Just wondering how long a charge would take using the usb port in my car...

It depends on the USB converter current capacity, same as it does the wall wart. Assuming you have a typical (one Amp) one it'll take the normal time. It actually charges at .7 to .8 Amps (varies with unit and charge on battery) if it can get that much. If you're using a half Amp channel, it's going to take about half again as long.

Does anyone have problem where after about 5-6 hits, the airflow gets worse and there's only a little bit of cloud when exhaling? When I checked the stem, the weed was really tight together, kinda pucked like and was still green. It's kinda killing my attitude towards the arizer air.
New at this. I've only had my Air two days, but I've experienced that feeling where it doesn't matter how hard you suck, nothing is coming through. I take a pick and punch through the four glass holes after I stir. That helps.

That's pretty much the issue I have but the problem is that I have a screen so it'll be a hassle to take out the screen and punch holes and stir every time it gets hard to pull like that.

Sorry you're having troubles, guys, but 'the solution' is not in poking holes or stirring loads. It's elsewhere in technique. Please consider there are hundreds of getting excellent results with Air (and many times that with Solo) without this.

You can vape intact buds in Air/Solo. I suggest maybe you try that?

In general, careful attention to cure (dry), grind (medium) and packing (not compacted) are keys. Masses that the vapor can't easily escape from are not useful.

New guys sometimes have troubles that need to be overcome, but proper technique and fair or better grade bud can work just fine......and do thousands of times a day for almost all owners.

Stick with it, it's worth figuring out.

@WoodVillain and @the_huge_cloudz, you're confusing me. I'm leaning real hard toward my next investment being a nano. Then you both pull that stunt!. Jeez those AAs look good up there.

Looks good, tastes good, hits awesome. THX. It's a FourTwenty Blue Scientific Bong (double honeycomb and turbo-wheel) by the way ... :D

Yeah I've had this since the beginning of February and initially it was working beautifully the first month or two but has gone downhill since then. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to get it to perform like how it used to. Bud is still dry and grind is medium/medium fine (upside down 4 piece grinder consistency) and the technique is still the same.

I've been trying to figure it out since the end of March and I'm growing tired and impatient. It occasionally performs really well (like when I first got it) and it gives me hope, but it's really disappointing after vaping a bowl without any issues and then loading a second one and not being able to get any vapor after a couple of pulls. I've also been playing around with screens (domed, flat, upside down domed) and each variation would occasionally yield results but would sometimes be really hard to pull with little/no vapor.

I'm also beginning to suspect the unit itself maybe? I've dropped it once on a ceramic floor tile and I was wondering if that maybe damaged the internals maybe?

7EON, i think i, vaguely, remember someone saying one of the holes in the heater of theirs was clogged, they had to open it up and blow it out or something.... Dont quote me. Even when sober my memory isnt perfect... Its a Saturday, my 10 year anniversary, and im FAR from sober at the moment :D

I dont have access to any fancy stuff. Once in a VERY blue moon i get something half decent but 99% of the time the stuff i get, im sure a lot of people would turn their noses up at....

But thats another benefit of vaping. Even the regular street weed that comes full of seeds can taste "great" when vaped!! Medicinal qualities are low though, and that sucks as i use for both recreational and medicinal reasons. But.... Lemons to lemonade. Better yet, water to whiskey

Don't pack so tight I just use the straw method although I made my 4 holes in the Air stem larger like the Solo stem.
(I use the Solo bent with the Air mostly)

Or scoop and tamp lightly with pinky right below rim.
Also a flat screen will clog faster so either dome and trim a 5/8 screen, dome or cup, cup uses more, dome sees less.
And a 1/2 in screen in the heater or lift stem slightly.

Funny you should mention. That was actually me who posted that and I thought that was the fix to the issue, only to have it come back after a couple weeks of the supposed "fix". Thanks anyways.

Just thought I would chime in on the whole hard to pull/little vapour thing, first I would try an empty stem to see if the problem is with the device, try stem all the way in and also then pull it out 1-2 mm and try again, if airflow is good then it's a bud/technique issue.

I've had my air since February and use a screen to keep the bud from covering the four holes in the stem and lift the stem out 1-2mm and find no matter how I pack (usually just stick stem into ground bud then just tamp a little) I get good flow (not as good as some other vapes but I'm not having to draw with much effort) similar to an unfiltered cigarette (although it's been a while since I touched one of those dirty nasty things, it seems a good reference as draw speed is hard to explain with words)

IME just lifting the stem a couple mm should give the biggest result without either modifying the stem or going with a higher flow one.

