The heater really toggles many times per second? Is it because of the small size that it can't retain heat? If it needs constant heat adjustment, where is that dissipated heat going? I'm thinking about a Solo which just kicks on periodically to keep heat levels steady.

I suspect it's due to the size and draw speeds of the user. Imagine taking a 36mm long vapor tube and wrapping it into a 5mm tall disk. Depending on the diameter of the airpath, I'm guessing the wall thicknesses are less than 0.5mm. This will dissipate heat extremely fast. Simple laws of thermodynamics apply, the heater will cool down extremely fast (it is a heat exchanger after all!).

Sounds like the PCB has a some sort of proportional integral derivative control algorithm to compensate for the heater

User-changeable batteries in probably under ten seconds, or micro-sized USB battery pack connected while in pocket seem to make the GH a leader of the ultra-portable vape pack. Can't see where short battery life is really that much of an issue, if at all.

Well maybe because having to charge a device several times per day or having to carry a handful of batteries in your pocket at all times is not really my definition of fun? Ask MFLB owners what they think about that aspect in the long run...

I already find that all my portables with a single (large capacity) battery cell are a PITA because they don't deliver more than 30 cumulated minutes. And this is true whatever the brand, from the higher end Crafty to the Herbstick Deluxe or X-Max etc...

So yes for the kind of usage the GH is created for, it might not be a problem, but for me it means I would need a GH plus other vapes to cover my daily needs. The GH would be only a niche filler for the very rare occasions where the other portables wouldn't fit... making it a gadget rather than a serious daily driver alternative.

Those specific devices are known for having atrocious battery life. I wouldn't refer to them as large capacity vapes.

And then you have the inconvenience of slow extractions with them.

One issue with the gH is that we don't really know how quick we can extract a bowl.

What's so great there are new vaporizers coming out all the time. It looks like there are vapes that fit all kinds of lifestyles and medical or recreational needs. Some will find that this unit will fill that niche that they've been waiting for. Others will wait for the next great vaporizer that will be coming out.

I'm going to pick one of these up after our friends on FC give it a thorough review. FC will be the beta testers.

BTW I have a Mini Cooper S Clubman they are very nice and quick, very easy to park too. Plus a well made car.

The technology is only getting better. That is great news for us vaporizer fans.
It's wonderful to see sooooooo many are fucking combustion, better flavor and better health.:2c::peace::leaf:

EDIT
I hope the battery lasts longer that 4 draws on high. That might be a deal breaker for me.

Didn't @BuzzDanklin say four draws on high

That's not enough, how dark is it for him at four draws. But in the end that just one perspective.

Extraction rate is my top priority, if its pure convection and the heat doesn't let up on my draw then I should be able to kill the bowl assuming the temp is high enough, unfortunately 410F isn't high at all.

Buzz exhausted .3g using three "monster" hits through a bubbler at high temp.

Was this in some video?

@vapebuddy13 I'm an early backer as well so hoping I get those 3 units within the month, if not I wouldn't say I'm not surprised.

We are talking so much they are updating the site for our concerns my order actually says Bronze and it looks like they uploaded the pictures from the update on site for the models.

The Extraction rate on the GH is higher than any of my other portables, it is very powerful and fast at extracting.

As far as the temp goes, I could be way wrong, but I *think* the temp goes higher than it is rated when you have it set to max temp judging by flavor/effect feeling. (If I had to throw out a guess, I would say 425f) I will be anxious to hear other people's opinions of this once they are in peoples hands. I tried to measure temp with my laser thermometer without any luck

The 3 hits clearing a bowl was not in the video, I did it with the D020-D bubbler, and the longest/largest draws I could take. (and some coughing inbetween) I would say the .3g load was at least 90-95% cached after the 3 monster draws.

It has to go higher than 410 if you extracted .3g in 4 hits. Thanks for chiming in.

:mmmm: The Gray, Green, and Bronze are perfect nature colors, and the blue and purple look great for the evening.

Myself, I actually kind of feel like them not matching is a bonus. I'll like that little bit of reflectiveness on it, and my memory is telling me that most of the pens I've seen that had metal clips were plain silver regardless of the color of the pen itself.

I wouldn't mind so much if it's just the clip but if the band that wraps around the body to attach the clip doesn't match I'll be liking how it looks a little less. Definitely NOT a deal breaker but I'd like the whole body at least to match.

Half assed as far as original design, battery life claims, color options, and unlocked perks go... It's not like I'm making shit up here.

The only design change from the original that bothers me was the bowl position. The idea of unscrew, soak, rinse, pack, replace, repeat as a maintenance regimen blew me away. It was what made me want one. Now I still have to do that but ALSO dip a q-tip in ISO and run it around the chamber. Makes me tired just thinking about it. But seriously, I hate that it changes because it was so cool. But I trust when Trevor told me it was done to make the whole thing better overall. As far as colors go I think they're double-assed. The new colors are way better imo. I changed from grey to green (thanks, Trevor) as soon as I saw them. The only extra I want is an extra charger for the car. I hope you get what you want eventually (oils front end I'm guessing?).

That is EXACTLY what I was just thinking.

4 draws on high is for killing a bowl, battery is like 3-4 bowls, so 12-20 draws probably? With lower temps seems you can get 30 draws, I think that other review/filmmaker said he was staying at 340-356F on the dial, and getting like 30 draws or so on a charge a few pages ago.

I'm sure it also depends very much on how you draw as well, maybe with long slow sipping the battery lasts longer bc your not forcing the heater to compensate as much? And low temps should help a lot which I like anyway, hopefully we'll all know for sure soon enough...

All I want is what I paid for during the Crowdfunding portion, a Stainless Steel version, leather sleeve, and two batteries. Yes, I do believe that I'll get a final product, but it doesn't mean I have to be happy or accepting of delays and design changes.

I give credit where credit is due and so far the GH team hasn't earned any credit from me. If that makes me the bad guy then I guess I'll be the bad guy.

Edit: I'll also say that I don't think I'm a total dick. If this thing gets to me and I find it to be the end all be all of portable vapes then I'll eat crow and congratulate the GH team on a well made product and recommend the GH to all I know. Although, it better be fuuuuuuuuuuuuuckin impressive to garner that type of praise.

So a battery can probably vape at least a gram, and takes an hour to charge. Unless you are planning on being away from AC for long periods, it's hard to see how that's going to be a problem, especially with extra batteries being only 5 bucks.

Me and a friend or two could easily go through a gram and still not want to wait an hour before continuing, and sometimes we're in the woods. Did the extra battery carry thing with the MFLB and no thanks, and the idea of carrying a battery pack kind of destroys the portability idea.

It still will have its use, for when I'm alone. But it doesn't take much effort to imagine overwhelming the battery in a single session.

I will be looking forward to your review thanks for chiming in @Shit Snacks that sound more exceptable possibly upwards to 25 to 30 light draws.

I wouldn't have lung busting draws anyway but I just wouldn't want to have to keep changing out batteries if I was out and away from home. I would imagine I would be using it mainly on the go but if I really enjoyed using it I may want to use it all the time.:)

Yeah i agree 100%, needing to carry an extra battery pack that's at least the same size as the original davinci or a pocketful of batteries would kinda defeat the whole idea behind having a stealth Pen sized vape as far as I can see.
