same goes for the heater button, i think it doesnt do anything when plugged in to the net but id simply not touch it when it is.

(My suggestions are just pure speculation at this point though, better safe than sorry.)

Had the FF for half a year almost and still going good :)
