YAWN! :suspicious:

Good morning folks! :D

I've decided to start my very first thread. So, I thought what better subject to get things kicked off with than the most important meal of the entire day - BREAKFAST!!!
I love it! And never miss it.

How about you?

To me, a day would not be a day without the required fuel to get it started, & for me this usually comes in the form of food, drink & vapor :)

To manage my own health issues, I ALWAYS start the day off with a fruit, veg, seed & powder non-dairy blend.

So, this is today's version:
1 x organic banana
1 x organic apple
1 x organic kiwi
1 x organic carrot
1 x sharon fruit
1 x plum
30g organic hemp protien powder
20g organic spirulina powder
35g of dehulled organic hemp seeds
500ml of almond milk

The fruit & veg are chopped & then all ingredients are mixed with a hand blender to a fairly smooth consistency. It's all then sent on it's way - down the hatch - usually in about 15 rather largs gulps as I'm anxiously clock watching in an attempt not to be late for work . . .

This morning however, I have time for a hot drink too.

- Today, it's a refreshing cup of Earl Grey Rooibos tea. I really love this stuff. Hardly any tannins to upset me.

And finally . . . Hello Vapman and unknown nameless ;):)

So how about ya'll?
What gets you going in the morning?
What are you having THIS morning?
Coffee, vape & out the door?
Which strain? Which device?
Do you have a family\group breakfast?
Are your weekend breakfasts more extravagant?
What are your breakfast traditions?
Maybe you don't eat breakfast at all?
What is your morning routine?
Yoga? A run? Walking the dog?
Even breakfast anecdotes are welcome here! :)

COME AND SHARE!!

I WANT TO KNOW ALL THINGS BREAKFASTY FROM THE FAR REACHES OF FC!!!

Bon Appétit!

I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too
I just about manage two glasses of water and to grab a banana as I head out the door after the morning madness. I usually feel to nauseous to eat anything at that ungodly hour.

I really need to sort this out.

Where the hell do I get hemp protein from? I need some of that.

First off - thank you to all you good peoples! It's great to hear from you!

Well at least you have something. Banana GOOOOOD :)

But I know what you mean about not being able to face food in the mornings. I skipped breakfast for years when I was younger, but your body definitely adapts to it if you manage to get yourself into some sort of a breakfast routine.

My morning smoothy making is like a religion to me, & on the exceptionally rare occasion that I can't have it, I feel like I'm jonesin'! :uhh:

Yeah, get yourself some hemp protien powder dude. It's great stuff which helps me to power on through the day - often forgetting lunch.

As for getting hold of some, it obviously depends on your location - but just try your local health food shop - they're bound to have it or at the very least be able to order it in for you.

Else give it a Google, there are several brands out there.

Please let us know how you do.

Thanks to @Caligula I now eat the same breakfast every day.

You can find the recipe 0:30 seconds in:

@EveryDayAmnesiac -
that is awesome! Now I wanna see YOU eatin' that!

Awwww @crawdad! Bless! Perhaps breakfast in bed would suit you better? ;)
Does anyone really get such luxurious treatment? Anyone?!

And @SSVUN~YAH :D I feel ya on that 1 bro! High-5 for that fo' shizzle!!!

imho breakfast in bed is about the most uncomfortable way to eat unless that muffin top heavy ya heard.

when i get on my health kick once every 2 years or so i do apples and carrots in a juicer and i love it, can feel the energy which is useful for cleaning up the juicer.

I do my special ABV oatmeal recipe minus the ABV along with a freshly ground and brewed cup of African coffee from Kenya.

Yep, classic. Oatmeal has gotta be a geat & well proven way to give yourself fuel for the day. It's so good in so many ways, it's a 'superfood' for sure.
I'd be interested to hear your special recipe @lwien. Sorry, 'cuz I'm guessing you've posted it elsewhere in the forum & I've missed it?

That coffee sounds good too (not you @SSVUN~YAH! ha ha classic btw! NUTTY!!!). Do you always go for the same beans? I should make more of an effort with the good ol' bean & my cafetiere because I've definitely been neglecting it of late. I really do enjoy a visit to the local tea & coffee merchant and on that note I think I will pay them a visit when I get the chance next week . . .

Here is my real breakfast:

Ha! Good call @EveryDayAmnesiac. That looks like a refreshing slap in the face! The mandarin Absolut is a nice touch I'm sure. But I'm guessing this is maybe a late riser's breakfast choice?! Or maybe not! :ko:

We were certainly more than happy to drink Bloody Marys for breakfast on the plane to Barcelona recently . . . it seemed perfectly reasonable at the time, and the crew even cheered! Although in hindsight, perhaps that should have told us something :D

Good morning peoples!

No cereal, toast or muffins? Wake'N'Bake anybody?! A strain for your morning tea AND for your morning vape?

Well, since no one has recently been particularly forthcoming with their bre'faster selectianos I thought I'd post ya up a pic of this tasty little treat that I had the pleasure of enjoying this fine morning . . . .

