I know many people in here have suggested cutting a conduction screen to help keep small bits in the cans, but recently I started to use a small bowl screen and it seems to work really well. Anyone else use this? or have other solutions to keeping the bits in the cans from flying out?

Used my Haze the other night and the next morning when pulling the glass mouthpiece out using the brush a small rubber O ring came out with it (stuck to the mouthpiece about 1/3 of the way down)? Not sure where the O ring came from but it doesn't seem to affect performance. I'll check with Haze but has anyone else had this happen?

Yep and you are right, it won't affect performance.

The oring belongs in the top of the opening where the MP goes in to creat a seal. You can probably get it back in yourself as I did but it kept coming out. Haze offered to fix/send me a new one. Contact Haze if it bothers you I'm sure they will offer u the same.

It gets loose after a while but not to the point that it opens and spills stuff out when you carry it around in your pocket. The V2 model was loose and they made the new version tighter based on feedback. I put my thumb on the door and pull it up with my index and middle fingers. Super easy.

Ok so like an idiot I removed both plastic covering the batteries and started sterilizing it for like 5 mins before I realized I should have left the plastic on.

Are the batteries unusable now? Is the vape damaged in any way?

Any ideas please?

First things first welcome to FC

If you mean the see through plastic around the batteries then yes that is supposed to stay on , If your not used to these kind of batteries its an easy mistake to make  and you wont be the first to do it, it holds the PCB (protection) in place.

I'm guessing you mean sterilizing the haze not the battery?

Your Haze will be fine  (Unless you tried the batteries and something went boom but you would have noticed :D) the batteries could be ok but should not really be used without the wrapper for various reasons, now they could be fixed/put back together but IMO this should only be done by someone that knows/understands the risks involved.

If it was me i might try and contact haze, tell them what happened and see what they say, you never know they might offer you a discount on some replacements (might have to send pictures) if this happens i would recommend the XL batteries

Good luck and keep us posted on how you get on

This post has entirely too many emoticons - so it probably shouldn't be read by anyone.

Took a 390 mile trip today to get wax and bud-shatter from Botanico. Hellish drive but back home ok. IOW, I avoided both wrecks :bang: I saw on I-25 and the miles long backup the one caused. Got there in time for the early-bird special and got a 10% discount on top of that.

Massdrop emailed me in the meantime saying they received an extra grey Haze unit by mistake and if I would accept that instead of stealth black, they can ship now instead of continuing waiting for the 2nd batch of the Haze units for the group purchase. I emailed Kelly back at MD thanking her and saying that if she can verify that it is indeed a v2.5 and not a 2.0 to please go for it as I like the grey almost as well as black. I told her that I'd read that later v2.5's actually say the version on the box and if it says that, it's good enough for me! Crossing fingers...

Received my fleabay 40 buck Pinnacle hydrotube 3 days ago and I got one with slots instead of holes ~ and it doesn't leak or siphon. Yippy!

The plan: Obtain an extra Haze SS mouthpiece... heat it with an oxy/acetylene torch-job and bend it so that the hydrotube can be mostly upright with the Haze mostly horizontal so that the hot concentrate won't be spilling out of the Haze oven(s). I plan to use the "Nu-SONG" (nearly universal silicone on glass) adapter on the modded MP. I'll probably remove any heat remnants (oxidation and/or slag) from the torch with either an ultrasonic cleaner or maybe tumble it in some abrasive media. I may or may not passivate the stainless steel after that for corrosion protection. Might post a pic if the result isn't too fubar. Will post 10 pics if I really botch it!

Hey Haze! Howzabout a 55 degree mouthpiece? :brow: Hey, I know: How about if it's called "Concentrate Specialty Mouthpiece?" CSM? Well, it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue...

You all at Haze are seriously great for accepting and implementing so many ideas from your customers!

Andi at Botanico was super nice - even to an old dude. It looks to me like she genuinely loves her job; what a breath of fresh air! She didn't rush me a bit; gave me lots of good info; professionalism and very friendly. Nice store; kind of a scary neighborhood :goon: but the city seems to be putting a lot of work into it so it's not nearly as bad as it was 35 years ago. :myday:

In the meantime, SWIM (someone who IS me?) has some bagseed sprouting nicely..

