5 Countries Where You Don't Want to Smoke Pot

Visiting other countries is a great experience that everyone should do, but there are some countries where smoking weed is a really bad idea. Here's our top five.

1. Singapore
Singapore_Flag.jpg

If you ever go to the tiny island city - state, forget about weed. Possession will cost you up to 10 years in prison, while trafficking can lead to the death penalty. They’re not screwing around. And even if you somehow sniff out some green stuff, it’ll be the schwaggiest garbage you’ve ever stuffed into your lungs. Just say no.

2. People’s Republic of China
China.jpg

China executes thousands of people every year. A few hundred of those executions stem from trafficking drugs like heroin, meth and weed. The quality of bud may have improved in recent years, but China is still a third-world country in terms of product. Are you really going to risk prison or worse for some mids?

3. U.A.E.
Uae-flag_wikipedia_duran_duran.jpg

Common trend here: the death penalty. In 2012, a British man and a Syrian man, aged 21 and 19 respectively, were sentenced to death for allegedly trying to sell an undercover around 20 grams of bud. Smoking can carry a heavy prison sentence, too.

4. South Korea
So.Korea_.jpg

If you have THC in your system while in South Korea, you could be in deep shit. The presence of THC in urine or hair is enough to put you behind bars for at least a few months. If you’re a Korean citizen, you can be jailed and fined for smoking even while you’re outside the country. Crown J, a Korean rapper, received eight months in prison plus fines for lighting up in the US.

5. Syria
syria-flag.jpg

Syria’s not exactly a place you want to be right now for reasons that far supersede issues of marijuana legality and punishment. Still, we’d be remiss not to include it on this list. Before war broke out, marijuana infractions of any level could carry sentences of up to life in prison. War has increased tensions surrounding the drug, as locals who had begun growing plants as a means of supporting local economies affected by the war have faced violent, sometimes lethal drug raids.

Oklahoma man facing multiple life sentences for selling, possessing marijuana

He allegedly sold 4 grams of marijuana to two confidential informants with the Enid Police Department.

After the purchase, the Enid Police Department served a search warrant at Bourbonais’ home.

When officers searched the home, they say they found a black Colorado marijuana container which had 3.3 grams of marijuana inside, a glass marijuana pipe, and a 5-gallon bucket containing other Colorado marijuana containers. One of the containers allegedly had 11 grams of marijuana.

Cautionary note for the FC ladies...

Dear Ladies who smoke weed: we might have a problem...

Marijuana could be drying out your vagina.

"cotton vagina" - it's discussed at length on Internet forums. But is there really a correlation between marijuana consumption and a lack of natural vaginal lubrication?

"Now not all pot is going to give you dry mouth, but if you have had a strain that is giving you dry mouth, it will also make you more dry [down there]," said Dr. Julie Holland in an interview with Vice.

While there are precious few studies dedicated to non-lethal side effects of cannabis, she feels that cotton vagina is a legitimate side-effect users should know about.

Dr. Holland's observations are supported by a 2009 study that found a link between marijuana usage and poor vaginal lubrication.

The study analyzed the experience of over 8,000 cannabis consumers in Australia.

If you think about it, a link between marijuana and crotch desertification makes total sense: your mouth and your vagina are both mucus membranes. If the weed you smoke dries out one, why not the other?

Interestingly, Dr. Holland hypothesizes that THC-dominant strains will have more of a drying effect than CBD-dominant strains. And taking birth control, which is a known enemy of vaginal wetness, can exacerbate the problem.

"In general the thing that makes women dry is the pill. Because there's all this different mucus that happens throughout your cervical cycle. As Mother Nature designs it, when you're fertile, you're wet. But if you're on the pill, you don't ovulate; you don't get that mid-cycle wetness," Dr. Holland told Vice.

So what's a weed-smoking girl who is also a responsible birth-control user to do? Dr. Holland suggests trying a coconut oil-based lubricant.