So, for me:

Almond milk latte (x2).
Toast
Mushrooms
Homemade baked beans
Smoked tofu on a 'bed of spinach'
Grilled tomatoes
Sweet potato chips

. . . And for the lady:

Regular flat white
Smashed avocado on toast with chilli garlic & lemon.
Coconut water with mint, lime & cucumber (not pictured).

And then to finish I just couldn't resist a generous slice of vegan lemon drizzle cake with blueberries!

And in all it's deliciousness I forgot to snap a further piccy . . .

YOMP! :)

I know many of you may think that there is a lot that is missing from the meal above, but in my own little world, this is a pretty awseome breakfast!

I hope you all have a grrrrrrrrrreat weekend!

I'd be interested to hear your special recipe @lwien.

Sorry this took so long to answer. Just saw your post:

Recipe:

Bring to boil 1 cup of either soy milk, regular milk or almond milk (I use soy) and 1/2 cup of water.
Pour in 1/2 cup of steel cut oatmeal.

Simmer for 25 to 30 minutes with intermittent stirring to desired thickness.....uncovered.

While simmering, slice up one banana into empty bowl. Add in a handful of either 10 large blackberries or a couple handfuls of blueberries. Sprinkle in a teaspoon or two of cinnamon.

When oatmeal has reached desired thickness, add in 2 grams of ABV (my ABV is a chocolate brown color) to oatmeal in pot, and stir............immediately remove from heat and pour oatmeal/abv mixture over the banana's/berries and cinnamon. Sprinkle on top a handful or two of walnut pieces or almond slices.

Toss and stir to mix things up.

Enjoy........Not only did it get me totally blitzed within an hour and kept me there for another six, it's a really healthy AND tasty way to get there.

Bottom line.....you don't need to either heat up your abv nor do you need to mix it in with food that has a high fat content.

Actually, @lwien got me into abv oatmeal but I don't follow a recipe. I read him saying something about it before and it's almost a daily thing now. Not only does it keep me moving until lunch, it keeps the pain away!

A big cup of coffee, couple bottles of water from our well, and a fruit and I'm out the door. I usually eat healthy until night time. I need to fix that.

Love your post @KidFated.

Interesting to hear you're a fan and regular abv oatmealer - so to speak. I am yet to try it but I would like to - and now when hearing further praise from others I especially think I should . . .

You have a well? That sounds very interesting too! Fetching water instead of turning on a tap would certainly help you to think about what we take for granted in this life - even if we possibly only do it because we can and not because we need to. Is that the case for you? Do you have a well because the water is fresh & free? Apologies if I sound rather dumb on this subject!

I usually eat healthy until night time. I need to fix that.
Hmmmm, which part?! :brow:

Peace bro.

We have a well system for the home but we do have a well with a pump out on the land. I refuse city water and most bottled water. The water from the pump is well worth the effort it takes to get it started each spring!

The oatmeal, uh, took some getting used to. I first would drown it in syrup or fruit, but realized too much sugar in the morning was really hurting me. I'll be watching this thread for ways to improve my morning routine. Thanks @VegNVape for a great topic

First thing: HydroC in water. Next, GI Support in water.

Coffee. A couple of micro-dabs.

Bacon, eggs, packet of morning gut healers.

Off to work, with travel mug of "bulletproof" coffee, altered enough that I now call it "fully weaponized" coffee - Ghee, dark chocolate/raw cacao, unflavored (grass-fed) gelatin, all blended up until it really does resemble a mocha. very little sugar, if any, depending on my chocolate/cacao.

My usual is steel cut oats, like @lwien , but I'm temporarily doing 2 1/2 minute Cream of Wheat as my steel cut oats DEALER is out :( I buy 50 lbs bags of steel cut oats from him, which he gets directly from a mill but min order is 40 bags so he has to wait until he gets that covered.

They could not be any fresher or better.
To cut down on the almost 30 minute cooking time I often start them the night before. Put water and oats in a saucepan on stove, crank it up to boiling, boil for 2 minutes, turn off heat and cover. Soak like that overnight. Next morning then only takes simmering for about 7 minutes.

I add frozen blueberries and dried cranberries and some brown sugar.
Steel cut oats rules.

It is almost as good for your body as vaped bud....

Oh lwien, --my African nectar too ;) but I go with Kenyan single plantation green tea ( Kapchorua, Nandi Provence, 5500-7200' mtn grown). I thought I'd better go for healthy green tea but many tasted grassy to me---not this one though.

@Enchantre Do you buy ghee or make your own?
Yes.

Life is so wonderful. I now have the most amazing stove, with which I have the precise temp control needed to be able to make my own "ghee"...
no, I do not start with raw cream from sacred cows, and do the culturing thing. Sorry. My main goal is to remove as much of the casein as I can.

Anyway, a pound of unsalted Kerrygold (grass fed) butter on setting just under 2, observed for 45 minutes, then strained through a gold coffee filter and a dishtowel (100% cotton, washed a gazillion times), produces the most incredible jellified substitute for ghee that I've ever had. It tastes better than the wonderful ghee I've bought through the local food co-op.

I supposed you could just use the dishtowel, but I use the coffee filter thing to keep it above the liquid so it can drip.