Hello community,

Has anyone tried hard hashes with haze ? Non full melt Pressed kief, etc that they need higher temperatures.

What is the minimum amount dosage you can use for haze to work (for flowers or hashes for example) ?

Cheers !!

Yes, I've used Afghani black with the cans. I was surprised that it worked quite well at the third temperature setting (199°C/390°F). I had expected it to need the highest temperature. I should reiterate here that for me, the best aspect of the Haze is its ability to handle concentrates of all varieties.

For buds, I normally load .07 g and that works nicely in the Haze, but I see no reason that you couldn't cut that in half. In fact, just for you (and science :science:) I loaded .04 g of medium grind (no packing) using the conduction screen at the lowest temperature setting. Success!

.04 g is the smallest load I can measure accurately. It barely covers the bottom of the oven.

Welcome to FC and your Haze.

That wrapping can be slightly deceptive. I looked at it a little sideways when I got my Haze.

You could try wrapping the battery or at least the ends in electrical tape or transparent adhesive tape. You will need the tape to keep the protection circuit in place on the tail and the button top on the head. Try to not overlap the tape or you could make it too thick for the battery to fit into the Haze. You can buy new heat shrink tubing to re wrap the batteries. The tape could hold you over until you find a permanent solution.

I don't know if you understand the nature of 18650 Lion batteries but be careful with those, since their protective wrapping has been removed. A shorted out 18650 can do some damage. The Haze battery compartment appears to be all plastic, besides the metal contacts on the ends. Should be a very low risk of shorting out the battery.

Thanks guys. I'll just leave it out. I emailed Haze this morning but even if they offer to replace it I'll pass. I've become pretty attached to this thing.

Anyone have a solution to opening the lid without manhandling it! It's tigher than a clam!

I put my thumb centered on the battery side of the oven door and my fingers under the oven door lip. Lift up with my fingers while my thumb is putting a slight down pressure and hope I don't rip off the oven door. That may be a bit of an exaggeration but it feels that way sometimes.

Rotate it 90°. Hold it firmly in the palm of your hand, lid up and facing away. Place your other hand over the lid, curl your fingers under the lip, and lift gently.

Thanks, I think I actually did that before but forgot that it was easier. I don't get a lot of time with my Haze due to randoms at my workplace telling me what I can't do on my own time.

Glad I didn't wait 'til Monday: Did some babysitting with Massdrop today and finally got a UPS tracking number on the substituted grey Haze. Let's see... looks like MD is in San Fran :peace:... I doubt their warehouse is there due to the ludicrous cost of real estate. Maybe somewhere in CA? Gargled it and can't find out where their warehouse actually is. Anyone know where MD's warehouse is?

If it actually ships today... might make it to CO on Wednesday. :hmm:

I ran out of GD tincture 8 days ago and the asthma & allergies are just starting to kick my ass again now. Get here, Haze! I need to medicate. Well, and get baked too.

Edit: Just heard back from Massdrop. Their warehouse is located in New Jersey.

Hello fellow Hazers!! I can now say that cuz I just got my Haze a few days ago. Was a lurker while I did my research on the Haze, now I am official. :D

Was using a lot of the portable pen vapes with oil/wax and finally decided to spend the $$'s for one that does both herb and oils. And thanks to this forum and thread, I pulled the trigger.

Gotta some questions for you guys n gals:
- how would one know if the Haze they have is v 2.5? I mean just by eyeballing it? I've read through 17 pages out of 89 and did not find anything...yet. Also did a search on the thread came up with nothing.
- also tried the can method with herbs, setting at 4...did not notice much vapor. Then again coming from the pen vapes, I think I should not expect the clouds to be the same. Will try screens tonight but am going to hate cleaning them.

You guys ROCK!!! Ok, time to continue on reading through the rest of the thread...71 more pages to go...ha ha ha

Have a great weekend everyone!!!