I agree, coconut oil is good for many many uses and going downstairs is one of them. It's all natural and no perfumes to disrupt the flora and the fauna of the atmosphere in the nether regions.;)
It makes sense though that if you have cotton mouth you would have cotton vagina too.

We need our FC friend @dorkus_molorkus to weigh in on his expertise with the coconut oil. I'm sure he has a story to tell.:leaf::peace:

...I can understand the hypothesis, however.
Really?

Well most obviously, because I don't "smoke" "weed" through my vagina.

Yes. The hypothesis is that, since mucus membranes tend to experience dryness after cannabis use, that all mucus membranes will.

It's a decent hypothesis, but needs some data gathering to prove/disprove the theory.

It's not the vapor or smoke sucking away the moisture, it's cannabis being processed by the body that pulls the moisture. It can pull from anywhere. They are also tying it to birth control usage. That right there will muddy it for them, and render their theory much harder to validate. It should be isolated.

I can say my experience is pretty much the opposite. And after scanning the "study" listed, I'm pretty sure I'm not a freak. The Abstract page indicates the study was in fact a cold-call survey so any information is anecdotal and the results look tailored to prove that pot smokers are non-straight, single people that sleep around and have unsafe sex. I could probably have gotten the same "conclusion" substituting energy drinks or golf for weed - or tobbacco and alchohol, which they also indicated.

A buzz behind so-called pot-induced "cotton vagina" is thinking is totally, utterly wrong. In fact, it gets basically everything wrong about how both cotton mouth and vaginal lubrication work.

Sorry she's combusting that's a no no around here. That doesn't look like a Vapor Genie.:ugh:

"No, I don’t believe [pot-induced cotton vagina] is a real thing," Tami Rowen, an OB-GYN at the University of California, San Francisco, told the Daily Dot. “The reason that people have cotton mouth is because there is a cannabinoid receptor in the salivary gland in the mouth. So it decreases the amount of saliva produced in the mouth,”

In other words, the pot interacts directly with the salivary glands to cause cotton mouth, rather than going through the bloodstream and affecting saliva production some other way. Vaginal lubrication, on the other hand, is a direct result of blood flow to the vagina due to arousal. (Though some women can experience vaginal dryness even when they’re turned on.) In short, the biological processes behind dry mouth and vaginal lubrication have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

I found this info online, it was from 2 days ago.

Coffee, with a kick. (Seth McConnell, The Denver Post)
Weed K-Cups: Pot-infused Keurig-style coffee pods are now on shelves

  • By Ricardo Baca, The Cannabist Staff

While Colorado has seen the lion’s share of international attention surrounding its legal marijuana market, Washington state’s regulated cannabis program has fittingly owned up to its regional reputation as Coffee Paradise, U.S.A.

    (fairwindsmanufacturing.com)
First came the weed-infused cold-brew coffee, Legal. And now comes Catapult, an infused coffee that comes conveniently packaged in Keurig-styled K-Cups handy for single-serve brews.

The coffee’s maker, Fairwinds Manufacturing, describes the blend as “a premium series of cannabis-infused coffee beans that feature local Northwest coffee roasters whom supply premium, freshly roasted coffee beans from coffee regions throughout the world.”

Motley Fool has an article on how low in price legal weed might be should it become legal in all the States.
And those are the legal market rates. Support your local school district !

I have it on good authority that "bootleg" oz's are going for $150 retail & $75 wholesale.
This is in in california, I'm sure the rest of the left coast and colorado are similar.

One would have to decide whether the eyes on the legal product would be worth it's additional cost. Goods that legal stores rejected would likely appear on the black market. Of course, that is assuming there IS any certification of quality on the legal weed market.

Or growers might keep their "Best Buds", or BBs, close to their heart so that they might score heavily on the Black Mkt. "Save my BB! Save my BB!!"

Or a bit of both.

It can only be a good thing to get out from under all the legal bullshit. It would be best for us, of course, if they just took it completely out of pharma, and treated it like a food or textile crop. Or like tobacco.

That is pretty unlikely, tho.