I realise most of this has already been mentioned or tried but thought I would give my experience

I got the case delivered today.. Sunday... At 9am in the morning.. I dont understand how Amazon can afford to deliver by a private courier on a Sunday morning for only 3 dollars more than the standard (cheapest) slow shipping... But anyways back to whats important...

The dimensions given for the interior is off... it says you have ~1.5" deep of usable space inside but this is not true with the interior pocket. You barely have an inch deep, and to make the Air fit well i have to either keep it empty or remove the pocket on the other side entirely... which sucks, because the interior pocket was a (one of) selling point over a couple other cases i was choosing from.

As far as build quality goes its a sweet case, well made and seems to have a good seal. The removable pocket uses velcro, attached by weak adhesive but other than the dimensions being off and cheap velcro tape the case is pretty awesome.

Lots of cases in this price range though... So while i think the case is a quality case i dont really recommend it for the Air due to the interior dimensions. .5" deeper and it would be the PERFECT case for me. I would of been ordered the vapecase thats made for the Air but id prefer to customize the options inside and dont want to have a spot for the charger in the travel case....

Anyways, just wanted to share my findings so no one orders the case and then asks me why i didnt tell yall its too shallow HAHA

Bummer. But the very sort of thing 'suits' like to do when they make up sales information.

How about if you sew (or even staple) the pouch off so it's half depth, can you fit the Air 'behind' it in the case then? Half a pouch is better than none they say......

Not to worry about that 'too shallow' part, we have Ataxian covering that?

Thanks for the update. Still looks like one tough box, if you can get it all inside and the lid shut you can be pretty positive about being able to take it out again in the same shape come what may.

Thats a great idea about shortening the pocket!!

Come to find out, even empty its very stiff closing, more so than a pelican type case, i figured the Air was the reason i couldnt close it easily so I took everything out, same thing.

Thats GOOD. SO the Air fits fine even with the pocket.... As long as the pocket is empty or if i make sure the contents sit where the Air is NOT...

I can fir the Air, PVHES stem, and an 18MM Gong on the bottom side with enough foam around everything to keep it all secure. Putting stuff closer together i could fit even more.... But id like to keep it neat and secure looking.

If i shorten the pocket and get 2 single battery sleeves so the batteries cant touch each other but still sit together it would work great.. i think :D

Edit: Ok for now i just took out the PVHES stem to make room for the 2 batteries. And if im careful how i position everything i can get some small stuff in the pocket still as is. Some various screens, king size papers, and a couple small containers for already ground bud... I like these little containers because the herb chamber area of all the Air stems fit right inside these little containers. So i dont have to pour herb out, i simply stick the stem in like you would do with a dugout.

Anyways, just wanted to show it works, and as you can see im not utilizing all of the area so there are options for customizing it to your wants/needs. Not a bad buy after all!

You mentioned the VapeCase for the Arizer Air, so I thought I'd best chime in due to my interminable dislike for that particular model. That very case is one of the most disappointing cases that VapeCase has ever made. To anyone contemplating purchasing this case, please do yourself a favour and buy a Pelican case instead: they are cheaper, of far higher quality, and are customisable in terms of layout. Any of the Pelican 1100 series will do; I recommend either the 1120 or the 1150.

As long as we're talking cases, I really like the Vatra case Randy at PIU sells for the Solo. Yes, I know we're talking Air here, but IMO the extra room inside with the smaller Solo makes it cool for Air. It's not a hard case, not water proof, but it's extremely protective IMO from everyday bumps and bangs.

There's a pocket in the back that handily holds a small 'mains to USB charger, USB to Air charger cable, cigarette lighter USB converter, and a spare battery. I have everything there to recharge the Air (from the mains, a USB port or auto) and a spare battery.

In the main compartment goes the Air and a capped stem. In the larger inside pocket is a 'Doob Tube' with a gram or so of prepared bud, ready for sacrifice after the load in the stem is cashed and an 'orange wood stick' (fat toothpick used by Manicurists) to aid in reloads. 8 sessions 'in the bag' between the internal and replacement battery, more if I can get to power to recharge batteries.

FWIW if you haven't checked out Doob Tubes for stash you're missing a sure bet. The orange wood sticks are also mighty handy for lots of things and are 'dirt cheap' so you can toss them and get a fresh one when the urge (or necessity) comes along. Even for use on lesser vapes.

Although im not a huge fan of the pick and pluck "pluckable" foam i do like this urban adventurer case. I have a couple pelicans and they are excellent quality for sure, but for now i think this one will work out well... If it doesnt ill definitely pick up a pelican...probably 1120, Guess it wouldnt be too hard to attach a pocket organizer into any case...

