Blind support is huuuuuuuge around these parts.

For me, it's a bit different. Using 3D printing technology for a heater is huge. This could be a game changer for future portable vapes. Imagine if we scaled up the technology slightly and put it into a cigar shaped vape. We could quadruple the battery life, and increase the size of the vapor path on both ends of the oven.

Imagine the performance of the Crafty in something the size of a dry erase marker! (Although you'd look like an idiot huffing on a marker all day long!)

Making it bigger would also allow for more insulation, longer vapor path....
....hmmm GH2.....?

We're here to fuck shit up.
Forgive my lack of over exuberant optimism. I didn't realize my stating of facts or my opinion was frowned upon and mistaken as my taking joy in others' sorrow.

You know, I'm waiting on one of these things too? I just don't see the brighter side of acting like GH is doing a huge favor to everyone by releasing a half assed version of what they set out to create years ago.

Half assed as far as original design, battery life claims, color options, and unlocked perks go... It's not like I'm making shit up here.

Maybe I'm blind but huh? I don't see any real comments frowning upon your post?
There's been skeptism posts on every page so it's nothing new, people are just getting more and more optimistic BC of how close things are.

And I mean from what it seems like, from day 1 no one believed the battery claims which to me were barely claims, I mean it was a crowfunding project, nothing was fully figured our, it was more of a goal in my eyes. So yeah the battery may not last 3/4 hours but its designed use should allow it to give you the same amount of usage as other portables on a battery.

The LOCUST!

Will there be an all black one available for purchase?
That's what dark grey is for, dont count on black for a long time if ever...

@Deadshort480 I wouldn't called it half assed, taking over a year to redesign parts of the unit for mass scale production, and making sure it is all high quality and works... I'd call it the opposite, ignoring the smaller frills and even the date, to ensure that the actual product is up to snuff before initial release, if it succeeds plenty of time to grow and work on the rest imo

preach brother! AMEN!

I agree 100%. Opinions and facts are welcome!
Whining about other people's opinions...not so much.
There's an ignore button with my name on it if you don't like what I have to say.

I haven't paid...yet. But I AM waiting on a killer portable herb Vape to be released.
I say if you can't take the heat...get out the kitchen.

Alright I got a response from Trevor about the heaters:

Sorry about the confusion on the heater. The peak output of all the heaters is in fact 45w. This is when the vape is cold and the battery charged. 30W is the average output. In reality it will almost always operate between 30w and 45w. To further understand this, the wattage changes based on battery voltage and a few other factors.

Know that the heater is not just running flat out at "30w", it is turning off and on many many times per second to keep a very precise temp. This is how we can run for such a long time at a high wattage with a small battery. The important thing is we have a huge amount of on demand power to dump when the user is taking a draw. You will find you can draw hard on the Grasshopper and it will keep up with you.

Best,

Trevor

The heater really toggles many times per second? Is it because of the small size that it can't retain heat? If it needs constant heat adjustment, where is that dissipated heat going? I'm thinking about a Solo which just kicks on periodically to keep heat levels steady.

Any vaporizer that maintains a precise temperature has to toggle on and off regularly. It's just simple physics.

OK, that is because the solo has a lot of thermal inertia, and a weak heater. Kind of like a VW Van or something. Takes a while to get going, takes a while to stop.

A Grasshopper is kind like a Mini-Cooper. Fairly strong engine, low mass. Quick and nimble.

Which sounds like more fun to drive?

I would have chose a lotus over a Mini Cooper they are gutless.

I love how he says "and run for such a long time" when even one of the people who they have had review it has reported battery life near the worst in the industry.

I think he means with the size of the battery used.

But the Mini Cooper's engine doesn't turn on and off more frequently does it?

And I still don't see that analogy addressing where exactly in the GH that heat is going to? Is it just inefficient at heat retention?

User-changeable batteries in probably under ten seconds, or micro-sized USB battery pack connected while in pocket seem to make the GH a leader of the ultra-portable vape pack. Can't see where short battery life is really that much of an issue, if at all.

lol I can't wait to see what sort of mix and match combos you guys come up with the color GHs. I wish the temp went up to 446° F or something along those lines instead of 410° F because thats what I'm used to but maybe its power and extraction may make up for it.

i wonder if the oils front end is still in the works or scrapped because of temp limits?:)