@OF do the Air stems fit into the doob tube? Happen to know the approx diameter of the opening? When im out on the go, normally in the woods, i dont like having to pour ground herb into my dirty hand or something else before putting it into the stem... On a windy day this can get quite frustrating LOL

Would be kind of cool to have a small dugout box, that holds an Air stem/gong and has an herb spot... Same thing as a normal dugout just fitted for the Air stem... I bet @Ed's TnT could likely figure that out!! Of course that would be one more thing needing to be carried or fitted to any case you have though.

No they don't. They're basically the same size. .62 OD, .55 ID. The small end of the all glass stems fit inside. I used to carry a spare, but swapped it for a spare battery when I realized how really well protected the stem is inside tucked next to that big old Air body with all that foam around.

I share your reservation on sometimes having junk on my hands I don't want to vape, truth be known I usually carry a couple of those little packet hand cleaners....... Admitting that sometimes has folks shifting uneasily in their chairs as others quietly slip out side doors. I get the ISO based ones without hand conditioner. They can even do a fair job on field vape clean ups, even concentrates. Handy stuff.

HAHA, i carry several Dynarex Cleansing Towelettes with me in my field pack, have some in my EDC bag, even a couple in my fire kit... Damn things come in handy for sure... Im not picky on which i use, but i dont buy them either, the wife got a couple boxes from work. Now that i think about it i can throw a couple in that case's interior pouch thingy too.

Im quick to get worm and fish guts all over my hands. That and/or tree sap when chopping firewood or clearing a camp site. I normally dont care too much... But when its time to load a stem and i look down at my dirty hands covered in guts, sap, blood, mud, sweat, and unicorn tears.... id rather not throw my herb on top of all that no matter how mediocre in quality it is LMAO.

Of course i could just wash my hands before every load... But i load a lot, and when out and about the less time cleaning, the more time playing... the better!!

Good afternoon, thanks for thinking of me and y work, I appreciate that! Long long ago, i did give it a try making a wooden box deal kinda like a dugout, was a neat idea at first but I lost that loving feeling along the way for that idea, just didnt like the size or it most of all, just didnt feel it and didnt want to do it again. A while after that I did however make this nifty piece, has a short storage in one end, hold a stem in the other and also has a neat little pic/poker/stir tool in an end that also held the stem in place without much wobbling around internally. Only made a couple, am sure I could get rid of em pretty quick if I had more, its just time is what I dont have. Heres what I did

While I've read here about doming screens, I've just been plunking a small flat screen down toward the bottom of the bowl to keep things tidy and what not. Did a little cleaning earlier. My screen had seen better days so I decided to toss it and try the lone larger size brass screen I had laying around as a dome. While it significantly diminished the size of the bowl, it did seem to produce improved hits. I'll keep trying of course in order to make a more informed opinion. But I suspect the ss domers can no longer be put off.

To keep a bigger bowl just push the dome flat even add a smaller dome going the opposite way (this is what I do) if that makes sense :hmm: but keep a gap between the four holes and the screen

Edit: I changed my profile pic to show my preferred method for home made screens, to get a bigger load than this will hold, simply leave screen domed and insert upside down (to how I do it) but always keeping the four holes clear.

Thanks man! Im really interested in this whole domed screen thing I played a bit with it as well..
I'd be thankful if you could describe it with additional pictures. Seem to have question marks over my head when it comes to dome up/down coz I don't know from what perspective... Do you hold the stem up/down etc,.
My main thingy is, I have never filled the bowl that much. So if I just take some tiny bits of load it's most likely to drop into the heating chamber - what I try to avoid by all means. So I kinda cage it with a domed screen, either bucket style (Mp held with herb chamber up, then herbs in it, then domed screen inserted like a bucket on top) or domed style (like above, but screen inserted the other way round.. But this is really fiddly, especially when you have to adjust it or when to get it out.. ).
How do you fill your stem with or without certain screens to keep that little amount of herb from falling into the heater? Greatly appreciate your suggestions!

P.s. Of course I gonna post pics of what I described above if someone's interested in! Don't wanna preach water but vape without bubbler ... Erm, no, that was different..:D

I don't use a screen to prevent herb directly touching the oven. I always keep a screw in my vape case. The shaft is a great stirring tool. And when I load the stem up I tamp it down somewhat with the flat head of the screw.

I find that keeps the herb compact enough to get thick vapor and to keep it away from the oven itself.
